Dalat and surroundings. Vietnam
Do you like to inhale the clean mountain air without getting cold? Do you like to drink sweetish coffee or aromatic tea? Do you love waterfalls and beautiful nature? Yes? Then you simply must visit Dalat!
Before going to Dalat, all we knew about this region is that there are many waterfalls and delicious coffee is grown there! But we did not expect that we would see the incredible beauty of the parks and spend a great day in the fresh air.
When we were looking for how to get from Nha Trang to Dalat, we could not understand why when we asked for a night bus, we were looked at like we were crazy! And even the driver of the rented car refused to make concessions. It was only on the road that we understood everything. The road passes through mountain serpentine and at night it is very dangerous. But in the daytime you will discover the incredible nature of the central highlands of Vietnam. With every kilometer of the road, the surrounding nature became more exciting.
And when at an altitude of 1000 meters we drove into the clouds, it seemed that we were already in the jungle. There was fog around, from which trees shrouded in vines looked out, real waterfalls poured from the rocks and it seemed that we would never get out. On the way, our driver, as if testing us, stopped near picturesque cliffs and waterfalls, and let us enjoy the mighty power of nature.
Dalat is located at an altitude of almost 1500m above sea level. There is always a mild climate, a lot of sun and at the same time there is no languishing heat. The city itself is filled with a variety of interesting places and parks, but due to our limited time and the availability of a car with a local driver, we decided to limit ourselves to waterfalls and one very mysterious place ...Namely, the Hang Nga Hotel, better known as Crazy House.
The architect of this building was the daughter of the Vietnamese revolutionary Dang Viet Nga, who studied in Moscow for a long time, and now lives in Dalat and continues to make her brainchild more and more “crazy”.
The guest house itself is reminiscent of Gaudí 's buildings. According to one theory, it was his work that impressed the architect to build such a house. And according to another theory, she was so impressed by Slavic fairy tales that she wanted to display the connection between nature and man in architecture. But what really impressed her? This you can ask the very culprit of this story when you arrive in Dalat! : )
You can live in the rooms
Then we went to the Datanla (A) and Prenn (B) waterfalls.
Entrance to the Datanla waterfall costs 1.000. You can go down to the waterfall itself along the path, or on your favorite coaster cars (which we liked back in Vinpearl) for an additional 4.000.
The waterfall is very beautiful, and the area of the park is not small, but the distant rapids and the descent to them were closed. So, we only managed to ride the cars down / up, and admire the main waterfall.
Prenn Falls is located in the park of the same name. Entrance 2.000
The park is insanely beautiful, and in the evening it is also empty. You can walk enjoying the mountain air, inhale the scent of flowers and meditate on the waterfall. For the lazy, the descent to the waterfall can be done along a small cable car or along a beautiful path past a miniature lake. There are a lot of orchids in the park. You can ride boats, you can ride a horse-drawn cart, or you can ride ostriches or elephants.
And in the evening we walked around the city, bought a variety of fruits in the market and delicious local wine in one of the many shops in the city.
