The tourist highlight of Cherkasy can rightly be called the Buddhist temple "White Lotus", which rises on the Dnieper hills. This building is the only Buddhist temple in Europe! It is a prototype of the famous Buddhist temple in Laos.
Archival documents record that 7.000 years ago there was a temple on the territory of Lake Cherkasy - and then there was an island - a stone depicting a Buddha in the guise of a warrior was found during the preparation of the foundation. At the entrance to the cell are two figures of ancient warriors brought to Cherkasy from Tibet. Excursions are held here every Sunday at 12:00.
The cost of voluntary-forced donation is UAH 50, and tourists are also offered to buy incense and a bag with pennies, and this good should be left in holy places on the territory of the temple. It is strictly forbidden to take photos in the temple. In fact, the temple positions itself as open to all and skins. However, in reality this was not the case, I felt uncomfortable and somehow suspicious: the guards were constantly running their eyes over all the visitors.
People are unfriendly, to put it mildly. The atmosphere, in my humble opinion, is like that of North Korea, and I felt like I was in enemy territory. Also, everything there looked kind of fabulous, and as for tourists, but then why not take pictures?
In short, I decided not to arrange a showdown there (as they say, don't go to someone else's monastery with your charter), but I definitely didn't like it there.
Architecture is interesting because of its unusualness - that's all.
Then we took a short walk around Cherkasy.
I can not be happy with my sheet)). Then we had a meeting with local youth. They talked about the project, talked about travel and drove to a real tea ceremony.
The whole world was taught to drink tea elegantly by China, ie China. It is in this country that the custom of holding tea ceremonies originated. Here, a special attitude to tea is not just a national drink, but a "spark of life" and "the wisest of plants. "
The Chinese tea ceremony is more than a custom, it is another facet of life, realizing which can make your life fuller and more interesting.
The main purpose of the Chinese tea ceremony is to reveal the aroma and taste of tea, haste is undesirable. Therefore, we spent about 3 hours on this case.
And I will say that I had a lot of fun with it. I never thought tea could be so exciting! Of course, this is the merit of our tea master. It is said that more than 4 people are already uncomfortable at such a ceremony. The cost is UAH 500, but you won't regret it!
We decided to meet the sunset on the roof of the building overlooking the Dnieper, and it was great.
Thank you to the European Championships, and we drove on)
