New Year in New York

My family and I decided to celebrate this New Year in America. As for why celebrating the New Year in America is interesting and profitable, I have a whole theory. In short, it boils down to the fact that if in Europe, the UAE and other resort countries promoted in the Russian tourist market, we overpay for a holiday by 2.5-3 times, then when traveling to the USA, only about 500 dollars (not euros! ) per capita. (Insert about shopping). In addition, there is a rare opportunity here, having enjoyed a grandiose celebration on Broadway in New York and having completed a cultural program, with a feeling of deep satisfaction go to sunbathe in the warm regions of the same country without unnecessary border and customs formalities.
In addition, we were faced with a quite mercantile task - to explore and follow the route, developed jointly with our American partners, as a family diving tour. Agree, there are not many places on our planet where a diver can take his family, including the non-diving part of it, without hitting the indicated part in rights and without being accused of selfishness for this reason. Perhaps the best of these places we have discovered in the United States. His name is the Florida Keys.
But first things first.
New Year in America can and should be celebrated at least twice. So we met the New Year in Moscow time in a typical American cafe "Route 66" in Manhattan, where the waitress turned out to be a pretty girl from Vladivostok, who met her New Year seven hours ago. And the New Year, American time, was celebrated on Brighton Beach in the Arbat cafe, famous for its dish, which, according to the proud owners, is not served in any restaurant in the world - a “cross” of veal, which has a truly wonderful taste, the secret of which, despite many years of trying, we have not been able to comprehend. Needless to say, it is absorbed along with magnificent Russian-Jewish pickles, alcohol bought in a nearby store (the motto of Brighton Beach: “It is allowed to bring and drink alcohol with you”), and is abundantly flavored with the deliberately nostalgically familiar atmosphere of Odessa humor, which sounds starting with a greeting in the wardrobe and ending with the songs of local chansonnier maestro Misha Marmar. After such a dinner, the head does not hurt (let's not forget about the ocean air, which is doubly healing for a diver) and now, having slept and slightly refreshed, we are ready for the cultural program. It is impossible to describe all the places that should be visited in New York, everyone chooses according to their preferences. But if we have a program with a diving bias - a mandatory item of the program is a visit to the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CV-11) (material is attached).
Of course, I understand that we are more accustomed to climbing sunken ships. But think for yourself - whose hand will rise to flood such a miracle? In our then Great and Mighty Power, a similar ship appeared half a century later, and no one is going to arrange a museum on it. And the "Yankees" arranged, and still find practical application. So feel free to count the visit as the first dive, you can also make an entry in the logbook!
