About the unique fortress and the day we went to bed earlier!
I can't believe it, but the most incredible moment in the last 5 days has come - I was able to go to bed earlier! Not at 3:30 and not even at 2 o'clock in the morning, as always! And all thanks to Skhidnytsia and the lack of internet here =)
But let's go in order.
We have been in Slavske since the morning, eating pancakes at the Laguna Hotel and watching the morning mists dissipate and the sun's rays rise on the green slopes. Beauty!
But we did not admire for long, in a couple of minutes we raced in the car towards the Skole district.
On the way we saw a huge statue of Zakhar Berkut on the mountain and the tomb of Prince Svyatoslav, who was killed by his brother Svyatopolk. Can you imagine, after 1002 there is a grave of one of the princes of Kievan Rus? !!
By the way, Skole got its name from the word "split", in the sense of stabbed Svyatoslav. And Mount Parashka is named after the sisters Sviatopolk and Sviatoslav, who according to legend was driven here to the mountain and also killed. Continuous tragedies =)
And although there were many other interesting objects along the way, we can't deviate from the route. Our goal was the village of Urich and "House on the Deep".
It is a cultural center, in the form of an atmospheric Ukrainian house with two rooms, and it collects various household items, photos of the village of Urich and local fights in different periods, inventory and interior items. The exhibition is called "Unnecessary? ». Some villagers bring old things that they no longer need, some things were found in old houses and estates.
Once the village of Urich was quite large, about 1.300 people lived here, there were oil towers in the village, there were various associations and trade unions.
Currently, no more than 150 people live in the village.
After the cultural center we were taken through the village and we went to the historical and cultural reserve Tustan. I never knew anything about Tustan. I only heard the name, but I had no idea there was something to look at.
The reserve is famous not for nature and landscapes, but for a unique rock fortress of the 9th century.
Once upon a time, according to legend, there was a sea and it left sand rocks. It was in these rocks, so conveniently located, the Russians decided to build a fortress city for defense. Finds say that this fortress has been here since the 9th century, and in the 14th century it was in its heyday.
It was not only a fortress to defend the border, but also a customs house for salt traders.
At this time there were trade routes, and it was a short way to Europe.
Unfortunately, the fortress has not survived to this day, because it was wooden. But the rocks have been preserved and in the rocks there are carved places where fences and gates were attached. These traces were able to reproduce a 3D model of the fortress city. She looked, of course, impressive! It is a pity that they did not dare to reproduce it in full. The findings also determined that about 50 people lived in the fortress and all the men were soldiers.
A ticket to the fortress now costs UAH 32 for an adult. The ticket includes a visit to the fortress and the museum where the finds are stored.
Near the fortress was another well, 30 meters deep. It can also be seen here.
Here you can spend 1.5-2 hours walking through the fortress, down to the well and water source.
Neither I nor Sergei have ever seen even pictures on the Internet of this fortress. But it turned out that there are many tourists.
And here's an augmented reality option - you can download the app to your phone, bring the TV to the fortress and see what this area looked like in the 14th century! Cool! What technology has come to! This is the first time I see such an option in Ukraine. Have you seen it somewhere?
Standing place!
And after walking through the fortress and climbing numerous stairs, we had a mini-hike to Skhidnytsia. There is a road from Tustan to Skhidnytsia, but it is dirt and not everyone rides on it, if you go on a normal road, you need to take a detour and drive a couple of tens of kilometers. And directly on the primer only 8-10 km.
And we went "on the road with clouds".
And although the sun was scorching, stones were slipping under our feet, and passing cars were moving us to the roadside, it was quite easy and pleasant to walk.
And after 1.5 hours of walking in the mountains, we came to Skhidnytsia - a resort with mineral waters.
Here hungry travelers were immediately fed deliciously in the cafe "Zorepad". Have you ever seen the price of mashed potatoes 8 UAH? And french fries with additives - 12 UAH. I thought I had moved to the 1999 mountain portal. I don't remember such low prices anymore!
We walked along Skhidnytsia, found the main symbol, looked at the local wedding and the balloon on which the newlyweds were launched and went to rest. Oil was also extracted in Skhidnytsia, but now Naftusya water is the same with a terrible smell.
And we settled down to rest in the boarding house "Eastern Carpathians", traditionally in a wooden cottage with its own bathroom.
While there is such an opportunity, I go to sleep! And I will show you the landscapes of Ukrainian villages.
Lifehack: in addition to the fortress in Tustan there is a museum, and the ticket is valid for two objects. On the territory of the fortress you can download the application Tustan 12 to your phone, with which you can point to the rocks and see what it all looked like. Augmented reality! Also near Tustan is a small village Urichi and there is an interesting cultural center "House on the Deep" with an exhibition "Unnecessary? ». Interesting old things are collected here, which tell about the life of the boyks of this village.
