NOT COLD BLOODED PRO EXACTLY
Past trips to Western Ukraine somehow made me doubt that there is a place
be a quality hotel service. I was in Rivne and Lutsk - they were not impressed by their hotels, no. But on my last visit to Rivne, I accidentally found the “Horseshoe” - and it turned out to be lucky.
As always, we considered several options for where to stay. In principle, one could not be too picky for an overnight stay, but the next day after returning home, a new, already long trip was coming, so one of the requirements for a potential hotel was the ability to sleep well.
They chose between "Orlan" and "Horseshoe". It turned out that "Orlan" is located at the entrance to the city from Kyiv, but is located at a fairly busy intersection and not far from the bus station, on the basis of which a purely visual conclusion was made that it would not be possible to sleep here.
Therefore, we moved on, to the Horseshoe. At the entrance to Rivne at the gas station bought a map of the city, and it was a very far-sighted step, because. without her it would be very difficult to find our hotel. In addition, it turned out that in order to get into it, you need to drive through almost the entire city. We drove along st. Sobornaya, but traffic is partially limited along it, we wandered a little, almost fell into an ambush of the “gaytsy”, a couple of times we slipped through the right turn. But finally we are on the street. Ivan Pidkovy (or Podkovy - I don't know which one is right). And here it is, our hotel.
The hotel positions itself on the Internet as a health and entertainment complex. We saw a restaurant, a pub, a hotel (it is under construction, while there are only 17 rooms in operation). We learned that the territory also has a sauna, swimming pool, billiards. The bowling alley owners are also in the plans. The word “under construction” in this case should not be frightened: no construction roar and noise, no dirt. Everything is very, very respectable.
When we arrived it was ok. 19 o'clock, Saturday, guests were walking on the site in front of the restaurant - there was some kind of celebration in the restaurant. Immediately they read the poster about the sauna and the pool, a little depressed, upset by the prospect of coming back. But we decided to go anyway to see what the hotel is like.
At the reception, we were met by a maid - the administrator boy was absent for dinner at that time. Greeted, offered to sit down, in the blink of an eye called the boy. Ivan (that was his name) asked about our wishes, and although we booked a room in advance, he clarified that perhaps we would like to stay in a more comfortable room. When we explained that the main requirement was silence, he took us to our room on the 2nd floor. For only 280 UAH. we got a small, but excellent room, in which: a large double bed in a niche, air conditioning, plasma, telephone, refrigerator with mini-bar, safe, desk. In the bathroom: shower, hair dryer, soap-and-rinse - shower gel, liquid soap, disposable hair caps. Very clean, white towels. The bed linen is starched. The floor is carpeted. Disposable slippers are offered.
Parking is included in the price (parking in the backyard). Breakfast for an additional fee: 25 UAH. for chela, scrambled eggs with herbs, cheesecakes (! ) with raisins and sour cream, coffee, bread.
In the evening we went to the pub. Very colorful interior. There are a lot of people, but the hall is divided into several small rooms, so no one interferes with anyone. I really liked the locally produced "Jerky" - something like basturma, served with beer as an alternative to the usual nuts. I looked for the next day in ordinary stores - I did not find it, alas.
In the morning we looked into the restaurant with one eye. Also very interesting. Stylized as a knight's hall. At the entrance - figures of knights in metal armor. The restaurant has a fireplace. Probably, in winter you really feel like a guest in a medieval castle.
Great staff. Everyone is polite, smiling, standing up (! ) when you enter. Of course, Western Ukrainian upbringing and culture, as they say, “signs are given”, but all the same, absolutely everyone with whom I had to talk left a very pleasant impression - administrators, maids, waiters, and bartenders.
Leaving in the morning, we regretted that time had passed so quickly. We promised ourselves that we would definitely come back sometime for the weekend, and then we would swim in the pool and go to the sauna. And we will drink coffee in the morning on the open terrace (there are several of them in the department, all in flowers, decorated with wood). And we will live in another room, because Ivan told us that all the rooms on each floor are decorated in different styles: we lived in European style, and there are Ukrainian ones, in oriental style, and there will be burgher and some other ones (alas, I forgot).
In general, everywhere everything is so thought out and the owner's eye is felt in everything, that she could not resist and asked Ivan, what kind of hotel does the owner have? The answer was stunned - before this, the owner had no experience in the hotel business, first they bought the restaurant, later the hotel started working, now the infrastructure is being developed. Youth, huh?
Summary: great hotel for a family weekend getaway or a short stopover on a long trip.
PS: Here the offended and angry hostess of the Lutsk hotel "Maetok" sent me an angry libel about how I'm a bastard, and how she spat her hotel on the entire Internet. I wonder if it's weak for her to come and see how it happens where it's good? From Lutsk to Rivne only ---- km.
ZY. ZY: Exactly I also really liked it. To my shame, I thought that the only attractions there were the Amber Museum and the Zoo. But in fact, there are a lot of things: But, alas, I haven’t been anywhere yet. So I “visit” myself for at least one more trip to Rivne.
And it's a pity that I didn't think to take a photo of the hotel (.
