Washington is generally very clearly designed, getting lost with a map (free at the reception) is difficult.
In a hotel:
The standard room is quite spacious, divided into two conditional zones: immediately at the entrance there is a large bed with bedside tables, a radio, a tape recorder, a TV, a minibar, a wardrobe with a built-in safe, and then, separated by an arch, a working area: a desk, a small table with chairs, a telephone .
There is an iron and ironing board.
Lots of light, very clean.
The air conditioner and the Internet work properly.
Every day the maid leaves a tape recorder with classical music on - it's just nice to come back to the room.
Also, cosmetics in the bathroom were replenished daily (quality Lanvin in non-standard large tubes) and a bottle of drinking water.
The bathroom has a shower cabin, a bathtub, an optical mirror with good lighting, a hair dryer, and a bathrobe.
There are no balconies in the rooms, the windows of my room overlooked the wall of the neighboring building - you can’t open the curtains much... My room was under the very roof - on the 12th floor, and some kind of uniform hum interfered at night - I suspect that this is a hotel ventilation system.
The staff is the highlight of the hotel. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff.
