We chose a hotel in Blanes, Costa Brava, Spain to combine a beach holiday and a trip to Barcelona. Everything turned out) Although not without adventures.
Hotel Esplendid met absolutely all expectations. The manager of Coral Travel honestly said that this is not a 5-star palace, but a solid three with a number of advantages. We appreciated for ourselves: a beautiful area with a lot of greenery, a 5-minute slow walk to the beach, chic breakfasts (we only took breakfast), clean, although not very spacious room. We rested by the pool several times, and then we thought it was stupid to be near the Mediterranean Sea and flounder in the pool))) The beach is amazing, fine sand, clean, warm water. By the way, if anyone is looking for options for families with children, Blanes and this hotel are suitable. The hotel has a children's room.
We spent several days at the hotel, bathed, sunbathed, drank sangria, ate paella, and decided it was time to go to Barcelona. From Blanes to the capital of Catalonia 80 km, easily accessible by bus. You can go on an organized tour. We prepared, made a route and could already conduct a tour ourselves)))) We visited all the masterpieces of Gaudi, stood in line for several hours at the Sagrada Familia. It was worth it! We walked along La Rambla, the Latin Quarter. My husband definitely wanted to see the Camp Nou stadium, we went there too. Among my favorites was also Mount Tibidabo with an amusement park where my favorite film, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, was filmed. When we got tired of walking, we went down to the beach, to the Barceloneta area. Charming neighborhood, nice beach, clean sea. It was interesting to visit the Olympic Park area, which was built on the site of a semi-abandoned industrial zone. Advice for those who travel to Barcelona - do not take anything valuable with you, passports are better too, make copies. Keep track of things, cameras and phones. Barcelona is the most thieving city in Europe (so they say, I believe in the word, I don’t want to check)).
