When it turned out that this summer I would have to rest alone, I decided to take a practical approach to spending my vacation: both to improve my health and save money. Therefore, instead of a vacation that has already become traditional on some foreign coast of the Black Sea, I purchased a ticket for as many as 18 days to the sanatorium of the general health profile "Sosnovy Bor".
The sanatorium is located in the Poltava region, 12 km. from the district center Zenkov. This district center, apparently, is not in great demand among the inhabitants of the capital, and the only way to get there from Kyiv, without having your own car, was the Kyiv-Belgorod bus. The trip took about 7 hours. From Zenkiv to the sanatorium itself, it is really only possible to get by taxi, the standard fare is 25 hryvnias.
Once on the territory of the sanatorium, at first I was unpleasantly surprised by the appearance of the buildings - the two-story tiled buildings looked very Soviet

buildings. But the territory fascinated immediately: "ship" pines with amber bark, and under them - neat flower beds. The name of the resort fully justified itself. Beautiful openwork wooden gazebos are built on the territory, where you can sit with a book or needlework in any weather, or chat if you have a company.
The single suite pleased with the presence of all the conditions necessary for a civilized person: good repair, new plumbing, hot and cold water of normal pressure around the clock; refrigerator, TV, radio; double-glazed window and blinds on the window; carpet on the floor; new comfortable furniture; set of dishes - cups, glasses, plates. Those who lived in standard rooms said that they have everything the same, only the renovation is not so "fresh" (but the cost of a standard room is lower). Thus, dormitories should be evaluated not from the outside, but from the inside.
About nutrition. I have already managed to wean myself from the concept of "public catering": the system of complex orders "for the day after tomorrow", table neighbors and menus like "first-second-salad-compote-and-bun" - three times a day. I must say that all products were always fresh, of good quality, hot dishes were really hot, and at the same time, the food was really dietary, although not very tasty (nothing fried, spicy, too fatty, coffee and tea are very weak , among the side dishes there were always cereals, which is important for vacationers with children). Only bad luck - for me such a diet turned out to be too large, during the rest I managed to get better...
The medical and diagnostic base of the sanatorium turned out to be on top: a lot of qualified specialists of various profiles, the most modern equipment, this is not found everywhere in the capital, you can undergo a comprehensive medical examination and immediately get a treatment regimen. But at the same time, if you are reluctant to take tests, no one urges and does not look strictly. For example, I asked only for general health procedures - therapeutic baths and showers, manual massage (by the way, they have a lot of good massage therapists, I had Nadezhda Yuryevna - a wonderful specialist), herbal inhalations and a soothing decoction that you can drink at night for a good sleep . In combination with the wonderful air saturated with the aroma of pine needles, swimming in the small but clean river Tashan, leisurely walks and sunbathing, mineral water, all this has the most positive effect on a tired body. Some examinations and procedures are included in the cost of the tour, others are for an additional fee, but the prices are simply ridiculous by the standards of the capital (for example: ultrasound of the thyroid gland - 25 UAH, hydromassage - 5 UAH per session, excellent quality manicure + pedicure with coating - 80 UAH, a visit to a beauty parlor with a number of facial skin care procedures using high-quality products and a qualified doctor's consultation - 80 UAH). At the same time, there is no need to get bored in the queue - the specialists are recorded at a convenient time. There is also a very long list of services, with approximately the same order of prices, it’s only a pity that they don’t post it on their website and don’t hand it out to vacationers - the price can be seen only in the medical building, on the wall near the ticket office.

The contingent of vacationers is mostly middle-aged and older people, although there were several young families with children. For small children, however, there was a real lack of at least a minimal infrastructure: a playroom with toys, a nanny who could take the kids while their parents are taking procedures. Older children are offered slot machines, billiards, a sports ground. In the evenings, the club hosts retro-style discos, concerts of local amateur performances, and shows good old films. There is a library. But, unfortunately, it did not work out with the Internet - I took a CDMA modem with me, so it did not work at any point in the territory. Even the cellular communication of Kyivstar was very junk there, MTS, however, worked better.
The sanatorium is developing: now a new medical building is being completed, where there will be an indoor pool. The territory is constantly maintained order and cleanliness.
I recommend: those who want to be examined and improve their health, while not losing a huge amount of money and time; those who suffer from the "manager's syndrome" and dream of silence, fresh air and solitude; pregnant women and young mothers; people aged; those who are contraindicated in a hot climate.
I do not recommend: lovers of active rest, "hang out"; those who would like to have a holiday romance (there is simply no one there; ); those accustomed to luxurious conditions and lackey service; student youth (get bored).
