Vienna Harvest Festival
Erntedankfest is a harvest festival that took place in Vienna on 6-7 September. I got to it quite by accident (actually, like in all places in Vienna), I heard loud music and went to it. He passed on the square Heldenplatz.
The first thing I saw was a huge inflatable tractor!
There were a lot of people here, young people, couples, families with children, tourists and just onlookers. Local craftsmen carved sculptures from trees, animators entertained children, cheerful laughter was heard everywhere. The weekend went great!
Near one of the expositions, I was stuck in a stupor. There were stuffed animals on display. Okay, beavers and ducks don't look so creepy, the kids even took pictures with them...But FOX?!?!?!?...I remembered the "stoned fox" walking on the Internet.
And then there was gastronomy! Variety of jams, liqueurs, spices. You can test the product. And if you come hungry, then at the same time have a bite to eat : )
I especially liked the oatmeal chocolates with jam!
Delicious and almost dietary.
Meat and cheese products laid out for testing were raked in a fraction of a second. Separate queues were for alcoholic beverages. For a glass / glass, you had to leave a deposit, which was returned when you "tested" enough.
Many drinks are a mystery to me. I forgot all German, and not many spoke English. A "pair" of tied bottles, beautifully designed, would be a wonderful souvenir brought back from Austria. Just to know what it is. . : )
It was very interesting to watch the Austrians of different ages. 50% of them went to national costumes, and they were crazy about them! Here you could buy a national costume. The queues in the tent were not small. Approximate prices in the photo.
At the festival there were performances by children's groups, solo artists performed, there was an orchestra. There was music everywhere.
The festival turned out to be very interesting and colorful, reminded us of our Kyiv Art Picnic. You could safely spend the whole day here. And there is where to eat, and drink, and sit. Throughout the territory there were recreation and leisure areas for different generations.
