instead of sand and dry wind there is in Ukraine. This is the city of New Kakhovka.
My acquaintance with the city happened during the Tavria Investment Tourism Forum. This time, from the railway station in Kyiv, I went to Kherson.
Leaving the train, travelers pay attention to the visiting card of the city - the railway station. Kherson railway station is a little over 100 years old, but the view is excellent. Completely destroyed during the Second World War, it was restored, and restored to the 225th anniversary of Kherson. And, according to experts, it looks exactly the same as a hundred years ago, both outside and inside. The beautiful building of the railway station is considered one of the most beautiful stations in all Ukrainian regional centers.
At the station square, the guests of the forum were friendly met and placed in a comfortable bus. The distance to Novaya Kakhovka is a little less than 90 kilometers. But here comes a moment of surprise. Having passed through the center, the bus went down to the river and stopped near the river station.
Message - we are sailing along the Dnieper!
And despite the somewhat sad view of the river station (aka sea), life in the port is intense. Lots of ships, cranes and everything works. And here is our watercraft "Polesie". Fresh green river "tram".
On board the ship, a sign says that the Polesie is a hydrofoil ship. And the owner of the ship, Dmitry Vlasov, continued his acquaintance with the ship, telling in more detail. Found "Polesie" in Kyiv, repaired and now the ship makes regular flights on the route Kherson - Naked Pier. Such vessels were produced in Belarus at the Gomel shipbuilding plant. The purpose of the ship is passenger transportation during daylight hours, travel time is up to 8 hours, the number of passengers is 50 people, and the maximum speed is 90 kilometers per hour.
During our conversation, the ship slowly taxied and "laid down on course. " Now I understand what hydrofoils are - it's a smooth glide through the water. The fact that we are on the way say objects changing like slides outside the window. Kherson ended, suburbs with dachas began, boats with fishermen appeared. One fisherman even stood up and waved his hand affably.
The new route Kherson - New Kakhovka is planned to open next year. The trip will take about an hour. Even a slightly higher fare than on a bus cannot compete with the comfortable travel by the motor ship Polesie.
And of course the bridges. When you are on the ship, when the ship is sailing along the Dnieper, the most beautiful views of the bridges open up to the passengers.
Here is the first bridge. The impression that the bridge without beginning and end. This is the Tsyuryupinsky automobile bridge with a length of 1330 m across the Dnieper and 330 m across the Konka River.
And despite the fact that the bridge was built in a wide part of the Dnieper River, with the commissioning of the bridge, the distance Kherson-Tsyurupinsk was reduced to 100 km.
Here is the second bridge - this is the Antonovsky railway bridge of the Odessa railway.
Time flew by unnoticed. Small yachts appeared on the horizon - like white butterflies. Athletes are preparing for the competition. "Polesie" is smoothly moored at the berth of the yacht club "Maxim Marine".
On the shore there is a church, a hotel, a restaurant. On the shore there are piers, cranes, boats, yachts. This is a real small but port. There is room for repairs. There is also a tennis court on site. And a spring of water. You can drink the purest spring water, admire the waterfall and swim here if you wish.
Despite the fact that there were sands around, there are many springs in this area. And where there is water, there are villages. So in 1891 a village called Klyuchevoye appeared here. From the legends it is known that the settlers of the Franco-Swiss colony Shabo, located in the vicinity of Akkerman, found this area, today it is Belgorod-Dnestrovsky.
The village of Klyuchevoe lived in the Dnieper sands until the fifties of the last century.
And in the 50s of the last century, a decision was made to build the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. In four years, a hydroelectric power station was built among the sands. The figures speak of the scale of the construction: 12 thousand people took part, 1100 vehicles, 30 excavators, 75 cranes, 100 bulldozers, 14 steam locomotives, 7 dredgers. Builders came from all over the Soviet Union, people of more than 100 nationalities worked. In parallel with the construction of a hydroelectric power plant, a city was being built. Due to the proximity to Kakhovka, 15 km in total, the city began to be called New Kakhovka. And so the name stuck that February 28.1952 is considered the birthday of the city after the Presidium of the Supreme Council of Ukraine gave it the name New Kakhovka. After the construction was completed, many builders remained to live in the city they had built. They stayed because they fell in love with this city with their hearts.
And today, residents who love their city live here. A tourist forum was held to show all the possibilities of the region. The program included business meetings, the work of demonstration sites, information and presentation events, acquaintance with the objects of the tourist cluster.
Participants and guests had the opportunity to take part in working groups to attract investment in the main areas of tourism development in the region.
Among such working groups are "Event and cultural and educational tourism - as a factor in the successful development of territories", "Wine tourism", "Advertising and Internet promotion of a tourist product" and others.
