We were at the Grand Hotel Gagra at the beginning of August 2018, me and two children. Room 607, we were settled a few hours earlier (this is the only plus), we go into the room, take a shower from the road - the stench of the sewage system is terrible, I would say like in the toilet at the station. I reported to the reception, they called the cleaning lady, to which she told us, "pissing in the bath, so the smell.

I reported to the reception, they called the cleaning lady, to which she told us, "pissing in the bath, so the smell. " I say, “how, we just settled in and it already stank. ” She declares, “so don’t throw toilet paper into the bucket, there will be no smell. ” I'm freaking out. Meals "buffet" - I see such a table for the first time, for big money - no choice - buckwheat, pasta, or rice, chicken broth. Well, that's all I managed to notice there, since the whole family fell ill on the second day - the children vomited terribly, endless diarrhea, they barely had time to share the toilet! No pills helped - everything flew out like a fountain right there. A day later, I went to the dining room, decided to wash my hands (toilet and sink near the dining room) - the whole toilet was crap, neither of us could barely manage. Lost about 5 kilos each! And the view from the balcony, not at all to the mountains, but to the construction site, the stench is constant in the smoking room. The sea is impossibly stinky, there is a hotel next to the beach, from it a gutter directly into the water where children bathe! And no one is following this. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. We have been waiting for a response for a refund for 10 days! At least for the days that we did not rest! The children did not eat anything but black bread with tea, and even then not every day! No Wi-Fi - the Internet in the villages is better, I didn’t even upload a photo.

A couple of points from the Requirements for 4 * hotels:
". . . - Technical equipment:
Emergency lighting and power supply:
a stationary generator that provides the main lighting and the operation of the main equipment (including elevators) for at least 24 hours
Water supply:
round the clock hot, cold
(accommodation facilities must be equipped and equipped with cold and hot water supply, and sewerage; in areas with interruptions in water supply, a minimum supply of water for at least a day and water heating must be provided);
hot from the backup DHW system for the duration of the accident, preventive maintenance;
plant for the treatment of water to make it fit for drinking
(in areas where there is no guarantee of drinking water quality);
A heating system that ensures the air temperature in residential premises is not lower than 21.5 degrees Celsius and public premises is not lower than 18.5 degrees Celsius.
Air conditioning in all rooms all year round
Ventilation: forced ventilation system that provides air circulation, eliminating the penetration of foreign odors into public and residential premises
Telephone communication from the room: internal (without going outside the accommodation facility), city, intercity and international in 100% of rooms... ".
This hotel does not meet the requirements, because there were constant interruptions in water, electricity, there is no telephone in the room and no connection with the reception, there is no bottled water in the room, there is NO DOUBLE full bed in the room, only two single beds, and this is taking into account the fact that my husband and I arrived on a honeymoon trip expecting Irresistible welcome (while waiting for the key card for the room for about 40 minutes, we were not even offered tea or coffee) and a comfortable stay, not to mention the food at the hotel - it's terrible! ! Sticky pasta for breakfast, eggs in a different form every day and from fruits, apples and oranges, and those imported, as we were told from Turkey, and this is in the height of summer !!!
In Gagra themselves, there is a complete lack of infrastructure!! ! Curbs not painted, no storm sewer or it just doesn’t work, very few trash cans and my husband and I had to take waste with us to the hotel, because there was simply no place to throw garbage or you had to go quite far to the dumpster, very bad night lighting, few lanterns and it’s just not even pleasant to walk at night, the roads are all in a terrible state, you can break your legs, there is not a single flower bed, only palm trees and a couple of fountains that do not always work, landscaping is very poor, the sea is dirty! it stinks of sewerage, various garbage floats and no one cleans and cleans it, sunbeds are 400 r per sunbed... somehow expensive for such places... In Pitsunda, they turned out to be passing through advertising that there are golden sands and sandy beaches ! THIS IS NOT TRUE!! ! it is a mixture of clay grass mud and stones!!! ! the sea is even dirtier than in Gagra, we immediately turned around and left... In general, dear RUSSIANS do not go to Abkhazia, there is nothing to do there, if only to see Rizza on an excursion one day. BUT IN NO EVENT DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL, except for disappointment for big money you will not get anything, in extreme cases, if you really want extreme dirt and poisoning for a couple of days, go to private sectors, there are at least air-conditioned rooms from 600 rubles ! ! !

We rested in the grand hotel "Gagra" with my family in a deluxe room from 10.06-17.06. 2016, the tour operator was paid 130.000 rubles for 7 nights. What did we get for this money: the windows from the room overlook the roadway (on the avenue), constant noise day and night, just some kind of horror. The air conditioner alone did not work, I had to ventilate it naturally, breathing exhaust fumes from the road.

What did we get for this money: the windows from the room overlook the roadway (on the avenue), constant noise day and night, just some kind of horror. The air conditioner alone did not work, I had to ventilate it naturally, breathing exhaust fumes from the road. To all our requests to move us to another room, to make condos, etc. , the staff did not respond. The food is monotonous, coffee in bags 3 in 1, like in a roadside cafe for truckers, in general, as you can see, it doesn’t smell like stars. In a word - NIGHTMARR. . . All the rest and joy about this wonderful country called Abkhazia is spoiled. Thank God the tour operator then settled us in another hotel - "Raida". It's just heaven and earth. Services, food, children's room, entertainment, restaurant (shish kebab uuu) - everything is at the highest level, as, in principle, it should be everywhere.
Dear readers, if you do not want to waste your nerves, money and time, immediately buy a tour to this hotel, you will not regret it!! !
