We stayed at the hotel at the beginning of July 2023, for a couple of days. The first negative point was the visit of the maid in the early morning. On the day of departure at 9 am, the maid knocked on the room just to clarify whether we would extend our stay or move out. With her visit, she woke up the children and stunned us with her incomprehensible visit and incorrect behavior. The worst was yet to come. We got ready to go to breakfast before leaving, collected some things and took them to the car. Returning at about 10.30 am, we found an open room, already cleaned for the next guests. I draw your attention to the fact that the checkout time is 12.00, that is, until 12.00 we paid for the room. To say we were shocked is an understatement! This is the first time we've encountered such an attitude!
The most outrageous thing was that our things left in the room were not just in one place (such as the place of forgotten things), but they had already been taken apart by the hotel staff, apparently distributed according to need. When asked to bring our things, we were told that there was only one box left, which is currently at the guards. They couldn't offer us anything else. We were outraged. We had no choice but to remember together with the children what was left in our room at the time of leaving for breakfast. We called things from memory and they brought them to us with a displeased look, and they brought them from different places: the flowers given to the child for his birthday were on another floor, stood on the table, already delighted the staff; the sports bag was with the administrator (apparently she liked it very much); a box of sweets for a child - a birthday present, was found in a completely different place (apparently, someone also decided to drink tea).
Then it was even more interesting - on the request to return the balloons, which the child remembered, which were also presented to my daughter for her birthday, they refused us, saying that they had thrown them away. After the arranged scandal, some of the balloons were miraculously found, and they returned them to the child. I can’t help but note the fact that we were gone for about 30 minutes, that is, in 30 minutes they managed to sort and distribute all the things left in the room, clean the two-room suite and throw out the balls. One gets the impression that they were watching when we left the room in order to immediately go there. This mess! Again, we have never seen anything like this. Apparently it was not in vain that the maid came in early in the morning, clarifying our plans. Subsequently, there was a fear that even at the time of our stay, when we went out for a walk around Yalta, they could enter the room and take things.
At that moment, living in a hotel that inspires confidence at that time, the thought does not come to keep an eye on things in the room and check the amount of money. We came to rest. To be honest, it still doesn’t fit in my head that in this kind of hotel, positioning itself as a high-level hotel, it is necessary to check money and things.
Of the minuses, I would also like to note the terrible parking lot, where there is critically little space for parking and a normal exit.
Of the pluses, perhaps only the location is possible, close to the embankment. But again, this is a plus only for those who like this kind of hotel location. As for us, this is far from the most important factor in choosing a hotel for recreation and accommodation. We love to walk a lot. Here the choice of the hotel was based on the presentability of the hotel, but as it turned out in the end, we made a mistake with the choice. For ourselves, we consider important the comfort of living and friendly people who welcome guests of the hotel.
It's great when you have pleasant impressions about hotels where you want to return.
DEFINITELY DO NOT WANT TO GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL!! !
So, we got to the hotel, it was getting dark. Of course, prices have risen a little over the year, but not critically. There are rooms with a sea view, and there are cheaper ones with a view of the cable car. They settled us in a standard room, our friends had a junior suite. Our room had everything: cable with 60 Russian channels, a safe, Wi-Fi, a shower with a radio, a kettle, cutlery, a microwave, a huge refrigerator, a huge bed, a sofa bed, an iron, a hair dryer, a balcony with a table and wooden chairs. The junior suite also had a small kitchenette, but we were satisfied anyway, it’s much easier to please us))
Unfortunately, the hotel itself does not have a restaurant, but this is not essential, since the nearest cafe is within walking distance. The next day, we immediately went for a ride on the cable car and discovered the Cousteau restaurant at the top of the cable car, and in the evening we chose the traditional promenade along the embankment, which is separated from the hotel by several steps and intermediate cafes "Marina" and, it seems, "Victoria". In "Marina" the portions were not for children, but "Cousteau" was remembered for its Italian menu, cheese plate, Crimean bottled wine with a cork stopper, excellent view from the terrace and impeccable service.
In the afternoon, the hotel booked an excursion to Massandra, I also wanted to go to their hair stylist, but there was about half an hour left before the excursion, and we gladly went to take pictures in the hotel's winter garden.
Marble stairs, high ceilings and other aristocratic surroundings made us think about the date of construction of this hotel. It turns out that it was built already in 1875 and was called Russia. I think that only the hall and white marble stairs remained from the old building, it’s a pity that the name has not been preserved, and it’s a pity that the vacation flew by quickly . .
