Good afternoon!
We traveled by bus with the Sakums travel agency to Italy. Departure - 23.04.2012. And I decided to make some notes and wishes to those who are just planning or are already going to go on such a tour.
The most important thing is that our trip was successful in everything - a wonderful accompanying Katerina Baghdasaryan (everything was thought out on her part, responsible), a very comfortable bus and professional drivers (even now I remember their names - Robert and Valery Panov), a thoughtful interesting route (nothing extra, there is no overpayment anywhere, and after the end of the tour, my husband and I didn’t say “this was superfluous, you didn’t have to pay here or the like”), a good warm team of vacationers (our tour fell on school spring break, and with us in the group it was about 22 children from 8 to 15. Luckily, the children were brought up, listened to everything and behaved like adults, self-confident people. Not that it was not a shame to be with them, but even pleasant).
And now for the points:
1. I recommend everyone to relax on the first day in Egerszalok, even if you don't like swimming. Very cool relaxation. The water there is of different temperatures, and most importantly, these are natural sources, without any disinfectants. Simply heavenly vacation! Also on the way we stopped in Eger for a wine tasting. I can recommend going to the tasting (my husband said that almost all the wine was very tasty), but I don’t recommend taking cans of wine home - it’s not at all the same as at the tasting. But there you can taste delicious goulash soup separately from the group. 2 large portions cost us 8 euros, but it was worth it!
2. I recommend to all romantics a night boat trip on the Danube in Budapest. Very mesmerizing! The most beautiful Parliament in Europe in the lights of illumination. And if you look up, you can see bright driving stars - these are birds that are hit by light, flutter over the building. Take a camera with good lenses and a lens - there is something to shoot! To the article, it is difficult to find a normal place for “a meal” in Budapest - there are many beer, pizzerias and other snack establishments, but we did not succeed in finding a restaurant with goulash soup. And for the future on water - buy water not in city centers, but somewhere near hotels. Necessarily in large bottles, and pour into small ones and take them with you on excursions. And eat heartily in hotels for breakfast (no one has ever stopped this)
3. The excursion in Slovenia did not remain in my memory - there are few bright sights in the city. And although my husband says that he liked it, I consider the center of Ljubljana to be the center of some region of Ukraine Let everyone forgive me, who has a different opinion! We dined in the dining room, which Katya suggested to us - quite normal (vermicelli soup, potatoes with schnitzel, light vegetable salad, roll with poppy seeds and some water), it will be difficult for you to find a better one yourself, and there is no time for that.
4. Venice! What can I say - a fairy tale! It is very beautiful and will be remembered forever if you have not been there yet. I recommend already there to try the famous Italian ice cream - the bomb! You haven't tried this anywhere! And if you have extra money, then take a gondola tour on the canals on your own (we didn’t go, but everyone who took it said that it was very cool). I recommend to all girls - magpies to buy all sorts of little things in the form of earrings and other jewelry made of Murano glass. I bought myself green earrings for 15.5 euros, no one passes by at work, they ask where such beauty comes from! You can buy cheaper ones at market stalls, for example, earrings in the form of a carnival Venetian mask for 5 euros. Also very bright. Well, more expensive - only more beautiful! (masks, ties, beads…) There we dined in a restaurant with Russian speaking staff. Our order - 1 bean soup, 2 spaghetti (pasta and a sauce like adjika) and 2 teas cost us 26 euros.
5. Then a tour of Florence - the Cathedral of Santa Maria de Fleuret was fantastically surprised, especially when walking around the city you don’t even suspect that it exists (the streets are narrow, you can’t see anything up), but when you turn the corner you understand - wow ! I recommend to all athletes and not only to climb the observation tower of this temple for 3.50-4 euros. The panorama is fantastic and the photos too! We also visited the Uffizi Gallery, very interesting, but for the record, photography is prohibited there in principle.
6. On the same day there is an excursion to Pisa. It is very short in time, so I recommend taking a lot of time to re-photograph against the background of the falling tower as you wish. It strikes a clean lawn and the number of Negro merchants attacking our bus who sell bags. Do not give in, there are leather things of better quality and prices. We bought a leather bag there for my mother as a gift, if you walk around the shops of the local market well, you can find beautiful things. But the skin can also be bought at the market in Florence (we were not there, because at the same time - a tour of the gallery). That day we fasted - there was no time to look for a restaurant and on the way to the center of Florence we bought 2 types of hot dogs, only one without meat at all, and the other with bacon. 2 pieces of such food cost us 8 euros.
7. Rome and the Vatican! You will have to go on a tour by public transport (be sure to buy tickets in advance to pay for the fare, they cost 1 euro and compost them). The tour itself is very rich, I want to see everything and there is a lot of free time, do not waste it - see everything you want (look at the Internet, write a plan). My husband and I were sitting near the Colosseum before dark to take night photos of the amphitheater in illumination, and I can tell you that these were probably the best photos. Also on that day - a tour of St. Peter's in the Vatican - be sure to dress appropriately, because you are going to the most famous temple of the Catholic faith! In shorts and short skirts, they don’t let anyone in, they stop them and leave them to wait near the entrance. Also a note - in Rome (and indeed in Italy) there are very expensive restaurants, as for us, Ukrainians. For example, 2 servings of spaghetti (pasta, tomato sauce and cheese), 1 serving of bacon, 1 Greek salad and 1 lasagna cost 45 euros! And if we had not ordered bacon, we would have been without meat at all.
8. On the second day in Rome you will only be in the first half of the day. So look what you want and buy whatever you have in mind. The tour is dedicated to the ancient city, very interesting. And in the afternoon - departure from Italy with a stop at an Italian supermarket. I recommend buying food there for the journey (it takes 10 hours to get to Hungary): bananas, sausage, cheese, bread, chips, cookies, water. We bought home olive oil for 5 euros, but it turned out to be not the best (similar to unrefined sunflower), if you want, then buy in transparent bottles and more expensive. We also took capers (also did not work), you can buy Parmesan cheese, Chianti wine, Limoncello liqueur, local chocolate, meat products (with mold), if you bring it, of course.
9. And at the end of such a rich tour - just a divine relaxation on about. Heviz. We came across a fantastic hotel (comfortable, 4 stars are noticeable in everything and the most important thing for lovers of food is hearty breakfasts). I recommend everyone to swim in the open air in the lake. Very relaxing!
I am grateful to Katerina Baghdasaryan for such a vacation, I really liked everything. So far this is the best vacation ever. Emotions and positive are enough for a long time, and the photos are just fantastic! I wish all tourists more travel, bright, unforgettable emotions!
To the article, Katya and I are going to Barcelona in August!
