Let's go back to the hotel, on the site of the hotel itself there are old photos of the lobby, the restaurant, apparently not so long ago there was a renovation, because. everything is updated and designed in turquoise-green tones. The staff at the hotel are very polite and helpful. Nice faces. They do their job quite well. Let's go back to the number. As I said earlier, we came across 3 rooms located nearby. All these rooms are connected, with an interior door, if desired, the staff will give you access to freely visit each other at any time of the day. The rooms are large enough, the photos on the site match reality. Shabby furniture, dirty smudges on the walls were not observed. The room has a small equipped kitchen, everything worked properly, at first we could not deal with the stove, but then we managed to defeat it. I must say right away that we initially chose an apartment-type hotel in order to be able to feed the child with adapted food at any time. Bed linen was changed 4 times in a week! Towels every day. The site gives information that Wi-Fi in the rooms is paid, in fact it turned out to be free, the code is issued at the reception and use it as much as you want. Cleaning was also meticulous, especially after leaving a tip. The air conditioning system in the rooms is individual. On the first night, the noise of the hotel's air conditioning systems working on the 8th floor (above us) was a little disturbing. But we came happy and tired, fell asleep and did not hear anything later. The hotel has a small swimming pool, 4 umbrellas, 12 sun loungers. Towels are provided. Opening hours from 7.00 to 22.00. There is a small gym and a sauna. Everything is free. The hotel is located in the Hindu quarter (the street is dirty in itself), there are several good supermarkets nearby. Al Fahidi Metro Station is 800 meters away. It could be closer, especially when you come back, but these are trifles, it’s also nice to take a walk. Near the subway there is a McDonald's and a Day to Day souvenir shop. Not far from the hotel there is an Iranian restaurant Caspian, reasonable prices, good food. Here is a brief overview of the Savoy Central Hotel. We really liked him. This is not our first trip to the UAE, before that we stayed at the Deira Fortuna Grand Hotel and the Grand Hotel Sharjah. This time we chose the Bur Dubai area and, in principle, did not regret it. I hope I didn't bore anyone with my long story! Have a good holiday everyone!
The three of us came to rest. Girls. 45-23-16 years old. As soon as we left the airport, we breathed in the warm, moist air. Oooo nice. Our heat does not compare with the Emirati. I'm glad there. In general, everything is clean. But sometimes I didn't understand where I was - in China or in India? ? They are the only ones around. But it does not matter) when there is such beauty around. I liked absolutely everything. And the city and the sea, and people, and transport. Dubai is like nothing else. There are lovers of India and asshole, and there are lovers of the Emirates, ideality and civilization. Everywhere luxury, neatness, cleanliness and cleaning are constantly maintained. Transport for people, not for potatoes, as in Russia and Ukraine. In General, she returned home and was upset. Souvenir products (towers, figurines of all sorts) are the same everywhere. So buy in simple markets. No need to overpay in malls or individual points. Everything is made in China.
2. Accommodation and room - 5-
We arrived at about 22-00, settled in a couple of minutes in room 511, the view from the window can be said no. Opposite the house, and to the side there is a road, but it doesn’t matter at all, since we crawled up and slept)), room 2 places + extra bed. The room is excellent. The furniture is beautiful, clean, looked very decent. The room has everything you need. Very well thought out. The only thing was that the refrigerator was weak. The hotel is quiet and peaceful, everywhere smells good. I love it when it is.
3. Nutrition - 5+
We left breakfast very satisfied. There is something for everyone there. Every day and pastries a little and vegetables, and sausage, and meat, Indian dishes. Yoghurts are crazy. Fruits (watermelon, bananas, oranges, pineapple, grapes). Coffee, tea, milk cream, dry breakfasts. Well, just eat - I don't want to. I don't understand how you can be dissatisfied. The breakfast was enough until the evening. Since they were mostly on the beach until 14-15. Returning to the room quickly snack and walk!
4. Personnel - 5
I don’t like intrusions into my personal space, so I started cleaning 2-3 times per week of rest. Cleaning is normal. Added shampoos and gels. Towels. Changed bed linen. The boys are quiet, polite, friendly. They always smile, offer help, but at the same time they are not intrusive, which I really appreciate.
5. Territory - 5
The hotel has no territory. After all, this is a city hotel and there are lively streets around. Rooftop swimming pool. I liked the view from the roof. Especially at night, you can see the most beautiful - Burj Khalifa and many other skyscrapers. Very beautiful, I could stand for a long time to watch and hear the noise of the city. The pool is ok. Sunbeds umbrellas towels - everything is on the roof. There are usually not many people. And sometimes it wasn't at all. The hotel area is some kind of working Hindu quarter. But we quickly got used to it. I like it. In the immediate vicinity of the exchanger, supermarkets. Metro station with 10-15 minutes. I even enjoyed walking.
6. Sea and beach - 5 points Open beach.
I write about the beaches we visited.
Paid Jumeirah Park. Well, yes, the park is beautiful, well, yes, greenery. BUT! The beach is large, umbrellas are allowed to be placed only far from the water. Until you reach the sea, you can die. The sand, although it was sort of cleaned, but it is all in gobies. Urn was not around, did not even see. The water is dirty in lumps of some kind, because some kind of creepy black vegetation begins five meters away !!! ! And nowhere to swim! Just go in and stand up to your chest. And when you are in the water, your things and the beach itself are absolutely invisible, because it is behind a mountain of sand. On the right, a construction ship rumbles and makes noise. Toilets and changing rooms, WHICH I DID NOT GET INTO, are located 2 kilometers from all vacationers! Well, develop this rest? We left the beach, went into the locker room, I looked - the floor was wet mixed with sand, gaskets were glued on the walls and doors, fu sour and left. I'm sure this is our tourists' handiwork. In short, the exit from the beach was 20 minutes !! ! Well, not convenient at all! Everything is too far!
Open Jumeirah Beach, which is free. My favorite beach! First, it is much closer to the hotel. Secondly - the purest water without a single mote like in a pool! You can swim far away -- everything is transparent and pleasant ! The shore is visible from the water, behind the Burj Khalifa. The beach is visible. Toilets and changing rooms and showers are closer and there are more of them. 3 minutes and you are already on the road and in a taxi! There are some grocery stores. I really liked this beach. The lagoon itself is 100 times better than on a paid one. Definitely.
Beach public City, near the Burj Al Arab (Sailboat), We got there after 17-00. And stayed until dark. It's just divine! How beautiful it is! This is an endless clean beach! With an awesome entry, go to the depth longer, 50 meters, And what kind of sunsets are there ! ! And here we are on the beach, fresh breeze, Sail. . . Hotel wave. . . Sunset. . . Calm Persian Gulf. . . mmm.... It was the best beach day. . .
Wild Wadi water park. 2 points as in comparison! 3 points in place.
I was so looking forward to going there... everyone praises him so much, but! I'm disappointed ! Only 1 normal slide with a kamikaze floor falling through and that's it ! ! 1 more family and for the lazy! Just sad! I was hoping for variety and extreme! In Ukraine, water parks are much cooler!
Thanks for attention. I wrote in a hurry. Sorry for mistakes.
I fell in love with Dubai at first sight, forever and irrevocably.
Internet:
There is no wifi in this hotel. I had high hopes for communication in Skype (Skype is in the smartphone), but unfortunately they did not come true. There are three computers at the reception, you can use the Internet for free, but again they do not have Skype. A power cord was brought into the room, so you can also use the Internet in the room, but most likely for a fee. So take a laptop for skype.
A television:
The TV in the room is good, but nothing to watch. In addition to local channels, there are a couple of English-language news channels and one French-language news channel. There are no music channels - probably local censorship does not allow, because. girls' clothes are often, to put it mildly, short. So, you can forget about the TV for the rest.
Currency exchange:
Leave the hotel, turn left and after 150 meters on the other side of the road there is a bank branch.
The shops:
Exit the hotel, turn left and after 40 meters on this side of the road there is a grocery market with a good selection and prices. There is also a similar market on the other side of the road behind the bank branch.
Buying souvenirs:
Relatively close to the hotel there is the Fort Museum (by taxi there is a minimum salary of -10 AED), which I recommend visiting, and a little behind it there is a market with souvenirs and a pier for small motor boats that cost 1 AED. transport people to the other side of the bay. Souvenirs can be bought both near the pier and in shops on the other side of the bay. I didn’t really compare prices, but we found magnets on the other side of the bay at half the price than on this side on the pier.
Shopping:
We did not do shopping, the purpose of the trip was exclusively educational - recreational. On the other side of the bay there is a gold market, fur coats are offered at every turn. A bunch of boutiques where prices are lower than in boutiques in malls. Watch stores with original watches and good fakes are nearby (most likely they have one owner). Shopping maniacs have a place to roam.
Alcohol:
There are no liquor stores. In the nearby food market, non-alcoholic beer Bavaria is available. So those who want to drink need to stock up in advance at Duty Free at Dubai Airport. Whiskey Grants, Teacher's - $ 18 a liter. They say that alcohol is expensive in large hotels, but we didn’t want to go there.
Well, I'll add some photos.
The hotel is located in the Bar Dubai area in the Indian quarters. By the way, there is an excellent review about the hotel, which is located nearby and which was very useful to me: http://www.turpravda.com/ae/dubay/Palm_Beach_Hotel-h8698-r66077.html Thank you so much Pe4kin for your efforts!
I repeat that the location of the hotel in the Indian quarter is not a minus, but a huge plus, because. markets and restaurants are mainly oriented to local Indians, and therefore the prices are very democratic. And don't be scared - the Hindu area does not mean a dirty area - there are no dirty areas in Dubai, it seems.
The hotel is excellent. It has 7 floors for vacationers (without the first, on which the reception). The first six are non-smokers and the seventh is smokers. Rooftop pool indoor poolside gym and sauna. Gym, swimming pool and sauna free of charge for residents from morning to 22.00. I will make a reservation that during our vacation the hotel was empty, so there were relatively few people in the restaurant, in the pool and on the bus to the beach. But on the last day, vacationers came in large numbers, and therefore the restaurant felt strained with seats.
There is a free shuttle to the beach - from 10.00 to 14.00. They take you to the nearest free beach. The beach is excellent, but if the day is sunny, then upon arrival at the beach at 10.15 you most likely will not have enough umbrellas that are rented on the beach. (small AED 5, large AED 10, towel AED 5, lounger AED 15). Therefore, you either need to go to the beach earlier by taxi (23 AED) or have your own umbrella. Without an umbrella bad, almost impossible. The sun is fierce, and since in Dubai I have not burned anywhere else, although I was in the shade all the time.
Once we went to the paid Al mamzar beach (taxi 28 AED, entrance - 5 AED). They charge a fee there not because the beach is better (I personally liked the beach more than the one they took from the hotel), but because the beach is adjacent to a chic park area, which is definitely worth a walk.
Again about the hotel. At the reception, they do not speak Russian at all and do not understand. Be prepared for the fact that you will be required to have at least minimal knowledge of English. We took a room on the 7th floor for smokers. I don’t know, maybe that’s why, but our room turned out to be one and a half times larger than the non-smoking room on the 6th floor, in which two more members of our family lived.
The room was excellent, large, air conditioning with control in the room and very powerful - 5 min. and it's already cold.
The tour was taken from a Russian-speaking girl who represented the host - a sightseeing tour of Dubai for $55 + an ascent to the Burj Khalifa for $20.
What can be said. The Burj Khalifa is definitely worth the climb. At what it is worth climbing both during the day and in the evening, when the city is lit with lights, and at the foot of the tower you can see flashes of dancing fountains. But I didn’t really like the tour - the Russian-speaking guy, the guide Stas, clearly muttered it without trying, and brought it to several places to take pictures. There were 4 of us, so now I was a little guided by the sights of the city, I realized that for $ 220, which is almost 800 dirhams, we would be taken by taxi to all the nooks and crannies of Dubai with a stop in Abu Dhabi (just kidding). Taxi fare is 3 AED. boarding (in the evening 3.5) and 2 AED. kilometer. Taxis are luxurious - half of them are Toyota Kemri and 25% each are Nissan and Hyundai of the same class.
In general, the holiday was a success.
I liked the hotel very much. The hotel is clean, the service is good, justifies its 5 *. Exactly as in the pictures. The hotel has a very convenient location, 5 min. from the airport, near Deira city cenere, and most importantly very close to the metro, by metro you can get to the center, to any store.
Standard Rooms - Well furnished with everything you need to live there:
Soft, comfortable beds / bed, TV, telephone, Kitchen, stove, dishes, pots... sterile machine, iron, ironing board, safe, upholstered furniture, bar counter. The bathroom is in trouble, Bathrobe, hair dryer, nothing to complain about, only toothpaste and slippers are missing.
There are floors for smokers. You can't smoke in the lobby (you can't smoke anywhere except in your room). Or you can go outside. There are no balconies.
Breakfast is very good, but repetitive. Lots of fruits and baked goods. They make scrambled eggs. I went with a guy, he did not complain about food. There was enough meat. But I was delighted - normal coffee and a lot of fruit.
The pool is located on the 2nd floor of the hotel, there is also a gym. The pool is very small, around 10 sunbeds. Ideal for children. Jacuzzi in the middle. On the last day we went to the pool and regretted that we did not go there to swim. The gym is well equipped, of course I don’t “work out”, but it seems that there are absolutely all the simulators.
A Russian-speaking employee works at the reception at night. Therefore, the settlement goes without problems.
The business center is open from 8:00 to 11:00 Internet there is free, in the room the Internet and telephone are paid.
Advantages
- subway 2 meters from the hotel
- across the road from the hotel there is Deira city cenere (one of the largest stores), where you can change money, buy a SIM card (call to Russia ~ 50 rubles per minute), buy groceries in kerifura, because the room has a kitchen.
- good breakfasts
Disadvantages:
- no Russian channels
- there is no alcohol in the hotel restaurant, there is no alcohol in the shops either, but there are hotels nearby where you can drink. Not far (2 quarters) from the hotel is the hotel Moscow. Where you can eat Russian cuisine, the cost of dishes is from 40 to 100 dirhams, beer 28 dir. , vodka 400 dirhams. Lunch buffet - 80 dirhams. In addition, there is Japanese cuisine. In addition, you can go to the hotel "Renaissance 5 *" there is a bar with drinks on the 2nd floor and a restaurant, a buffet-179 dirhams, with beer and wine 229 dirhams.
- no transfer to the beach (for an additional fee, the hotel provides this service - 100 dirhams per person / 830 rubles). Jumeirah 3 city beach can be reached by taxi 60 dirhams - 500 rubles, or you can first take the metro to DUBAI MALL (two-way ticket 11 dirhams - 90 rubles) and from DUBAI MALL by taxi 20 dirhams -160 rubles. one way (to the beach). The same 500 rubles. for two, so it's better to immediately take a taxi. Entrance to Jumeirah - 5 dirhams per person. 40 rubles, a sunbed 15 dirhams, a towel 10. We didn’t go to the city beach near the hotel, they say it’s not very good there. The cost of a taxi ride there will be 100 rubles, maybe there is a regular bus going there, we did not find out.
