Hello friends! On the wire, the head of the travel agency "Toursalon"
I keep testing Accord tours from Lviv and here is my itinerary for this fall.
France, September-October 2011-10-11 "Business trip to Paris"
Route – Bratislava – Vienna – Paris – Prague
Dear friends!
I want to share my impressions of the trip, give specific advice and just talk about some of the nuances.
Once again, we went with the Accord. Immediately the question was buried in the visa, we received it a day before departure. It certainly wins. You go to such a distance and you don’t know whether you will go on vacation or not. Request to "Akkord" - submit documents early, is it really difficult?
I definitely want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to the guide MARKIAN!!! I have never seen such a responsible, patient and attentive guide. He can tell the same thing 100 times, call, warn, decide if something is wrong.
In general, more of these guys will accompany you and everything will be fine!!!
I will not paint by day, I will just write what and how.
Get ready to cross the border. Stock up on a laptop-book, player, book, Tetris))))
Do not forget to take warm socks, a pillow and a blanket on the bus, this will always simplify and make life on the bus comfortable.
Just want to say about night crossings. If you have it on the tour, get ready for a road of about 1300 km or more. Accord and other tour operators make a route through Prague or Vienna or Bratislava for a reason. This is done on purpose so that people do not shake for 2 days on the road, but also rest in the hotel and watch something else ...
If your route lies through Bratislava, take the opportunity to go shopping. There are very low prices compared to other European countries. I am talking not only about clothes, but also about household items (kettles there, or irons) ... It is clear that you are going for impressions, but I personally did not receive them from Bratislava at all. A sightseeing tour will give you the opportunity to look at this city, but only the center is interesting, you don’t need to spend more than a day on this city. I can only recommend a trip to Devin Castle, a beautiful place. Plus, if your trip is in season, then you can go by boat on the Danube, inexpensive and very beautiful.
By the way, you can go to Vienna on your own, it takes only one hour by train, a one-way ticket costs about 7-8 Euros, a round-trip about 14 Euros. There are no problems with the language at all!
If Beshenova is on your route, then go take a “business” ticket, which allows you to use both indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzi ... Keep in mind that there are discounts for a group ticket, not big, in the amount of 1.5-2 Euros.
If you are driving through the territory of Slovakia, look out the window. Beautiful views are provided to you. And I have never seen such a number of castles, whole and not so, all on the hills, above the roads. We also passed through the cities of Poprad (nothing special) and Rozumberok (super small and very nice little town).
And now for Paris.
Valuable advice: get familiar with the subway map. This is not difficult. But you will always be on time everywhere and always. People from small towns are embarrassed by 17 subway lines…)))) But I was not embarrassed. Take the metro map and go ahead, the stations are written everywhere, everywhere the “Sortie” marks (like this) are the exit, the metro lines are marked with colored circles. To figure out which way to go, you need to look at which end station is written in your direction and go ...
Walk more on your own. A guide is certainly good, but you can understand Paris only by walking along the Champs Elysees on your own, sitting on the observation deck and looking at the Eiffel Tower ...
In general, I want to say the following. If you want to save money on a trip, just read about what you want to see in advance. You can go around the Latin Quarter yourself, you can also go to Montmarte yourself. Of course, if you don't know anything, then a tour guide is a good thing. But you won’t see much, you can’t run around everything in 2-3 hours.
Keep in mind that children and students are either free or heavily discounted. Always check this with the guide, instead of paying crazy money.
You can go to the Louvre with a guide if you don't know anything at all! Time is disastrously short in such an excursion - only 2-2.5 hours. They show the most basic: Nika, Venus, Mona Lisa, slaves, etc.
If possible, I recommend to read in advance and go yourself. If you are an art aficionado, I recommend going to the Musée d'Orsay.
A walk on the Seine is a dubious exercise. You can look at Notre Dame from all sides by walking along the embankment and across the bridge. Moreover, there is no food, no drink and no entertainment as in other cities.
You have to go to Versailles with a group by bus, after all, it’s a little headache on your own. Versailles has a chic park, unfortunately, it is impossible to get around it all in such a short time. So if you go yourself - enjoy to the fullest.
Disneyland is a separate issue. I didn’t go, but those who were in our group were wildly delighted, despite the queues for the park itself and the queues for the rides.
Tickets for the Moulin Rouge and the Lido must be booked in advance, otherwise there is a risk of not getting in. The price is the same - 110 or so Euros.
At the expense of buying souvenirs, if these are blacks under the Eiffel Tower or near Versailles, feel free to bargain, turrets and mirrors and handkerchiefs can only be bought from them for a low price! And yet, the cheapest souvenirs of all countries are sold near the Seine on the embankment under the tower. In other places, I compared, already more expensive!
If you take wine and champagne and cognac, not cheaper than 5-6 euros per bottle, and then it will be good. Note that this is all dry wine, not sweet. Alcohol such as Becherovka, rum, etc. also inexpensive, at least cheaper than we have in Ukraine.
Perfume can be bought anywhere, there will be no fakes anywhere! The best prices in BenLux stores (sort of). One of them is directly opposite the Louvre (where the pyramid is). The perfumes in Fragonard are also good, I especially liked the mini-sets for 13 and 21 Euros, where there are 5 different fragrances at once.
That seems to be all, if you have any questions, I will be glad to answer.
