This is the definition I would give to the Palazzo Premier Hotel in Poltava. Everything is really convenient, rational, comfortable - from the location to the number of towels in the bathroom (I love when there are enough; ))).
In order, the hotel is located just 5 minutes very leisurely walk from the central promenade of Poltava - Sobornosti Street, and no less popular with Poltava meeting and recreation - Round Square. It is located at the intersection of the city's historic streets, Gogol and Pushkin Streets, and offers views of Poltava's ancient buildings, such as the current archive building, which used to be a public library. This is a plus for lovers of antiquity and architecture. Although the people of Poltava themselves believe that "today this street preserves the old buildings of the late 19th century, if, of course, do not pay attention to the office centers and the hotel" Palazzo ".
; ))) However, I personally was not particularly impressed by the hotel building. : )

By the way, inside it was also very nice. The interior is decorated, in my opinion, in the style of an English castle - with leather sofas, fireplace and tapestries on the walls. Handmade tapestry collection is the pride of the hotel. They are everywhere - from the lobby and restaurant to every room and hallway. And the tapestries are themed - on our floor were tapestries in the style of Louis XIV, the floor below was full of images of famous castles and fortresses, one of the stairs was dominated by Paris with its sights, and the lounge on one of the floors was given to the "Mona Lisa" and "Strangers".
In addition, historical photos of various monuments and places of Poltava and its environs are hung on the walls of the corridors, as well as my favorite collages from the series "before - now" - I happily climbed all the corridors and studied a collection of old photos.
We had a regular double room with 2 beds (when booking a room with one shared bed, so we were satisfied with that), there was also another standard set - bedside tables, wardrobe, table, TV, safe and minibar. Separate shelves for luggage, shoes and hangers for outerwear were in the hallway. The area of the room allowed to place all this without accumulation and with ease of use. On the table was a compliment from the hotel in the form of two 0.5 liter bottles of water and several bags of sugar tea (teapot and cups-spoons in the room were also).
It is worth noting that in the future this "compliment" was not replenished - that is, you drank your 2 bottles of water and enough of you. Although, perhaps, it is necessary - an excess of compliments spoils the character. : ))
Similarly, the "starting bathing set" in the bathroom, which consisted of shampoos, shower gels, bathing caps, etc. , was not replenished in the future. Although, perhaps, the maid decided not to update it, because during the whole stay we used only one bottle of shower gel (everything else I prefer to bring my own). But I was pleased with the hair dryer, unlike most hotel hair dryers, which really dried the hair, rather than doing drafts and blowing. : ) Also, not in vain was an electric coil, which was heated when plugged in and was very useful to us when we got in the shower and wanted to somehow quickly dry jeans-T-shirts.

And a special respect for the hotel for 8 white fluffy towels - to complain about their lack could not be even such a fuss about it. Well, they changed them every day, despite the call that came to us from Europe, the need to take care of the environment and replace towels only on demand. Bathrobes and slippers were a convenient addition to such a variety of towels.
There was a small balcony in the room, which allowed a pleasant view of the historic surroundings. There is also air conditioning, but we did not use it due to the pleasant spring weather.
There was also a very positive impression of the Palazzo staff - check-in took literally a couple of minutes, I did not see any maids at all, but the common areas of the hotel and the room were always clean and tidy.
The concierge (or I do not know how to determine his position) always promptly opened the gates to the internal parking of the hotel - and because there are two entrances and exits in the parking lot, he opened the closest to the car and the most convenient to travel at the moment. The staff of the restaurant (the hotel is based on breakfast) did not blink, but if you had to ask for something - there was always someone ready to help.
And if we continue the theme of the restaurant and breakfasts, they were based on the principle of "buffet" - traditional cheese and meat slices (meat of decent quality), eggs in different variations, 3-4 types of hot side dishes plus a few hot snacks such as meatballs or baked pumpkin. ? In general, the hotel is very proud of its breakfasts and declares the use of only the freshest organic products (Fresh. Organic. Traditional).

In addition, the local flavor on the menu were traditional Poltava dishes, in particular - dumplings, this is where I tried them for the first time. There are also porridges, yogurts, fruits, coffee-tea, jam-jams (very pleased with lemon jam - a non-standard thing), buns. The only downside of breakfast for me personally was without orange juice - it was either apple (I can not drink it), or multifruit (for me very sweet), but the standard for any breakfast orange was not. However, as an alternative, I "found" a compote on the menu and then drank only it. Although I think that for a 4-star hotel it would not be shameful to put 2 types of juice at the same time for breakfast. I think it would be more convenient for guests.
Among other conveniences for guests I can also mention the ironing room (no need to run to anyone for an iron, put a smoothing thing on the floor or corner of the table, etc. ).
), a smoking room (although, in my opinion, it is more from the area of bullying of smokers, but this situation is not in a separate hotel "Palazzo", but in the country as a whole), as well as a mini-gym. I don't think it's necessary to mention free WI-FI in a 4-star hotel! ; )))
I think those who read this place understood why at the beginning of my review I used the definition of "comfortable" - the hotel provides the basic things that a traveler may need for a comfortable stay, but without undue pathos and arrogance, despite the "image of the best "Hotel Poltava from the most authoritative tourist resource", as they declare themselves on the site. : ))
From myself I want to note that when choosing a hotel for the trip, I found at least 2 more hotels, approximately corresponding to his level (I will not name them, but I think in any search engine you will immediately come across them).
And the decisive factor in the choice was the price - at that time, "Palazzo" held a campaign "3 nights for the price of 2" and was thus cheaper than its "competitors". Otherwise, forgive me Palazzo, the choice would not be in his favor. ; )))))
And in general, despite the lack of orange juice at breakfast and catastrophically soft mattresses in the room, because of which the first night I could not sleep properly out of habit, in my opinion, the Palazzo Hotel received two of its plates from the "Inspector". , modestly located above the reception. And if you need a comfortable hotel in Poltava, and the price seems reasonable - the hotel "Palazzo" Premier Hotel is a very smart choice.
