Good afternoon!
Let's start with the flight. Pegasus, as always, did not change itself in the quality of the flight - small delays in departure and departure, planes that were close to impossibility (especially the Boeing 767-300 back). And so, in general, not bad. Transfer to the hotel is organized promptly - water on the bus, sale of SIM cards (by the way, at a normal price), a short story about Vietnam.
When you check in, there is no filling out forms - all documents are prepared - you leave your passport as a deposit - you get the keys and you are taken to your room in a minicar. Transfer guide, if you wish, helps with resettlement. So we had a request to settle our company nearby - in 1 minute they redid the documents and the second family was next to us. There were few Russians in the hotel - no more than 10-15 people.
Rooms - we settled in the usual seperior garden viv No. 732. The room is cramped - for 2 people, however, it can be acceptable. For families with additional I don’t recommend a bed for a child - instead of a bed, a large mattress on the floor - that’s all it’s problematic to walk. There is a tea set in the room, a free safe, a TV (no Russian channels), a split system (we have an unfortunate location - it blows right in the head - in my opinion it is located like this in all rooms. In the bathroom there is a hairdryer, sets of shampoos, gels, soaps, toothbrushes, machines, etc. , a small bath, a toilet. Everything worked. The neighbors did not have a safe when checking in, we had an air conditioner leak during our vacation - we called reception No. 100 and everything was fixed within 10-15 minutes.
The contingent of the hotel is the main disadvantage. A few misguided Europeans, a few Russians - the rest are local Vietnamese and, of course, a lot of guests from the Middle Kingdom. The main hotel operates as a transshipment base - on a one-night basis. That is, in the evening, a horde of Chinese arrives by bus, spends the night, has breakfast and leaves the next day. These days it becomes noisy, cramped, uncomfortable. Plus, noisy corporate parties of Vietnamese and Chinese. During the day they are not visible - but at night it is quite noisy - in the end it turned into a skirmish between the Russians, it seems, with the Chinese. (I didn’t understand the fight or not - I overslept everything) It was 4 days before departure. Our people went to Da Nang - they complained to the Russian consulate. After that, everything stopped and the parties and the noise. That's it.
The territory of the hotel is quite large, green - there is where to walk. 2 swimming pools - sunbeds are always free. Asians swim and sunbathe from 06 to 08 in the morning and in the evening after 04 in the evening. So the sunbeds are almost always free - although there are only 7 mushroom umbrellas on the beach. Free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel almost everywhere. The closer to the reception, the stronger the signal. We were in our room, near the pool, on the beach, freely using Skype, online TV. In the morning and in the evening, a surge in users and the speed drops. There is no entertainment and animation in the hotel.
Food - took breakfast. According to the schedule, breakfast seems to be from 06-30 to 09-30. In the period until 08 am you can run into a bunch of Asians in the restaurant closely, smoking is unpleasant. But come a little later everything is free - the dishes are all replenished. The menu is simple, no frills. From salads - what you mix yourself from tomatoes and cucumbers + something locally spicy, Pho soup and a couple of mashed soups. Fried eggs, good sausages and bacon, several types of noodles and rice. Bread, butter and cheese (sometimes the cheese runs out - ask the staff - they bring it). Fruits of the form 4-5 daily - always watermelon, pineapple, papaya. The best of course - Vietnamese coffee - half a cup of coffee, half boiling water and condensed milk - everyone reveled.
Excursions - nothing was taken from Pegasus - the price tag is quite high. In this case, 2 options are to look for a local travel agency or organize everything yourself. Considering that I do not know Vietnamese, English is moderately weak - and a good knowledge of English will not help you - the Vietnamese in the mass speak English even worse than me and with a terrible accent. In short, we found a Russian tour bureau near the beach - Larisa tel 0944210241 - they took everything from them - the price tag is lower than in Pegasus. Firstly, we rented a car for a day trip to Da Nang - to shop and have a look. Lotte March, big c and a few smaller shops. Best of all is Lotte March - it seems you can not go to the rest - by the way, it is located the closest. The second took an excursion to Mount Bana - I advise everyone to go - for the first time it is better with a guide. Deal with the purchase of tickets, transitions from one cable car to another - for the first time there may be confusion. In general, a good long cable car, a statue of Buda, a monastery, an amusement park at the top of the mountain (3 levels deep into the mountain) - half of the attractions are free - half are paid for little money, on average, 25-50 rubles. I advise you to go to the cinema, ride cars down the mountain. Thirdly, we took an excursion to the Cham Islands. We were immediately warned that the tour was for English speakers. There are only British, Americans, Australians and Germans in the company. English instructor Chris. If you understand a little English, you will be fine. Travel to the island on a large double-deck slow ship (one way about an hour), scnorling (fins masks are given out), if desired, scuba diving for a fee (I don’t advise - you will see exactly as much as with a mask). In general, corals, fish, starfish, hedgehogs and other living creatures (those who were on the Red Sea are not particularly impressive) You can catch and take a photo with starfish - then release. Lunch on the islands and back. All their free time they sunbathed on the upper deck - they tanned like hell (but did not burn out). Anyway, no more excursions.
We ate at the cafe. Initially, the guides advised a cafe opposite the Coconut Hotel. Tried with them, tried with others - returned to the coconut. Prices are about the same everywhere. And here, next to the hotel, the choice of dishes is quite large, the portions are large, they cook deliciously - the hostess Hoi is friendly - so we ate here almost all the time. On average, the price tag for three with fresh juices and beer cost 500-700 rubles. If you order turtles, oysters, lobsters - the price tag will increase significantly. The menu is in Russian, the hostess babbles a little in Russian. I recommend Saigon beer is not bad - the price in a cafe is about 23 rubles per bottle. Animals, unlike other cafes, are alive in aquariums - point your finger and they will make you. Good food in the Golden Lotus - opposite the Palm Garden.
Shopping - the choice is not particularly great. For souvenirs, you can walk down the street from the hotel to the left to the city beach. There are a lot of small shops, dubious SPAs, travel agencies, rental bikes and bikes (a bike costs 2-3 dollars a day) You can take a free shuttle to Hoi An (the bus runs 5 times a day - the schedule at the reception) free taxi. And so a taxi (green) costs about 150 rubles one way (calculated by the meter) In the city there are small souvenirs, cups, fans, lanterns, items made of bone, wood, stone, etc. You can buy cheap watches, glasses. Tip - buy when you get a little tan. Sunburn automatically reduces the price. In general, bargain. If the price seems high, feel free to cut it in half or 3 times less - in general, according to the situation. We used to reduce the price by 5 times. I advise you to buy local paintings - we took them in a workshop near the bike parking near the city beach (left from the hotel and 10 minutes to the beach). In the area of the Japanese bridge in Hoi An, there are several thin workshops. The price tag is lower than we took half - but not impressed. There are a lot of ateliers, fabric stores - I didn’t sew, I won’t say anything - but judging by what they have in their windows, the quality of tailoring is not up to par. By the way, the whole of Hoi An is a Mega Wi-Fi free zone - so the navigator on your phone or tablet is very handy.
That seems to be all. The flight was delayed for 6 hours. They extended the number - 60 bucks.
There will be questions write - I will answer. All the best.
