We rested in Admiral as a family of 3 with a child in June 2010. We got an unexpectedly pleasant experience. We were set up for a budget vacation, judging by the low price of the tour, we expected a standard unobtrusive post-Soviet service. But they were pleasantly surprised right from the door. Our group, who arrived from Minsk by bus, was warmly greeted at the gate by hotel workers in nice uniforms, who took our things directly to the room (! ) In general, the selection and training of staff was very impressive - the team was young, friendly, it was nice to be among their smiles and observe zeal at work.

Not only were the rooms cleaned daily, but the pool was also cleaned, which was always in perfect condition. Separate words deserve the state of the territory, which, perhaps, is not too extensive, but is well thought out and organized. A quiet shady alley with benches and a decorative waterfall, a bar near the pool with tables, sun loungers and umbrellas, a small playground - there was a place for everything. There were not many people yet (the beginning of the season), there were no problems with a place by the pool, there were 1-2 people, and sometimes no one. By the way, the pool is quite serious - its dimensions allow you to swim - the depth on one side is about 2m, and on the edge there is a small shallow area. In general, the territory of the "Admiral" struck with convenience, comfort and cleanliness. It must be admitted that it contrasted strongly with the not very clean and comfortable Iron Port, it seemed that entering the gate, you find yourself in a completely different city and even country. I was especially touched by the thoroughness with which the staff monitored the state of the rose garden, the cleanliness of the paths and stairs, etc. Not only was it impossible to imagine a leaf or piece of paper there, even the grooves between the paving tiles were cleaned!
The rooms are really quite small, but tastefully furnished. The furniture is completely new, freshly renovated (the workers explained that it is carried out every spring). There were sconces above the beds, and there were also enough shelves in the bathroom. I remember pleasant little things - the color of the walls is in harmony with the color of the bedspreads and curtains, bedside rugs and even towels. Everything is designed in such an unobtrusively nautical style, and it's nice that everything is thought out. In general, the administration of "Admiral" willingly made contact, listened to the wishes. As soon as we mentioned that it would not be bad to see badges with names on the uniform of the staff, in order to know who greets you so smilingly, whom you thank for cleaning, and who wishes "bon appetit", as literally the next day our wish was fulfilled , and numerous personnel became identifiable by the names on their chests.
Our other wish was even more exclusive - the fact is that our family does not consume meat and any other meat products. So, for the three of us they prepared separate (! ) For which many thanks to the chefs. I myself, as a hostess, know how difficult it is to provide such a variety of requests, but they somehow managed. Cutlets for all - we have a fish, all meat - mushrooms for us, etc. And besides, fresh pastries, local wine for dinner, fresh berries, vegetables, fruits, etc. The menu cannot be called exquisite - everything is in such a homely style, as if he had come to visit Ukrainian relatives. If it’s lunch, then you need borscht and a main course and a salad and some dumplings or buns and fruit - I’ll say right away that I didn’t manage to lose weight. In vain they tried to visit some cafe in order to appreciate the local cuisine, but to no avail - they could not find in themselves at least a hint of appetite between a hearty breakfast and a hearty lunch or a plentiful dinner.......... The maximum that We were able to afford ice cream and coffee at the exit.
Against this background, a very pleasant surprise was the presence of animators, about which we were not even warned at the travel agency (usually the opposite happens - you can’t always find everything that is promised, but here is such a nice bonus) A wonderful girl Natalya not only conducted aqua aerobics sessions in the pool, but also daily organized entertainment programs for children - costume contests, karaoke, creative and outdoor activities, did not allow small people to get bored, and parents could relax or lord in the bar, looking at this idyll.
The children were of different ages, but managed to become friends under her guidance and enjoyed this campaign very much. Fortunately, the territory is fenced and guarded by constantly vigilant guards, which contributed to parental relaxation
The Iron Port itself did not make much of an impression - not very clean beaches became crowded by July, the streets were somehow uncomfortable, there were only 2 exchange offices with queues, in general, civilization had already arrived, but had not yet won - there were traces of the battles of the local values.....
But the child is in a frenzy of delight - there is everything that is needed for children's happiness - a swimming pool, beach slides, trampolines and no straining. In general, if you want interesting exotic places and experiences, then the Iron Port is not at all what you need; and for a comfortable passive rest at an affordable price - "Admiral" is the most

All that we remember about the boarding house Admiral!
We rested in August for 19 days as a family of three (dad, mom and son under 2 years old). We arrived from Moscow to Kherson in the evening, we were met at the carriage and brought to the boarding house for 300 gr, although it costs 250 gr, the journey took a little over an hour. But the truth can be reached by bus for 20 gr. per person, but you will be on the road for about two hours, this is for those who are going there.
The first thing that “surprised” was a very small number of 10 square meters no more, you can’t go through without hurting something. The territory is also very small, the wind is constantly blowing. There is a playground, but there is only a slide and a swing, and there is nothing for the little ones. Everything in the bathroom reminds me of the 60s, although it can be even worse, I was born in the 70s . For some reason, the shelf under the mirror was at an angle, I wonder why such a shelf is needed, I myself took a screwdriver and put it in place (take a tool with you). There is no nightlight or bedside sconce. There was no refrigerator in the room, but it’s true, when they asked for it, they brought it right away - thanks for that. Of the additional services was only table tennis. If you need an electric kettle, dvd or fm player, then take it with you. When the TV antenna broke in our room, Viktor Semyonovich (I don't remember his last name, unfortunately), who owns the boarding house, told us: "Are you here to watch TV? " By the way, it has never been repaired. On the territory of the boarding house they cook shish kebab at Moscow prices, outside the gates they are twice cheaper. There is a swimming pool, but on a good fine day, you need to take places around in the morning, there are a lot of people in the afternoon. The ticket includes three meals a day, at the beginning of the first week they were fed disgustingly and very small portions, though later, I don’t know what happened, but the food became tasty, but the portions did not change. Drinking water is very bad and smelly, but it's probably not the boarding house's fault. Some vacationers, including us, constantly felt nauseous and sick. Cleaned not regularly, for 19 days the bed was changed only once. What was a plus, the room was very nice, new children's bed. In the village, the choice of fruits and vegetables is very small, prices, with the exception of tomatoes, are close to Moscow.
Beach sand, but dirty all in cigarette butts. There are a lot of sellers of shrimp, beer, wine, etc. on the beach. they shout a lot, it is difficult to sleep on the beach. The sea was good and clean. Dolphins often swam, almost came ashore. The whole range of water attractions.
These impressions of our holiday are personally mine and my wife's and they may not coincide with others! So think for yourself... But we are no longer there with a foot !! !

This year we had a rest (2 adults and a child 6 years old) in the Iron Port in the boarding house Admiral. We chose it because the owners themselves came to represent their boarding house at a tourist exhibition in Minsk, and this somehow inspired confidence. This year we had a rest (2 adults and a child 6 years old) in the Iron Port in the boarding house Admiral. We chose it because the owners themselves came to represent their boarding house at a tourist exhibition in Minsk, and this somehow inspired confidence. In addition, the prices were very reasonable, and we did not plan to spend too much on vacation this year.
Road: we traveled from Minsk by train to Kherson, which took 26 hours (the train just stopped at each post, probably, a car would be many times faster). Our train was arriving late at night, so we asked the owner in advance to order a taxi for us. We were met by a very intelligent driver at the car, loaded us into a brand new Mercedes with air conditioning, and an hour later we were in the Iron Port. Taxi cost us 300 hryvnia. In general, this waste justified itself, because then we were told all sorts of horrors about minibuses, which cost 40 hryvnia, but stand for a long time until there are enough passengers. So in that regard, everything worked out well.
Boarding house: I liked it very much. Everything is new and very tidy. In some ways, the boarding house turned out to be even better than 3 * and 4 * hotels in Bulgaria. The boarding house is located a block from the sea, and the road to the sea took no more than 10 minutes. Most of all I liked the well-organized territory of the hotel: a small but full-fledged playground, a good not very deep pool with clean water, a recreation area near the pool, a large parking lot, many benches for relaxing, roses everywhere, a chic vineyard. The pool has a bar with very reasonable prices (cheaper than on the coast), so we bought a lot of things there (ice cream, beer, coffee, juice, shrimp, you could order a barbecue). The territory is closed from all sides, the entrance is only through a round-the-clock security post, so there are never strangers on the territory. The only drawback that can be noted is the lack of a non-smoking area near the pool. When there are not many people, then there is no problem. But sometimes there are irresponsible adults who arrange to smoke right above the children watching TV.
The staff are all very young, but very polite and friendly. The owner is a man of exceptional honesty. In general, it was felt that customers are valued here.
The boarding house is located in a quiet place, the sounds of discos do not reach it. Most vacationers are families with children from 1.5 to 11 years old. There were a lot of children, and they were running around in a whole gang. Fortunately, the territory of the boarding house allowed it.
Rooms: the boarding house has rooms of different configurations: standard (these are attic rooms, in my opinion, they do not have balconies and air conditioners) - they are the cheapest, there are also suites and junior suites. We lived in a junior suite. We had a balcony, air conditioning, TV, double bed, corner sofa for a child, 2 bedside tables, wardrobe, mirror, hanger, table, chair and ottoman. The room is small in size but nice. For a fee (15 grams per day) we were given a completely new refrigerator (they are only in the suites). Among the shortcomings, it can be noted that both the room and the bathroom are still very small, there is only an overhead light, and there is no ventilation in the bathroom. The room was cleaned every day (if you leave the keys), but, for example, the glasses were not washed, and the bathroom was only swept. Towels were only changed once during the entire stay. As far as I understand, only some rooms overlook the sea, and it is clearly visible only on the 4th floor.
Nutrition: This is the most controversial issue. We ate in the dining room on the first floor of one of the 2 buildings. We were served by very attentive waitresses. 3 meals a day were immediately included in the price. The food was in the traditional style of Soviet sanatoriums, i. e. appetizer-first-second-third. Everything would be fine, because they cooked quite tasty and gave a lot, but sometimes the selection of dishes was just a nutritionist’s nightmare (for example, at the very first breakfast we were given yogurt, a bowl of milk rice porridge, then an even larger plate of dumplings, and then, to top it off, baked sandwich with sausage, tomato and cheese…). In general, the food clearly lacked meat and at least some sauces. But no one left hungry. In addition, very tasty buns were baked right in the boarding house, wine and local fruits were given for lunch. For a child, this food option turned out to be even more successful than a buffet - probably, it habitually resembled a kindergarten
Iron Port and the sea: a village, there is a village - only 2 paved roads, and sand, garbage and not a single tree. The beach is terribly crowded. In the morning you can’t get in, in the evening - only rubbish and dirt, it’s even impossible to take a picture normally. But I was pleased with the large number of cafes, shops, entertainment, etc. on the coast. And the prices are not very high. On the beach itself, sellers with shrimp, fish, wine, pastries and corn are constantly walking. Sometimes there were so many of them and they screamed so loudly that it was simply impossible to rest. The sea was relatively warm and clean. The entrance to the sea is very gentle, 50 meters deep to the knee.
Conclusion: a good option for an economical vacation, you can go again, but, probably, by car and without food. Many thanks to the hosts for the warm welcome!

We were in "Admiral" a year ago, I found this boarding house on the "Black Sea" website, we just drove on a mind (there was no time to think. We stayed there for a week. I didn’t write a review right away. I wrote a week ago. The review was truthful, described in detail both the pros and cons of the boarding house, but... ITS ERASED, instead of somehow responding to criticism and correcting shortcomings, the management prefers to remain silent. There was a desire to return (for 2-3 days, we just live nearby, not far, the road is good), but after such behavior" (that is, we will leave only good reviews or none at all, or we will write good ones ourselves) we didn’t want to go. And you don’t need to change much - put things in order in the dining room (with an assortment (practically no fruits and vegetables, salads not the first freshness), you come to dining room - everything is cold), it would not hurt to buy better quality bed linen, and at least somehow monitor the condition of the air conditioners. Although looking at other "type of boarding houses" this one is an order of magnitude higher (made correctly), they probably use it, there is not much choice, there is another boarding house (I don’t remember the name) that is also worthy, but it also has its own bells and whistles.
