Great holiday in Greece

Thanks to selena for a wonderful tour - "Summer in Greece".

The departure was on August 23 and after 2 days, through Romania and Bulgaria, we arrived in Platamonas - one of the popular places on the mainland of Greece.

Representatives of Selena handed us over to the reliable hands of Elena from Evi Tours.

I lived in a cozy, small hotel Dias 3 ***. Meals - HB - buffet in the morning, a la carte dishes in the evening, very hearty and tasty. There was live music in the restaurant in the evenings. The beach is across the road, literally 2 minutes walk. Nearby is a public transport stop. There are several supermarkets. Also nearby are many souvenir shops and restaurants with wonderful Greek dishes.

Eight days flew by like a blink of an eye. In addition to swimming in the Aegean Sea, I saw:

1. Platamonas fortress, which rises above the beach. Entrance 2 euros. Opening hours - until 15.00 inside the fortress. If you come later, do not despair - you can go around the fortress from the outside and see the beauty of the resort. Walking time from the hotel to the fortress - 30 minutes one way.

2. The monasteries of Meteora are something incredible. Creation of man and nature. It is impossible to contain emotions when you see the eighth wonder of the world. We traveled on a 2-story bus for 2 hours. First there was a visit to the church of St. Paraskevi - we collected holy water from the source, visited the church, put candles, prayed for the secret. Then we went to a church shop, where we were first told about the technique of icon painting, after which monasteries soaring in the clouds awaited us. We visited 2 monasteries. Very interesting and informative tour.

3. o. Skiathos - the trip started early in the morning, we traveled 2 hours by bus, then 2 hours by boat, and now we got to the beautiful beach of Koukonaris with golden sand. We swam in the sea, sunbathed for about 2 hours, after which we boarded a boat and headed directly to the residential part of the island. On about. Skiathos filmed the film "Mamma Mia", as evidenced by the numerous posters of this film. The city is charming, with many restaurants, souvenir shops, beautiful houses. After the impressions received, we were given an unforgettable entertainment program on a boat with ouzo and sirtaki.

3. Shopping and a short excursion from the northern capital of Greece - Thessaloniki. From Platamonas to Thessaloniki - 1.5 hours drive. The group gathered a large one, they rode on a 2-story bus. The walking tour was short - from the Church of St. Demetrius to the beginning of the square. Aristotle. Elena handed out maps with shopping streets and attractions highlighted with a marker. We had 3.5 hours of free time. I looked at all the monuments of history that interested me and did some shopping in the market.

Regarding shopping, I warn future tourists - products (halva, olive oil, Ricina, Ouzo) are cheaper to buy in Platamonas than in Thessaloniki. So do not rush shopping. And if you see on about. Skiathom something interesting, buy right away, because. you will hardly find such brands in Thessaloniki.

On September 1, after 17.00, a bus came for us, we need to return home. At about 01.30 we arrived at the hotel in Sofia, where we had already spent the night on the way to Greece. Hotel Budapest 3*** - very good, clean, comfortable. Hearty breakfasts. Not far from the city center. On the morning of September 2, from 8.30 to 11.30 we had a walking tour of the capital of Bulgaria. I confess, honestly, I did not expect that I would like the city so much! The guide Irina spoke interestingly about each monument of history, the temple of Sofia. We drank water from a mineral spring, walked along the subway passages (the stations are clean, beautiful), saw the excavations of ancient Serdika, the changing of the guard of honor, went to the churches of St. Sophia, St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, A. Nevsky.

The rating that I would give Selena for this tour on a 10-point system is definitely a 10!
