Probably, I have almost all the same reviews. . . ))) Good hotel - great hotel! Well, it is. We had time to relax in Zanzibar, just arrived - five days later they closed Tanzania. We were lucky! We chose a hotel for a long time, after reading the reviews on the whole island - we were looking for hotels in the north, but the price did not add up, and the dates did not work either. We decided to choose the east coast of the island. At first, I was scared away by the fact that, according to reviews, there were strong low tides and there was nowhere to swim. And then we thought - well, strong low tides, we have not yet seen from a kilometer two from the coast - we must see !! ! And, as always, they did not lose!
I'll start with the territory, again, as always. The large territory of the hotel, very well-groomed, workers are constantly visible, removing fallen leaves, cutting off the yellowed crowns of palm trees, sweeping the paths. The hotel is designed for approximately 250-350 people, mostly two-story houses in the style of "bungalow", on the first floor - 4 rooms and on the second - 2 rooms each. We got the 2nd floor. The houses themselves are made of stone, but the roofs are made of palm leaves, it looks very nice! Wide balconies with tables and chairs. In the room itself - standard - air conditioning, fan, wardrobe, bench for suitcases, chairs, table, bedside tables, refrigerator, kettle and tea accessories. In the toilet room - a toilet, a bidet, a shower, soap items were changed daily, towels - 1 time in 2 days, bedding was changed 2 times in 11 nights. Cleaning daily, friendly staff. As in other countries, the best present for a good job is our Russian chocolate and our Russian sweets. We brought them half a suitcase each, when we read that Tanzania itself does not produce sweets, they are all imported.
Reception, restaurant, bar and stage for evening performances - all located in one place, not far - 2 swimming pools. Another pool is a little off to the side. There is a separate restaurant, also open all day. The hotel has a spa, massage, but we did not go. Arranged for a massage on the beach. There is a massage to the left of our beach, and to the right. As we understood from the words and gestures of our masseuses, they also work in the spa at the hotel. The beach is public, nearby on the left is the village. If you go to the right - there are a number of hotels, but much smaller than ours. We met women from a nearby hotel - there are 5-8 houses and all are one-story. A raised wall of stone stretches along the entire coast, and all the hotels are at the top.
To the beach you have to go down the ladders and sloping paths. Our hotel always had security around all the stairs that led to the beach. Locals walked along the beach, but did not go up. Places for sunbathing - sunbeds under the "mushrooms" were enough for everyone. Beach towels were issued on cards - in the morning we took towels, in the evening we handed them over. We only had breakfast - a buffet - the choice was large, from porridge and scrambled eggs to buns and sweets. In the evening, you could immediately order dinner for 15 dollars or take a walk again to the left or right of the hotel and eat in cafes, and you can keep within 10 dollars. By the way, both at the hotel, and on excursions, and in coastal cafes, the food was always delicious. And when we rode ATVs deep into the island and got acquainted with the local tribes and their way of life - we drank water directly from the well - very cold, tasty, drank fresh juices right in the village and there were no bad consequences for the stomach!
The nightly show was a nice bonus. Every evening there were performances of artists and never in all 11 days they were repeated! The local flavor was traced in all performances, there were even Masai up to 20 people and they imitated hunting scenes and sang and danced national dances, and the performing acrobats surprised with "fiery" numbers with torches - this is a must see! So in the evenings after dinner, all the inhabitants of the hotel gathered at the reception - and contact the house via Wi-Fi (there is no Wi-Fi on the territory itself and in the room) and watch the next performance. After the performance, you could dance. Separately, you can tell about the beach. It is something!! ! We arrived at the full moon - there was a strong ebb and flow. Water reached the very stones and poured over them! After a week - 10 days the tide was negligible and the beach seemed just huge and deserted!! ! So the hotel is quite drawn to the declared four.
