Calypso Mini-Hotel (11 rooms in total) is located in the town of Elling (so-called mini-hotels, of which there are more than 100). The hotels are adjacent to each other, located in three lines on two streets, there are only a few exits to the beach from the upper lines, and the first line is on the very promenade. Beaches of some hotels in the form of concrete booms with a ladder by the sea.

We had a rest in all homeland in the second half of June. At this time, most hotels are 20 to 30 percent full, except on weekends, when many local vacationers come. You can come without prior arrangement and choose a boathouse on the spot. We booked a room in advance, because we need a two-room, and this is not in all hotels. Calypso has three such rooms, except for two rooms, there is a separate kitchen with everything you need, which was very appropriate, because for the youngest son had to cook food himself. The hotel also has a lovely children’s room.

I carried out all previous agreements with the general manager. We arrived in Simferopol by train, ordered a transfer at the hotel. When the driver met us near the car, he offered us to go to the store if we needed something. We stopped at the Furshet, where I bought water and some baby food. But it turned out that all this can be bought in local stores. The staff at the hotel is very nice, polite, polite. A big thank you to everyone: to the general manager, to the administrators, to the maids, to the drivers, and to the cook of the neighboring hotel where we were cooked. The room is very clean, cleaned daily, also very clean. Only the towels were changed twice, and the bed linen only once in 2 weeks; .
At Calypso we were fed breakfast, and we ordered lunch and dinner separately. The maid brought food to the room at a convenient time for us - convenient, just asked to wash the dishes yourself. You can eat in cafes, some offer a complete meal.
If you wish, you can cook yourself - the kitchen is very well equipped.
The beach of the hotel is not far, my husband specifically set an hour on the way from the room to the sunbeds on the beach (we went with my one and a half year old son): it took 3 minutes. Pebble beach, quite shallow (it is better to have special shoes that are sold there, because it hurts to walk on the beach and go into the water). The beach has its own sunbeds, in June there were enough (except weekends), you can take umbrellas for free. The water near the sea is very clean and warm 24 degrees (measured yourself; ).
One big minus - there is no playground in the town. On the top floor of a cafe there is a swing, so the smaller guys were asked there most often .

There are 4 grocery stores, 3 trays with vegetables and fruits, 1 pharmacy and 1 manufactured goods store (with toys!  ) on the territory of the town. The pharmacy (2 minutes walk from the calypso) has baby cereals, purees, teas, juices, canned meat.
That's just kefir and cheese had to make yourself. Once they came across children's kefir "Zlagoda" in a mini-market near the pharmacy. On the waterfront there is a currency exchange office from Privatbank.

Not far from "Calypso" is the sanatorium "Cliff" with an ancient castle, a large beautiful park, cinema, dance evenings and ...playground (very small and crowded, or rather - many children  ). There is an ATM of Ukrsotsbank near the castle building, we have not seen more ATMs in that area. On the territory of the sanatorium is Miss Plaka, which offers a magnificent view of the Bear Mountain, really very beautiful. There is a road to the sanatorium along the railings and up the stairs, quite high and problematic if with a wheelchair. But almost opposite the Calypso is a passage through the old parking lot and then the road to the sanatorium, which goes above the third line of boathouses. It is not picturesque, but "fast" and convenient for wheelchairs «.
This road will lead to the small local bus station "Utyos", which regularly departs minibuses to Yalta, Alushta and Simferopol.

In general, we liked it. Rest is non-standard for Ukraine. Very beautiful, colorful town. There are no discos, drunken companies too. It is very convenient to have a rest with children, especially in "Calypso". Here are just the playgrounds ... ;
