I was with my family in May. Before that, I had no experience of living with hosts under the same roof and, I hope, will not have again. The hotel itself is a large house on 3 floors, attached or built on to the owner's. The house-hotel is made, as befits in the Carpathians, entirely of wood. I was with my family in May. Before that, I had no experience of living with hosts under the same roof and, I hope, will not have again.
The hotel itself is a large house on 3 floors, attached or built on to the owner's. The house-hotel is made, as befits in the Carpathians, entirely of wood. But, if their wood is cheap or on the ball, then the insulation - soundproofing cost money, which is why they are excesses during construction. We had only one neighbors, but, despite the wall separating us from the room, we drank beer together and discussed the colorful slopes of Bukovel... And if someone else settled behind the second wall and above us?
The cost of accommodation included meals - breakfast, dinner. Food, to put it mildly, is not dietary. Pasta with onion fried and floating with overcooked butter left a lasting impression!
There were cold "May" and at night there were frosts and even snow. In order to save money, heating was turned on only in the evenings and somehow only in the rooms, so we had to quickly run through the corridor and stairs to the dining room, trying not to freeze. I did not interrogate the electric kettle, although they promised to bring it to me more than once, so I had to go to the owners in their house and beg for boiling water.
What impressed me the most about living with hosts was the constant pressure. Questions “where are you going? ”, instructions to take off your shoes at the entrance and walk around the cold hotel in slippers sticking to your feet from mud; bewilderment why we did not eat these wonderful dishes, on which the hostess worked at the stove, etc.
In the evening I went out to smoke outside near the house. I felt like a naughty teenager when I was looking for a place for a cigarette butt. . .
