I was not looking for any special amenities, but it was very important for me that the room had a refrigerator and a shower and, preferably, a balcony (because wet swimsuits need to be dried somewhere). Not all rooms in this hotel have balconies, but I was lucky. A big and unexpected plus also turned out to be the 24/7 availability of hot water, and not according to the schedule, as is usually the case in the Crimea.

The refrigerator worked properly. Quiet at night - there are no discos nearby. Minibuses from the nearest stop often run both towards the center and towards Livadia. Nearby in the yards there is a supermarket, you just need to go down the road a little, there are also all sorts of small grocery stores. There is also a boarding house nearby and a canteen in it, in which you can eat if you wish, but I didn’t need it. The hotel is round-the-clock, which is also good, sometimes you have to return from excursions quite late. The administrators are all responsive, pleasant people, you can handle any problem. And the price for Yalta is simply amazing! ! (150 UAH!! ! in August!! ! in Yalta!!! )
Now about the cons. The shower drain is just a hole in the floor. If the floor in your room (that is, in the bathroom) turns out to be uneven, then the water will not completely go away and will stagnate, and you need to wipe it yourself with a cloth.
I don’t advise walking back to the hotel - it’s hard, a hundred sweats will come down until you climb the mountain and then your legs hurt for a long time. It is better to take minibuses (you don’t have to wait long for them). But you can take a walk down - you will meet a lot of cats along the way, and the descent leads directly to the park and the embankment.
Garbage is taken out of the room daily, and apparently you have to ask to change the linen and did not notice that they were sweeping. However, I liked the fact that every time they waited for me to leave. I don’t like it when I haven’t really woken up yet, and they are already bursting with cleaning.
Summarizing all of the above, in general, the hotel suited me. Price + hot water + fridge - all I needed to be happy. Of the minuses, this almost daily hike up the mountain was the hardest for me, I did not immediately figure out how best to get there (conclusion: immediately ask where the stop is, and where it is better to go on foot, because these are two different roads. )
I think that if I am going to Yalta again and I will be limited in my means, I will calmly choose this hotel.

We lived in the hotel in August 2009 and August 2010. We liked it. Yes, it doesn't look like much at first glance, but inside everything is decent. The furniture is good, the water (cold / hot) almost all day (despite the fact that the hotel is very high, 15 minutes to the sea. And most importantly - cheap.

the appearance of the hotel does not impress, but the prices are pleasantly surprised. the staff is pleasant. lived in standard 2-bed rooms. the rooms have the usual Soviet set - beds, wardrobe, table, chairs, refrigerator and dressing table. for hygiene - toilet, shower and washbasin in the room. TV and kettle can be rented for a fee.

visited the hotel in May 2008. accommodation prices are good. a couple of houses there is a mini-supermarket and a small shop, which made it possible to skimp on breakfasts or pleasant gatherings inexpensively.
the most terrifying was the walk up from the embankment to the hotel. hardly survived 1 day, then we went by taxi. shoes are suitable only at low speed (sneakers or something else comfortable and without a heel).
the Livadia Palace is very close, which allows you to make pleasant excursions and walks, and buy souvenirs.
since we were resting in the spring I wanted to swim. chose the pool of the hotel "Yalta-Intourist". paid 50 hryvnia for a bathing day. this pool is outdoor and heated. very nice and comfortable.
from the hotel "Kinotavr" is not far from the boarding house "Russia", which has an indoor pool.
food was a problem. in cafes on the embankment and in boarding houses, eating is expensive and hard on the stomach. paid from 100 to 150 hryvnia for lunch or dinner. in the end, they found simple eateries (in the form of family canteens), which saved money and health. meals cost from 30 to 40 hryvnia per person (lunch or dinner).
We thought that we would not survive such a second vacation. and now in March 2009 they called all the sanatoriums and hotels of Yalta and made sure that there is no cheaper hotel "Kinotavr". as a result, we booked rooms for the entire previous company for the May holidays. THERE IS NO BETTER PRICE OF "KINOTAVR" ANYWHERE!! ! in principle, I recommend staying in this hotel for an energetic youth company.

When we saw the hotel outwardly, there was a desire to turn around and go in search of a better one, but for lack of time they nevertheless went inside... inside it turned out to be nothing : ), as in Soviet times, very helpful staff, the room got a good one, there were no interruptions in water supply, we are used to relaxing more at home, so for a long time next time we probably won’t stay there, there is a wardrobe in the room, a cabinet with a mirror, beds with bedside tables.
