On October 1, 2017, my wife and I bought a tour to the Villa Romana hotel from the tour operator JoinUp (Kyiv) for the period October 14-21. Upon arrival in Spain (because of the Yanair airline, we lost half a day), at 3 am we were brought to another hotel in La Pineda without any explanation - i.e. in a completely different city! To our claims that La Pineda did not suit us, the guide could not tell (?) what the problem was, and the travel agent in Kyiv the next day could not explain the reasons for the changes either. Then in Salou we saw that the Villa Romana hotel was generally CLOSED FOR REPAIR. At the same time, when we wanted to change the reservation to another country before the trip (due to problems in Catalonia, transport strikes, the likelihood of unrest, etc.), we were told that "THE BOOKING IS IMPOSSIBLE! THE HOTEL WILL ISSUE A BIG FINE!" As a result, neither from the Spanish operator Travex nor from the Ukrainian JoinUp, we did not wait for explanations, apologies, or, moreover, compensation. Apparently, they believe that a Ukrainian tourist can easily be pushed into another hotel, city, or maybe a country (the Black Sea is also a sea, "what else do you need"). After returning to Kyiv, JoinUp responded to the claim that "you were provided with an alternative, you could refuse (by paying the costs to the operator), but you took advantage, so claims are not accepted" (according to the Tourism Law, of course!). Those. to bring at night without warning to another city and unload at the hotel - this means "provide an alternative." And to sell a tour to a hotel closed for repairs is normal, serious business. We could refuse, returning at our own expense to Kyiv. We were verbally told that this was the fault of the Villa Romana hotel, which did not warn the tour operators about the renovation. True, it is not clear who confirmed our reservation at the hotel - workers or what? And what prevented tour operators from providing us with an alternative in Salou, or in a normal way to apologize and compensate for the inconvenience (answer: indifference and redneck).

Conclusion, the Villa Romana hotel, the Spanish tour operator Travex and especially the Ukrainian JoinUp are a guaranteed source of your problems. Once JoinUp gets your money, it doesn't care about you. According to their contract (the most vile of contracts among tour operators), your only right is to pay money on time, they are not responsible for anything else.

P.S. Be picky, respect yourself, don't make mistakes!
