Is it worth going to Schastlivtsevo!?
Were in Schastlivtsevo from 07/31/2010 to 08/09/2010. The closest street to the sea is Morskaya, but there are nuances - there are only two normal crossings to the sea, while the length of the street is very, very significant, so when choosing housing, ask how far it is to the transition. We lived near such a transition, the road to the sea took about 15 minutes. The lack of sanitation in the village is simply terrible - in the evening it is impossible to go outside, because a huge number of mosquitoes are ready to eat you alive despite the repellent. In addition, spiders fall on you from everywhere (there were a lot of them in the room where we lived, when I asked the hostess why, she said - well, take a broom and brush it off. Unfortunately, the broom does not help, they are in all the cracks ((( And this is at a housing price of 70 UAH per person. ) There is only one exchanger in the village, the exchange rate is normal, but Wednesday and Thursday are days off, if local money runs out, you either need to go to Genichesk, or you can exchange it at a monstrously unfavorable exchange rate for called the local market. True, for a long time I could not believe that this market really is: there are several tents with vegetables and two tents with water and groceries along the road - and that's ALL!! ! 20, costs about 10 UAH per person. ) What is a service - in Schastlivtsevo they didn’t hear in principle. Lanterns burn in the evening only on the street along the highway - Lenin, the rest of the village plunges into pitch darkness with the onset of evening, so if you want to go out somewhere in the evening, arm yourself with a flashlight and be again - you are ready for the fact that mosquitoes will eat you. However, you need to go out somewhere in the evening, but in Schastlivtsevo it’s TOUGH))) Several cafes along the beach are very, very mediocre (reminiscent of eateries in a bad part of the city), besides, you still need to get to them. The only place where it was possible to have a normal meal (without mosquitoes falling into a plate (s pcs / min. - I spotted))) to have dinner is the cafe of the Express boarding house, but you need to go there). However, if you are ready to endure inconvenience, then the sea is simply incomparable - not very good. deep and very warm. True, it was constantly a little stormy and as a result, near the coast it is impossibly dirty (just a mess). Sunbeds can be rented for 20 UAH per person. But be prepared for the fact that all local natives will try to lie down under your sunbed, because it is under an awning, and it seems to them that they should lie in the shade first of all. My sunbed was constantly in the sun and putting it in the paid shade was worth the nerves.
P. S. About the sights - there is a reserve Askania-Nova. If you take an excursion in the village - the price is 80 UAH / person. 20 UAH per person, if you buy it there. There is nothing special to see in the reserve - local plants and very few animals (bison, goats, horse, deer and camel). It's just that last year we were in Yalta and I expected to see something like the Botanical Garden and the Yalta Zoo. Expectations were not justified))) Near the village there is a hot spring. Entry is free for now. A minibus runs from the beach - for 8 UAH per person. You will be taken there and brought back. It is considered very useful))) There are salt lakes nearby - it's just great - the density of water is like in the Dead Sea in Israel - you can just lie on the water and lie down !!!
in Lake Sevash on the other side of the village there is real blue clay, but you need to know the places of extraction and dive after it better with a mask - shallow, about waist-deep, but very good. it’s inconvenient to get it))) You can buy this clay on the way to the beach, but the natives break the price of 15 UAH / glass.
In general, if you do not pay attention to the inconvenience at all, then you can have a more or less normal rest, but if I knew in advance about everything that I would encounter on this vacation, including the consumer attitude of the natives (they are sure that people come to them to rest, who have nowhere to put their money and therefore put on all exorbitant prices), then I would seriously think before the trip!
