In the period from 07/13/19 to 07/23/19 I went on the "Legends of Thassos" tour.
This is an unfamiliar destination for bus tours. At least, I did not find a single offer, except for "Selena-tour".
For more than half of the group, the trip began with a night crossing Kiev-Odessa and 13.07. part of the group joined us. We left the Odessa railway station at 07.00.
The first stop - Bucharest in Romania, arrived at about 19.30 at the Ibis Gara de Nord 3 * hotel. The hotel is clean and tidy, good breakfast. The next day we left the hotel, the guide Valery met us and introduced us to Bucharest. This is quite an interesting city, which is worthy of attention.
At 15.00 we left for Sofia, where the next night was to be at the Montecito 3 * hotel - the hotel is suitable for a transit night, but I would not recommend it for a longer stay - the breakfasts are quite modest and the location is inconvenient (on the outskirts of the city, nearby - noisy highway). We left the hotel at 08.30 in the direction to the port of Keramoti to board the ferry.
The ferry takes about 40 minutes to Limenas, the capital of the island. We caught the 4:00 pm flight. Our hotels in Skala Prinos are literally 20 minutes away by bus from Limenas. The group quickly settled in two hotels - Elektra 3 * and Philoxenia 2 *, and closer to 18.00 most of the tourists rested on the beaches.
I lived in Philoxenia 2* and am very happy with my choice. The hotel is worthy of 4 * because of the neat condition, cleanliness, delicious and hearty breakfasts. The owner Anastasis is very well-mannered and decent. I have not heard negative reviews about the hotel from the tourists of our group. A very soulful place.
Skala Prinos is a modest place, there are small supermarkets, good beaches.
A large supermarket is located in the neighboring village of Skala Rachoni, it is literally 2.8 km.
For any trip you can rent a bike / motorcycle / car.
For relaxation, I chose Yalos beach. It is literally 600-700m from the hotel. On the beaches you can buy, for example, a frappe for 2.5-3 euros and stay on a sunbed with an umbrella for the whole day. There are few people, almost all the beaches are half empty, if not completely empty. This is a big plus, because. you can relax in peace and quiet.
It is convenient that in Skala Prinos there is a port from where you can visit, for example, Kavala. Also nearby there is a bus stop in Limenas (18-20 km) and Limenaria (in the south of the island).
The tour operator offered several excursions to choose from. I opted for an overview of the island. The tour guide Ekaterina spent her well. We visited:
- Limenas - the capital of the island, an interesting town with a port, an archaeological museum and many souvenir shops with interesting offers.
- the village of Panagia is a wonderful place! You find yourself in real Greece with the cutest taverns, houses! In the village there are streams with the purest running water. In addition, we were in the oil mill and saw how olive oil was made before and is now being produced. There is a shop at the oil mill where you can buy olive oil at good prices in different volumes, containers, as well as products for the face, hair, body based on the same olive oil.
- swam on the Golden Beach with the purest water.
- after lunch we went to the monastery of St. Archangel Michael. This is an insanely beautiful place! And in the distance you can see the city of Athos.
At 08.30 am the next day we left for the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia. Guide Sophia gave a short tour, gave 40 minutes of time to visit Bill's supermarket and the Bulgarian rose company store. At 15.00 we boarded the bus towards the Romanian border and spent the night at our last hotel in Ruse, Teodora Palace 3*. This is a very nice hotel, the only downside is 1 small elevator. Rooms are comfortable, breakfast was good.
On July 22, after breakfast, we left for Ukraine. During the day we passed the borders with Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and around 18.00-18.30 we were in Ukraine. We arrived in Odessa closer to 24.00, and to Kyiv - at 06.30 in the morning the next day.
The trip went very well, without any mishaps. The tours are very interesting and informative.
The head of the group, Alla Bernasovskaya, is attentive, smart and sociable.
I have been traveling with Selena Tour since 2014. and satisfied with the service, interesting offers and the ability to work with tourists.
Thank you Selena for a great vacation!
