The hotel staff is polite, helped to check in a little earlier, from 7 in the morning, instead of 14, though for $50. But since arrived with a child, had to agree. They also helped with setting up Wi-Fi, tk. everything is tied to the room number and last name.
In addition, he recommended not to change money with them, because. the course is very predatory. He also said that the exchangers in the Mall open from 9 am.
There is a cafe on the ground floor, but we didn’t go, because. expensive.
The dining room is located on the second floor, according to their numbering it is 1. We had breakfast included, the menu is decent. Some kind of cinnamon-scented atomizer is switched on before entering the dining room, perhaps to whet the appetite. Pleasant, I must say.
Both porridge and egg dishes. And you can personally ask to cook fried eggs. Every morning there was Indian cuisine, coconut and some other chutney. There were also Arabic ones - hummus and mutabal. Pancakes, muffins, maple syrup separately, sweet and plain yoghurts without additives. From drinks black tea Lipton, some unfamiliar green. There is also a coffee machine. It is clear that sausage and sliced cheese are also available. I don't remember butter. Yes, tomatoes with cucumbers, as well as watermelons and melons with apples were also in stock. For lovers of fried bread there is a toaster.
The room seemed normal from the outside, but after a full day of living, some shortcomings were revealed.
Lighting. There are switches near each side of the bed, on the one hand it seems convenient, but on the other, when you try to turn off the light before going out, sometimes it didn’t work, you had to go to the bed and change the position of the switches.
The TV, too, after turning on, did not want to show a single channel, I had to ask for help at the reception.
The room had 2 half-liter bottles of water and a couple of tea and coffee bags. Cream/milk was also present. Of the cutlery, there were only teaspoons, which is very inconvenient. Fortunately, there were plastic ones left from the plane, which partially helped out.
The bathroom was found to be missing disposable slippers that were offered for 5AED, coat hooks, toothbrushes, and disposable shampoos. Maybe they should not be in a 3 * hotel, but it was inconvenient. Liquid soap was in the bathroom and near the sink.
Unusually, there was no toilet brush either.
Cleaned the room perfectly, there was no complaint about this. At the first request, the wastebaskets were emptied.
Unusual air conditioning control. The wall panel either worked in a strange way, or we did not quite understand it. But in any case, he worked, without him, of course, it would be unbearable.
Several times an impossibly loud high-frequency squeak arose in the room, we still did not understand why, perhaps from many gadgets with Wi-Fi turned on. This happens when you call, for example, on the radio and with the phone you are near the receiver. I hope it's clear)
Mall of the Emirates is a 5-minute walk, only a long wait for a green traffic light causes slight discomfort.
There is also a grocery store nearby, we bought water there so as not to drag it from Carrefour.
The rooftop pool has a separate elevator to get to it, it is signed on the first floor for sure, and possibly on each floor too. By the way, about the features of the elevator. It only works when you attach the room key. Without him, he won't go anywhere. On the one hand, the elevators are "smart", the nearest one arrives, but on the other hand, if you need to get into the pool, you can wait indefinitely)) Once I even had to ride to the first floor and transfer to the right one. But the elevators are very fast.
In general, the opinion turned out to be twofold, until I am ready to answer whether I want to stay in this hotel again or not.
For information. If someone is going to go to Dubai Mall, then the taxi we got was 42 AED. The same distance, but on the subway for three people it cost 24 AED.
My score is 7 points.
We took a tour from a young man. What did not regret a bit! Very nice, smart and knowledgeable guy. He speaks in a way that you enjoy listening to. Generally rested to the fullest. I strongly advise you not to spend a day in vain. And the hotel is great. I advise everyone!
Money can be changed at the reception / rate 3.42 / everywhere in banks 3.65
You will receive your change in dirhams.
The hotel is quite decent for a 7 day stay, the location is excellent
Food - buffet and service - wonderful
The hotel is convenient that you can change dinners for lunches without warning. The food is good. It is much more expensive to take dinners on the spot than in an agency. The rooms are small but fresh. There are rooms and floors for smokers. There are no balconies. All the tourists who lived in other areas and with whom we talked on excursions envied us. All in all, a great hotel for an active holiday in Dubai. Moreover, the price-quality ratio is good. Let's go to this or Citymax Bur Dubai, a neighboring area.
As usual, I divide my review into parts for the convenience of finding information: 1) flight 2) tour operator 3) hotel 4) room 5) internet 6) swimming pool 7) breakfast and food 8) shopping and souvenirs 9) fur coats 10) subway 11) beach 12 ) conclusion, Ramadan.
1) Flight: AirArabia, all on time without delay. Initially, we were told that they would not feed us on the plane, but we were fed back and forth. Tea, coffee, juice - for a fee, you can order food from the menu. When we flew to Sharjah, there was the World Cup final, so the whole plane was decorated with balloons, the stewardesses and stewards were dressed in the uniform of football players and cool hats of the fans, during the flight they held competitions with gifts, one woman had a birthday, so all the stewardesses came out and the stewards, one of the flight attendants, and gave the birthday girl a cake and sang happy idleness))))) By the way, the weight of luggage per person is 20 kg.
2) Tour operator Labyrinth, meeting side of Royal Park. At this time of the year, people probably go to Dubai for work, shopping, or those who do not know what the weather is like at this time. I knew it would be hot, but I had no idea what it was. When we got off the plane, the pants instantly stuck to the priest, there was a feeling that we were on fire and it was in the evening, the weather was 37 degrees at 9 pm. We flew to Sharjah airport, the whole procedure took 20 minutes at the most, we quickly scanned the eyes and that's it. We were the last to be brought to the hotel at about 23.00.
We were greeted very friendly, we asked for a room with 2 separate beds. The room was on the 11th floor #1126. All rooms with separate beds do not have windows facing the sail.
Russian-speaking girls sit at the hotel at the entrance from 10 to 15.00, they don’t impose their excursions, they answer all questions.
3) Hotel: the hotel itself is worthy for its segment, since when I chose it it cost almost the lowest, only Citymax bur Dubai is lower, but it has a worse location. The only thing that didn’t please me was the absence of sofas at the reception on the second day, out of 8 only 4 remained, and in the presence of a large number of people who go to sit on the Internet, the lack of places of deployment is very annoying))))) Cleaned every day, the linen towels are crispy, The staff are all smiling and always ready to help. By the way, I almost forgot, since 2014 a tourist tax has been introduced in the Emirates, the amount of the tax depends on the category of the hotel, the tax is levied on the room, we were charged 50 dirhams (500 rubles) for 5 nights.
On the penultimate day, we ordered a breakfast box for the morning. We left the hotel at 5 am. There was not even water at the brekfest, only rolls: 3 muffins, bread, butter and jams.
4) Room: a completely ordinary room, small with 2 beds, the third bed will no longer fit, it is better for the three of us to take separate 2 rooms or there are rooms adjacent from several rooms. The room has everything you need: plasma - 4 Russian channels, cabinets, a dressing table with a mirror, a full-length mirror, a chair on wheels, a small table and an armchair. In the bathroom we had a bathtub, I don't know about others; powerful hair dryer, liquid soap-shampoo on the sink and over the bathtub, wipes for wiping the face. Towels and bed linen were changed every day. There was also a dryer rope hanging in the bathroom, but the clothes did not dry on it, you need to lay out things either in the room under the air conditioner or hang them out on the street, press them against the window. There were no bathrobes or slippers. In the closet, as many wrote, there are 10 hangers and no shelves, it didn’t bother us, because. things for 4 full days took very little. The refrigerator is not big and works autonomously, even when the room card is not inserted. There is a small teapot, they replenish coffee, tea, cream, sugar, brown sugar, and sugar zero calories, on the first day they put 2 small bottles of water, then they do not replenish the water. I never mastered the control of the conder, you lower the temperature, but it still sets it to 25 degrees. There are no balconies in the rooms.
5) Internet: I don’t know how it is for anyone, but the Internet didn’t work very well for me at the reception: contact is normal, mail is normal, instagram is normal, but viber didn’t work at all, I called, and how I called, I dropped it myself (((Better with take a laptop with you and turn on the free cable internet in the room.
6) Swimming pool: open from 8 am to 9 pm. The floor is called HC. It is located above the 14th floor. We went there instead of the beach to save ourselves immediately after breakfast, and sometimes in the evening. If you come at 12 noon, then there may be no places, because. it's hot on the beach, so everyone is in the pool. Towels are provided right there. Sunbeds, umbrellas, tables. The pool is quite small, the depth is up to 1.8 m. There are showers with soap. Not far from the elevator there are changing rooms, a toilet, a gym.
7) Breakfast and meals: we had BB meals (breakfasts) - starting from 6.30-10.30. I will say this, I had enough of everything, my aunt did not really like it. There were: boiled eggs, something like an omelet, sausages, beans in gravy, potatoes, pancakes, toast, croissants, muffins, chocolate, jams, honey, coffee, tea, milk, porridge, yogurts, dry breakfast, juice from vending machine (taste like from the package). It was also possible to have lunch and dinner for 690 rubles per person buffet at the hotel, we did not go.
Near the hotel, we ate once in the Emirates Mall in the food court, ate 2 times in the city in Golden Fork, the rest of the time we bought food in supermarkets and had a snack in the room.
8) Shopping and souvenirs: Near the hotel there are 2 supermarkets, one LULU, another Carrefour (on the 1st floor) in the Emirates Mall, both are large and everything is sold there. As someone already wrote in previous reviews, the LULU store has the most delicious Moroccan sweets - where bread is sold by weight, a kilogram of 42 dirhams (420 rubles). The package contains about 8-9 sweets, such a package costs 120 rubles, it's great for gifts! Buy juices in the markets, they are very tasty. As a souvenir, you can bring local dates, they have them with nuts and chocolate!! ! There are also a lot of cool Indian cosmetics, which are many times more expensive here: hair oils, shampoos, masks, creams, etc. The cheapest way to buy souvenirs is at the Day to Day store in Banyas Square, there are several of these stores.
9) Fur coats: this is the main purpose of the trip. My aunt has long been looking at my and my mother's fur coats, brought from past trips. She had a fur coat, but already an old classic model. My aunt has been dreaming about this trip with me for a long time and it finally happened!!! ! Even if it’s less than a week to combine business with pleasure, since the price of the voucher was favorable)))) I have already been to Dubai 3 times, and 2 previous times I bought fur coats in the same place, I am very pleased with the quality, price and models. My aunt immediately said that we would not go to other stores and go straight to where I bought, because. She really liked my coats. They called Elena (the owner of the store) free of charge from our reception and she came to pick us up herself. I myself did not think that I would buy a fur coat, because I have from 3, but I took money for everyone))))) I must say right away that in this salon there are no ordinary classic fur coats, as everyone is used to. The hostess of the salon is a fashionable woman and the models are all super, fashionable with raisins. I could not sit still, I began to measure. I found my dream - a white fur coat and didn’t want to take it off anymore, I didn’t see such a model at all, it is asymmetrical, one side is up to half the thigh, the other is a little lower, one sleeve is made like a bat... Aunt saw me in it, grabbed the same one, but the color didn’t suit her, all the same I bought it only in sand color, I don’t mind, since we rarely appear together. As Lena said, my fur coat is a natural Champagne mink color, i. e. unpainted, i. e. she won't turn yellow. This fur coat cost us $2200, another knee-deep black haircut combined with a non-haircut was taken by my aunt for $2800. I really fell in love with a demi-season fur coat made of young lamb fur, but there was no money for it anymore ((((How many beautiful fur coats there are for obese women, this is some kind of masterpiece, I even measured a fur coat of size 54, so it was good for me and overweight women in general will lose a lot of weight. We also bought leather gloves from Roberto Cavalli, aunt Chanel. The fur coats were put in anti-moth cases and leather burgundy trunks, very nice!! ! After that, we sat for several hours and washed our fur coats with Lena with pleasant white wine )))) We did not immediately take our fur coats with us, because after the fur coats, we went on shopping satisfied and happy.
An excerpt from my previous review, about where the store is located: “This store is located on Nasser Square (Baniyas Square) at the exit of the metro station of the same name, on the right hand along the square there will be hotels-commercial buildings. You will see the LANMARK HOTEL (not to be confused with Landmark Plaza), after it there is a blue sign CRYSTAL fur center (see photo), take the elevator (without a cam) and go to the 6th floor, exit the elevator and immediately in front of you is the ELENA FACHION store. The hostess, as I said, is Elena, you will recognize her by her high heels))) Ask for a discount, and if you say that it is from Katya from the Court, then the discount will be even greater)).
I would like to add that I was very surprised that there were no kamaks at Baniyas Square. Lena said that in the summer they all leave for their homeland. Whoever wants a fur coat is most comfortable in the summer, no one sticks and grabs by the hand, and in the season there is nowhere for an apple to fall from the kamaks! Therefore, it is easier to call Elena, she will come herself and you will also bypass the cabs.
By the way, at the exit of the building you will see opposite the 2-storey building of souvenirs DAY to Day the cheapest souvenirs there.
10) Metro: I still have silver cards with me from the last trip, they seem to be valid for 5 years. They just put 30 dirhams (300 rubles) each, we had enough for the whole vacation, even half of the money was left on the cards. So a card (silver card) costs about 20 dirhams (200 rubles) 14 on the account. Usually you put your card to the turnstile and go through, the money is withdrawn at the exit. The metro is very simple, only 2 branches (red and green). Our hotel is located at the red 32 Emirates Mall station, Marina Beach at 37 station Jumeirah Lakes Towers (there is also a yacht club), Dubai Mall / Burj Khalifa at 25 station, 21 station of the green line Baniyas Square (fur coats, iPhones, automotive market of spare parts and components As I understand it, the 3rd metro line will soon appear, closer to the sea, they are diligently laying rails, I saw it last year, this one is almost completed.
11) Beach: from the hotel they take you to the beach near Parus, you need to sign up for the day, the first day they wanted to sign up for the second day, there were places for 10 in the morning. So there at this time you can die, but they take something around 2 days. We didn't go. We went to it on the penultimate day, which I want to say to a lot of Indian people and others. There are changing rooms and everything, no toilets, no showers. A taxi back to the hotel cost 15 dirhams (150 rubles).
On the second day we went to the beach 37 metro stations, to the beach go past the yacht club on the bridge. I was in this area a year ago, so this year the beach is simply unrecognizable, now there are toilets, changing rooms, showers everywhere; fountains, shops, cafes, a large TV that you can watch from the sea, such devices that you can take pictures of and immediately send to your relatives by mail, benches, sun loungers, etc. All this just didn’t happen last year, I can’t stop admiring this country!!!! ! So, we were on this beach at 8 am and I'll tell you too late!!! ! The heat is unbearable there, I didn't measure the temperature of the water, but it felt like a hot hot bath. We could stay in the water for a maximum of 10 minutes, very uncomfortable. Even the air temperature is colder than water. The only bad thing is that there are no conders in the toilet (changing room, shower), since it’s impossible to even dry off, you immediately sweat all over. Those. you put on clothes on a wet body ((((((((((The taxi driver told us that at this time of the year the water temperature is comfortable only from 3 am to 7 am. And in the evening from 8 pm. And how they found out in the evening the water at the sails were cool, and the water on the Marina beach, the same as during the day - boiling water. Maybe the fact is that the water in the Marina stagnates....I don’t know....In short, for 4 full days, there were 3 times in the bay, 2 times from they were fried in boiling water, and once they were normally bought from SAIL, but there are a lot of visitors there.
We didn’t go on excursions, although a free survey from the operator was included in the ticket, but it takes almost a whole day, and we only had 4 of them, I myself showed my aunt Dubai Fountains, an aquarium in Dubai Mall, we really wanted to get to a restaurant in Burj Khalifa, this is the 122nd floor, the observation deck is on the 123rd, but as it turned out, there is at least a fee of 6.500 rubles per person (the guide said). I also went with my aunt to the Madinat hotel by taxi (20 dirhams from the Dubai Marina shopping center. The hotel is very beautiful, took a little picture and went to the beach near the sail, from the Madinat hotel 10 dirhams.
12) A small conclusion: for a holiday in Dubai, it is better to choose from November to April. We knew that it would be very hot, but for us the main thing was to buy fur coats for my aunt. And of course the weather is quite uncomfortable, I don’t understand how people with children traveled... Oh, yes, we got to Ramadan. The guide warned us that it is forbidden to eat, drink, smoke on the streets until 19.30, that it is necessary to hide in toilets, rooms, etc. for this. Cafes open from 7.30 pm, small shops too. Grocery stores all work as usual, as do shopping centers, except for the fact that the latter are open until 1 am, when the metro is until 11 pm. At first I was very scared by this Ramadan, we were walking from the beach and I was thirsty as hell, I went into the store to buy water, went out, squatted down, wrapped the bottle in a long skirt and drank..... you just don’t go. A little later, we were told that we can drink and eat, that no one will tell us anything, but we still did not dare))))
I decided for myself that if I go on vacation to Dubai next time, I will choose the Dubai Marina area, I prefer it there, because you can walk to the sea. I liked the previous Marina Byblos hotel more than Citymax al Barsha, for me it is more comfortable and the pool is much larger, but the price is correspondingly more expensive. But for the money, the Citymah Al Barsha hotel is excellent!! !
