Can I recommend this resort to those who want to relax in Abkhazia? Yes, of course! We booked a room in the new building, and spent our vacation in it in July 2018. And what pleased me: the room had everything you need for a pleasant stay: central air conditioning system (worked perfectly, with the ability to adjust), a small refrigerator, a built-in (in the closet) safe for documents and devices, an electric kettle, a shower cabin, a glazed balcony . I can’t write anything about the old building (only that the rooms are 20-30% cheaper than percent), because I didn’t go into it, but ours was so cozy, well-groomed and constantly tidied up that every time I returned to it got positive feelings! And what is important: the building is constantly maintained at a comfortable temperature for staying! Before leaving for Abkhazia, I read the reviews of vacationers that the staff of the sanatorium is very hospitable. Convinced yourself. And so it is! Friendly staff both at the reception and in the dining room, and especially in terms of putting things in order in the rooms. Cleanliness, constant replenishment of rooms with drinking water, soap, toilet paper, replacement of towels (every three days, but that was enough). Things to consider: very high humidity in these parts is a feature of the climate! Wet things take a long time to dry. )) In the shower "corner" there is no curtain as such, so the floor was a little flooded, but this is not critical. Dining room. The interior is conducive to eating. )) The food is always fresh. Not to say that the menu is replete with frills, but quite good. Never left hungry or dissatisfied. There are no limits on portions, come and apply. And their pastries are especially good! Reception. You can read fresh local newspapers, watch TV, "drop" your exhausted body into soft leather armchairs, drink a cup of coffee or a glass of cognac in a cafe, which, by the way, is open around the clock! Territory of the sanatorium. Pleases the eye with an abundance of trees and shrubs, a fountain with multi-colored illumination, a playground for the smallest vacationers. Slender tall cypresses, palm trees, even blue spruces are carefully groomed by a local gardener to the delight of visitors. Cars traveling in their own cars are parked in a small but spacious parking lot. Beach. Very clean with pebbles of different sizes and shapes. There are always enough sunbeds for vacationers. Shoes for entering the water do not need to be taken with you from afar, you can buy them in local shops (shops) at a price of 350 rubles. Inflatable mattresses and swimming circles for kids can also not overload your luggage, everything can be rented right at the resort. Yes, but not the smartest. However, and surprisingly, WiFi is very good even on the beach, where the signal is stronger than in the case. Smartphones connect just "with a bang. " Social media fans are rejoicing. )) Occupy rooms with a sea view? Banality, sort of. But this has both pluses and minuses. The sun shines through the window almost all day. . . The balcony of our room was located on the other side of the building, on the north, and there are mountains. They even took binoculars with them, they are painfully beautiful! But the cypress trees growing right next to the building created an impenetrable wall. You can see something through the branches, but only this very "something". Not more. Therefore, it is better to pay a little extra and take an apartment with a sea view. True, tall cypresses also grow there in some places. By and large, the resort itself is located in the old Gagra, that is, away from the center. But for those who do not really like hiking in the heat, every hour a free minibus departs from the sanatorium, which goes to the Sun Palace hotel (both establishments belong to the same owner). In addition, minibuses constantly run past the sanatorium. Five minutes drive and you are already in the center of Gagra. Walk longer - twenty-five minutes. There are various shops in the center, BUT. . . almost nowhere you can pay by card! And, yes, it is better to take cash with you on a trip, rubles. There are few ATMs in the city, very often they are empty, and if there is cash in them, they give it out in small portions (3 thousand rubles each). . ) and even with interest for services rendered. )) Unfortunately, the road surface can please only motorists who are driving. Pedestrian sidewalks are reminiscent of the glorious era of the Union and the military work of the road builders. Sidewalks have aged along with those who equipped them. But everything becomes insignificant at the sight of mountains and numerous houses, which in an incomprehensible way cling to the green slopes and hang over each other. The mountains. . . they hide their tops in the clouds and it is not clear at times: either the mountains are so high, or the clouds hover so low over Abkhazia! During a thunderstorm, it seemed that now all this huge gray-black cloudy "mass" would slide down from the peaks right to the coast. And also eucalyptus, aromas of herbs and the incessant "ringing" of cicadas. Abkhazia is a wonderful place for recreation and tourism.

The food in the dining room on the beach was not very pleasant. Buckwheat and pasta. sometimes cabbage. There was almost no meat. But what a terrible sea is really located 30 meters from the sanatorium, we went there. The beach is small but relatively clean, sun loungers and umbrellas are paid (100r sunbed, 50r umbrella for the whole day). The dining room is located on the beach - the view is gorgeous. The food was excellent, they ate so much that even in the evening the barbecue did not work. The table is complex with buffet elements, that is, only for lunch there is a choice of 2 soups and 2 second ones. Meat every day. They gave little fruit. The food is delicious. The area is not big but beautiful. We had a 2-bed superior room. Looks like it has just been renovated. the room is spacious, large bed, air conditioning is in all rooms, the TV was plasma, not a large refrigerator. There was no kettle, but the girls at the reception could boil some water. On the 2nd floor in the hall there was an iron and board. The room was cleaned every day, but the bed was not changed more than once in a week, but we don’t change it every day at home either. You can't smoke in the room, but you can on the balcony. There was a clothes dryer in every room, which was also very convenient. The children had intestines, but it’s not a fact that they were poisoned in the dining room, they could have swallowed water in the sea, or they could pick it up on the train. In short, I advise everyone for such money an excellent boarding house, and who needs everything at the highest level, then lay out the money. People need to understand value for money.

The territory is small, we went for a walk to neighboring boarding houses. The area is more or less clean, including the beach. However, the owners in such a small area are building another building that goes straight to the road. From the sea, the territory looks beautiful: mountains, palm trees, cypresses. Well, separately about food. Previously, they fed in the building of the boarding house, the food was no frills, but acceptable, everything was fresh, there were fruits, wine, pastries. You sit down and everything is brought to you. Since 2015, they have been fed in the dining room on the shore. Outsiders are also fed there. Hence the constant long queue. If you came half an hour later, then there was nothing left but pasta and cutlets. The food was scarce and monotonous. In the morning porridge and sausages or 2 eggs. Butter and cheese not every day. All main courses were served with a side dish, even stuffed peppers or stewed potatoes with meat. Garnish with pasta or, at best, buckwheat. Yes, and the staff in the dining room is rude, with the exception of 2 girls. In general, the mood deteriorated already at the sight of this dining room. We won't eat here again.

Do not buy wine at tasting excursions, they let you try one thing, but they sell a completely different one, and the price is overpriced by 50% higher than on the market. All this negativity was compensated only by the beautiful nature of Abkhazia and the clear sea.

Resting in this sanatorium, you are completely disconnected from worries! An excellent opportunity to enjoy nature, air, birdsong and a variety of plants on the territory. However, all this is compensated by the calm rhythm and goodwill of the staff and management. My room is freshly renovated, with a refrigerator and air conditioning, which saved cool evenings, there are also no complaints in the bathroom, everything has been renovated to a decent level. Rubbish is cleaned daily except Sunday, but this was not a problem for me. Hospitality is shown already at the entrance to the sanatorium, and later on all issues received advice. On the territory you can relax in the gazebo, entwined with oleander, overlooking the sea, or you can walk 20 meters to the edge of the sea : -). We played badminton and volleyball on the playground. For those who appreciate a good attitude and comfort for a solid four with a plus, this is the best option.
