Briefly, it's like this: 1. We decided to move to Hawaii with a friend solely on the fact of having a US visa. We flew in June 2008. Wives had to be sent to Turkey  . 1. We decided to move to Hawaii with a friend solely on the fact of having a US visa. We flew in June 2008. Wives had to be sent to Turkey  . We did not use any travel agency. A call to Kiy-Avia - a round-trip ticket - there Kyiv-Amsterdam-Seattle-Honolulu, back Honolulu-Atlanta-Paris-Kyiv = 1500 USD smooth. per person. WE TAKE!!!
2. Booked the hotel through Yahoo Travel on their own. Immediately paid with Visa. The hotel cost 1300 USD for 12 days (Quin Kapiolani Hotel) if I'm not mistaken - 3 stars. This is for two (City view hotel room - two large beds in the room refrigerator, air conditioner, change of linen daily and other crap) I do not advise you to take expensive hotels. Guys this is not Turkey. There are no separate beaches. Everything in common including the beaches - super!! . Walk wherever you want, walk wherever you want. It's the States! After going around all of Waikiki, it turned out that the only hotel that is really on the first line (its own access to the beach) is the Hilton Hawaian Village. If you prefer "expensive" hotels - only here. All other Sheratons, Hiats and other pleasures are at a distance of 100m. from the ocean (via the highway) and no pools and other pleasures like in Turkey. For those who do not believe, urgently launch Google Earth and watch satellite photos. In short - if you want the maximum service quality, then definitely settle in the Hilton Hawaian Village. All other hotels are exactly the same!!! . And most importantly, in Hawaii, you will not sit in a hotel, as in Turkey, DEFINITELY. Moreover, there is NOTHING to do without a car! not on any island. Car: - from 37 USD per day without insurance. With a full package of insurance from 100 USD per day. You choose. Also, I do not definitely advise you to take hotels with meals. Waikiki has plenty of restaurants to suit all tastes. The only thing that got in the way was the presence of local hamburgers (McDonald's, etc. ). Although American tourists eat mostly there. DEFINITELY do not recommend. Although when eating in such establishments, you can shrink to 30 USD per day per person. On average, to eat per person (it’s normal to eat in a restaurant for one 105 kg Ukrainian) comes out to 70-100 USD. per day. Of course, you can sometimes get a job at 200 (if desired).
3. The average cost of excursion tickets for attractions is 100 USD per person. The coolest thing is swimming in the open ocean with sharks (you are in a cage with a mask and snorkel). Around 25-30 sharks. Just fly away!! ! Local lads will also shoot you an underwater video for $40. It's also fun to be on a submarine and ALWAYS take helicopter tours (from $200 per person). In general, Waikiki offers about 40 types of excursions. You can buy them at any hotel. Local tour managers sit at the entrance. And everything needs to be booked in advance (two days in advance). Payment immediately. A MUST go to the island of Kaaui. A flight from Honolulu to Kaaui, a helicopter tour, and a car for the whole day will cost you 1100-1200 USD for two. But it's worth it. King Kong, Prak of the Yurkic period and other films were filmed on the island of Kaaui. Nature is FUCK!
4. The minimum number of days to travel to Hawaii is 10 days. Since the time difference is 13 hours and the first 2-3 days is hard. But for those who like to thump - it's easier. Alcohol - whiskey, brandy - the price is the same as in Kyiv. Beer is more expensive 1.5 - 2.5 USD Mostly Budweiser and Heineken + 4-5 American tuff beers. But restaurants have Guinness! The price, as well as all over the world, is 6 USD a glass (0.5). So upon arrival, I immediately advise you to get drunk properly - you will quickly climatize  .
5. Frankly, Waikiki - like a beach - sucks compared to the beaches, which are numerous along the coast of Oahu (as well as any other Hawaiian island). I repeat - DEFINITELY you need to take a car and drive around the island on your own. The beaches are simply indescribable even through photos and videos. On the island of Oahu, the most amazing is Sunset Beach. Again, Google Earth and you understand where you should go. Surfboards, both short and long, definitely need to be bought (20-100 USD). You can also rent it, but if you like surfing, then it will be more expensive to rent.
6. If in general, then SUPER!! ! Everyone urgently book tickets and hotels !!! ! Yes, you can see nature in the pictures, but in reality everything is much cooler. Water is divine. People are indescribable. These are not Turks with a forced smile. These are Hawaiians, who, in addition to everything else, are also Americans. Guys, this is HEAVEN!! !
