The guest house is located NOT in the city of Gagra, but in the PSAHARA VILLAGE.
In general, without your car there is nothing to do there. To get to the sea and to Gagra (and back) by public transport - 40-60 minutes one way. Taxi to Gagra - 200-300 rubles one way.

For the same money, we found the best quality housing in the city of Gagra itself, 2 minutes from the sea (150 meters - maximum).

If you open Google or Yandex maps and lay a straight line from the hotel to the nearest sea line, you get 2 km. 900 m. This is in a straight line! That is, by helicopter. On foot, you will walk all 4-5 km along abandoned streets, deserted paths, because there is no straight and intelligible road. And it certainly doesn’t smell of any 1.5 km there - just lies, lies and enticement.

WiFi - one name, because it practically does not work. Distributes 3G from one SIM card to the entire hotel. If you want to wait 2-4 minutes for the Yandex page to load, then such WiFi may be suitable for you. I had to buy a personal SIM card so that I could do at least something.
On the first night in the bathroom / toilet, a meeting with a mouse took place. Mice run right along the stretch ceiling all night. They squeak and trample. A very unpleasant neighborhood. This also speaks of the cleanliness and sanitary condition of the house.

After five days of living, we decided to move to the city, closer to the sea, because spending 2 hours with a two-year-old child (and if you go to the sea twice a day, then all 4 hours) is, of course, inadequate.
We asked us to calculate, accept the room and return the money for the remaining days of stay (6 days for 1500 rubles = 9000 rubles). However, the administrator (Nika) said that she does not influence anything at all and nothing depends on her (therefore, in no case do not give her money - otherwise you will never return it). And the owner of the hotel rudely refused to return the money to us, referring to the fact that our room was booked for the entire period and we must pay for it 100% even if we don’t stay a single day more at the hotel (i. e. , in fact - without the provision of accommodation services, a person charges 100% of their cost).

At first it was annoying that you had to drive to the sea (about 1.5 km straight and about 3 km to the city beach of Gagra and 7 km to Pitsunda beach, but then we realized all the advantages of this place. Mountain river, silence, no crowds, pure mineral water right from the tap, we are like the owners of the villa, kebabs under the stars, Slava's homemade wine (this is the owner, we became very friends with him), Apatskha is nearby, this is how the Abkhazians call restaurants of local national cuisine, everything is natural and delicious (there is half of Gagra local rides for lunch and dinner, and this says a lot. ) We rode new bicycles around the neighborhood, unforgettable beauties (they rented them from Slava, I don’t remember how much, but not expensive, I didn’t even remember)) , they rode them to the Olginsky spring, from there our river just flows, we swam there, it is very invigorating, the water flows straight from the mountain, it’s cold), then you can ride the bikes directly to the sea, a cool path and you go to a wild beach, my husband and I went, I haven’t experienced such romance for a long time). At sea, Slava kindly provided us with transport, drove himself to the beach and picked up on a call, gave a friend a taxi driver several times, went to Pitsunda, a cool beach and a fabulous place, (everything is free), in short, this one would seem to be a minus, then that the house not at sea, turned out to be invisible and all the pluses outweigh many times over. A little about the house: it was built in 2014, everything is made of wood, air conditioners are everywhere, the house is divided into two identical halves, we just rented one half (for 4500 rubles for everything, he gave us a discount, because we are one of the first tenants, it seemed to us inexpensive, for the quality of housing that we had), we had our own modern kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, stove, all utensils, two bathrooms, two showers on each floor, a washing machine, TVs in each room, wi-fi everywhere, on Skype with the family communicated, music center and of course!! ! an open terrace on the first floor right on the bank of the river.... Ah, these evenings on the terrace, with homemade wine, with friends, it’s unique, it would be faster to return) By the way, when it was hot and stuffy during the day (+35), it’s always comfortable on the terrace and in the river you can take a dip, if that.
You know, I was in Egypt, Turkey, Thailand - everything is fine, but nowhere, as in Abkhazia, I experienced rest of the soul, a charge of moral energy, so to speak, for a long time to come. This land and, most importantly, the people living here, they are somehow special, that aura and positive energy from them, really energizes. And of course, nature, this is a separate song: Lake Ritsa, the pearl of the Caucasus, be sure to get to the source of Audkhara, it’s another 5 km uphill, a spring of carbonated mineral water springs from the ground, very useful for the body, sometimes a line forms from the locals, Mount Mamzyshka is right above Gagra, you can see all the Olympic facilities, and if you climb higher, you can see snow on the peaks, they say, Krasnaya Polyana with its ski slopes is already behind the mountain. We went to New Athos, a special place, divine, it is felt immediately, according to legend (one of the versions), the Mother of God raised Jesus here for up to 6 years, hiding from the Romans. There are several interesting places near Sukhum, hot springs (I love it very much)), in short, we didn’t manage to do anything in two weeks, we have to go next year for a month. And, of course, to Glory, to his magnificent cottage!! !
