Shepetivka - on the other side of the station.
Bird chirping, breeze and tent overhead - this is how our new day on the Embroidered Way route began.
We spent the night in tents near the Blue Lakes near Slavuta. The night was cool, but we were comfortable. Especially after such a busy day as yesterday, we cut down very quickly.
They followed us and immediately went to see new places in Slavuta.
We learned that there are old DOTs standing in the fields. We were even able to climb one of them and see the surroundings.
Next to one of the DOTs is a source of youth. To look young and healthy, locals come here to wash and drink from it. I decided it was time to rejuvenate and become Benjamin Button.
And then in my 28 I look at 20, a mess, I need 15! =)
Showed us a memory field. This is a memorial to those killed in World War II. Most of the memorial was sponsored by the German authorities. There is a large monument that arouses interest, sadness and admiration.
And the last point of the tour of Slavuta was the Museum of Local Lore. Naturally, each city has its own museum of local lore, which collects exhibits of flora and fauna, household items of the people of the region. But after twenty such museums, you can no longer distinguish between features and nuances. And in my opinion, our museums are very lacking in the elements of interactivity: touch, try, listen. In our museums you need to either read or listen for a long time from a guide. And it kills the interest in museums and exhibits. Museums need to be modernized, to introduce some quests, elements of attracting visitors.
From Slavuta our route goes to the town of Shepetivka.
Buses from Slavuta run frequently and in 20-30 minutes you can reach Shepetivka. Ticket price 18 hryvnias.
In Shepetivka we were met by our coordinator - Daria. Dasha is still in school and is already trying to take part in any projects, shoot video blogs. So far, we are traveling and communicating with coordinators, volunteers, and direct pride appears for our youth. Now schoolchildren and students are trying to spend time actively, find a job they like, participate in various social and cultural projects. This is great.
And today we talked live on the radio "SKOVORODA" about our route and project.
Well, then we go to get acquainted with the city of Shepetivka.
Probably each of you stopped in Shepetivka. At least in transit, at the train station during a long train stop.
Some of you may have even bought water and cakes on the platform here.
We had to dig deeper and find out what interesting Shepetivka behind the train station.
The most visited place in Shepetivka is the Mykola Ostrovsky Museum. That's where we were taken first.
The museum itself is decorated in a very unusual way, as for a museum.
The most striking is the locomotive, which is installed near the museum building on the pipe. And then you see a round building on a hill.
At first I thought it was a UFO museum. It looks quite interesting and cool from the side.
The museum is now dedicated to the life and work of the writer Mykola Ostrovsky and the book "How Steel Was Hardened". The exposition tells and clearly shows how in the Soviet Union, people were turned into real idols, omitting all the details of life and relationships.
I could even say that the museum clearly shows how Soviet myths were created.
Inside the museum, the exhibits are also unusual, in black cubes, and on top of various installations in the form of shovels, pipes, hammers.
After the museum, we gave a short interview to the newspaper and went through the main streets and avenues of the city. We looked at the place where the Market Square used to be.
Looked at the old Jewish houses. In Shepetivka, as well as in the suburbs, lived many Jews who traded and worked here.
By the way, it was interesting for me that Shepetivka used to be a resort and people came here for treatment until the springs in neighboring Slavuta were opened.
In general, Shepetivka used to have a lot of things. But now, unfortunately, there is almost no trace of that "before".
Probably, Shepetivka is a sheet of paper on which you can now create interesting objects, art space, use free areas, parks and forests.
Now the city's youth is moving en masse to study and work in other cities and countries. And a vicious circle is created: little happens in the city, because young people go, and young people go, because little happens in the city.
But we found a creative cafe and a meeting place in Shepetivka. Most meetings and events take place in the cafe "Partyfon". The cafe is in the center, so it is easy to find.
There we rested in the evening.
First we talked to journalists who caught us by surprise. We thought there would be an informal meeting, and cameras, telephones, and dictaphones were waiting for us at the door. Well, after the conversation, we had a very tasty and hearty dinner.
They brought us such a plate, or rather a grill board, that the two of us couldn't handle it.
But this is not the end of our impressions. In the evening we had a small quest around the city to find our place to spend the night. Our coordinator prepared for us riddles-hints, which we passed halfway through the city and found ourselves… at the station!
Yes, today we had a very exotic version of the night. If before we said that from unusual places we spent the night in children's camps, dormitories, now we will boldly add to the list and the station! =)
But we didn't spend the night on the benches, as you might think, no, it's not so exotic. We spent the night in the living room.
We had a room for two, but with four beds (it is possible to invite more guests =). Now we know that in Shepetivka you can for 53 hryvnias. rent a bed in a room or for 160 UAH. room.
Rooms are rented at 12 o'clock. For this money there is a comfortable bed, a bed and even a hot shower on the floor.
And only the sound of trains and the voice announcing trains reminded us all night that we spend the night at the station.
П. S. Today in Shepetivka we have hidden another certificate that will allow some lucky person to spend a day on the route "Embroidered Way". I think everyone who lives in Shepetivka can easily guess from the photo where the certificate is hidden. And it is only a matter of time who will be the first! So hurry up and get it!
