This trip was and remains the most wonderful and unforgettable! Its unusualness and wonder lies in the fact that once I also participated in a short story competition, and unexpectedly discovered my name as the absolute winner of the competition. After repeatedly pinching myself and after a call from the organizers, I was finally convinced that this was not a dream, but the very truth. I promptly found myself a company (after all, the tour was for two! ), decided on the date of departure, issued a visa and other formalities ...5 ...4 ...3 ...2 ...1 ...START!

On a frosty January Saturday afternoon, we flopped into the seats of Aerosvit's Boeing 737 and flew like birds to warmer climes! (a little later we will say - to paradise, but then we did not know about it yet). The 5 hour flight was easy and enjoyable with the nice steward guys. And at about 22:00 local time, we landed at the airport in Dubai!

This airport deserves special attention and enthusiastic epithets - it is really unique - but then, late in the evening, we did not consider it, so everything is in order. So, all border and customs controls have been successfully passed and a taxi is rushing us to the emirate of Sharjah.

Bright impression No. 1. We covered the path from Dubai to Sharjah in some 15-20 minutes, we had to go 200 meters to the hotel, but it wasn’t there! The traffic jam we got into was not like any traffic jams we had seen before. Locals walked along the roadway, singing songs and waving UAE flags, and cars, also decorated with flags, drove slowly. Arab music played loudly from car windows, young people danced on the roofs of cars and sprayed neighboring cars crawling in traffic with foam and streamers from aerosol cans. All this was quite cheerful and harmless, and the reason for this "disgrace" soon became clear.

It turned out that the Gulf Football Cup was held in the UAE, and on that day the semi-final match took place, in which the United Arab Emirates team defeated the Saudi Arabia team (remember our opponents in 1/16 at the World Cup 2006? ) and reached the cup final!

In general, after an hour and a half, we crawled at a snail's pace to the hotel, went through check-in and, late at night, finally collapsed to rest in a luxurious room of the five-star Millennium Hotel, not yet fully realizing where we were, how we ended up here and what we were doing.

I do not want the story to sound like a diary entry, and in order to spare the feelings of readers-not-dine, I will not dwell on the topic of "breakfast" in detail, although, to be honest, every morning I asked forgiveness from my waist, because to refrain from it the abundance of goodies was beyond our strength.

The morning of the first day, and we are hospitably welcomed by Sharjah.

But, once on the beach of the Sharjah Grand Hotel, we were very surprised - almost the entire beach was reading Dontsova! : ) In short, it turned out that the beach hotels are mostly populated by tourists from Russia. Later, we were no longer surprised by the question of taxi drivers “Are you from Russia? ". “No, we are from Ukraine! We proudly answered! Yes, so let's go back to the Persian Gulf. The water turned out to be extremely kind and warmed up to 18-20 degrees, the sun definitely intended to “tan” us 100%.

In general, I really didn’t want to leave the beach on this hot January day, but I had to! Firstly, in order not to get a sunburn, and secondly, for this day we had a tour of…

; which means Dubai! Surely, many of our fellow citizens who do not know the geography and history of the UAE have heard and know the name Dubai. The Emirate of Dubai really impresses with its brilliance and dimensions in length, width and height!

Our sightseeing tour lasted 4 hours, during which a cheerful guide named Igor chatted incessantly, and we managed to see, learn and feel a lot. Here they are - the symbols of Dubai, the Emirates Towers twin towers, the world's only seven-star Parus hotel, the 800-meter record-breaking skyscraper under construction, the palace of Sheikh Zayed, the first ruler of Dubai, restored to its original form. Then there were exotic camel races with their not very funny, but also very exotic history, a museum of the history of the UAE and their rapid prosperity in just 30 years, which left more questions than answers ...(questions like "How can we equip Ukraine" now do not let you sleep on nights). We crossed on the national boats "Abra" along the canal drawn from the Persian Gulf, and again the bus rushed us through the already evening sparkling lights of the dream city, the city-symbol of luxury Dubai.

The next day, the Dubai Shopping Festival was on the agenda. Although it is Dubai, it takes place in the place of Global Village, 30 kilometers from Dubai. The festival is something like a big park with attractions, concert venues and, of course, trade pavilions from different countries. The whole of Asia, the Middle and Far East, Western and Eastern Europe, and Africa were represented there. The scale of this event can be imagined if we say that 8 hours were not enough for us to go around the pavilions of all countries. Without exaggeration, I wanted to buy literally everything! But we spent most of our hard-earned dirhams : ) in the Japanese and Indian (copies of the Taj Mahal) pavilions, and with packages (4 in each hand) of completely exclusive rags, we made our way to the exit, as the last bus left at 24-00 to Sharjah.

This evening we were “lucky” again!

No, of course, we love football very much ...In short, the final match of the Gulf Cup took place that day, and “ours” won against the Oman team and took this same cup for the first time in 20 years! Needless to say, what happened on the streets! Again, we drove some 100 meters to the hotel for 3 hours, I don’t know what to do - whether to fall asleep right in a taxi or dance on the roof of the car, as the local youth did. Late at night, we finally got to our hotel with the same deep confidence that we will now be rooting for the UAE football team for life!

In the next couple of days, we again sunbathed and swam on the beach, again walked around Dubai's shops, of course, visited the famous gold bazaar, from which it still shines in the eyes! ! ! The beauty, variety and quantity of jewelry struck us to the very heart ...As I don’t remember which of the classics used to say, “diamonds are a girl’s best friend” : )

I really want to insert into the story the phrase “And in the long winter evenings we sat at the hotel window, drank tea with dates and admired the nightly beauty of Sharjah. » True, long evenings did not work out, since life in the Emirates is evening-night, and even many shops open at 5 pm. Therefore, we returned to the hotel quite late, and, given the never-ending solemn processions of football fans, frankly, very late. But still, there was tea with dates (mmm, yummy! ) at the window with a gorgeous view of the city at night!

So 5 days of our vacation passed, and it remains to write about the last day, which turned out to be very eventful. We went on a trip to the Indian Ocean! Interest was represented not only by the ultimate goal, but by the whole excursion.

The path was long, more than 2 hours and ran through the emirates of Sharjah and Fujairah, then in one place we even drove through a piece of the neighboring state of Oman, and again entered the territory of the emirate of Sharjah, to which our final destination belongs - the city of Korfakan. Our guide was a charming girl Kira, and from her during the tour we received answers to a lot of questions that arose during our stay in this mysterious country. We drove through a real desert, the same as 50 years ago was on the site of today's streets, built up with skyscrapers, we saw oases with plantations of date palms. In the mountains of Fujairah we made a stop at the market of Persian carpets, admired the real handmade masterpieces, felt and even bargained for the fullness of sensations.

The Indian Ocean met us with cloudy weather and warm +22 degrees water.

The ocean struck with rich colors from turquoise to dark blue and an abundance of all living creatures in it such as starfish, eels and crayfish in shells. The program of our luxurious vacation included an equally luxurious lunch in a restaurant with an abundance of seafood, fruits and uniquely fragrant Arabic tea.

And when we returned, another small miracle happened. For us, this is a completely normal and not very pleasant phenomenon - rain. But it doesn't rain in the UAE. In a year, 2-3 rains can fall, and in another year, not a single one. And we are lucky again! During the return trip, a real downpour began in the country, which the locals had not seen for many years, and when it ended, a rainbow hung over the mountains, which many of them saw only in pictures!

On such a "rainbow" note, our vacation in this amazing country almost ended.

Surely, we didn’t know everything about the Emirates, we didn’t see many sights, we didn’t hear something, we didn’t feel, we didn’t try ...But, the main thing that struck in this Arab country and penetrated into the very heart - how they love their country! Let it sound pathetic, but we saw an example of sincere and selfless love for the Motherland! Now I often think about this on long winter evenings, about the secrets of this innate patriotism, which, probably, lie in the religion of Islam itself, in a special upbringing and, perhaps, even in a warm climate. After all, we all love the sun so much and become kinder when it's warm ...

Kyiv met us with a frost of -7 degrees, snow, wind and a blizzard. But this did not dampen our spirits. Vivid impressions, warm sensations, tan on the body and photos remained, as they say, in our hearts! : )
