For a long time we considered the direction of a beach holiday Zanzibar and finally decided, especially since the flight has become more affordable through the UAE thanks to the Flydubai airline. Naturally, after reading a lot of reviews and recommendations, our choice fell on the Nungwi area, the My Blue Hotel
Indeed, everything is as in the description, the tides are not noticeable, snow-white sand and the purest water. The hotel itself is not bad well-groomed territory, good food. African dance shows and Tanzanian cuisine on Fridays. We rented 3 adjacent rooms on the ground floor, having previously written off directly to the hotel, we were provided with an invoice for payment and further confirmation that we had paid for everything on the all-inclusive system for 12 days. We also arranged a transfer from the hotel. And everything would be great and only the most pleasant impressions about this hotel and its staff would remain.
for 3 days of leaving my sister's room, most of the money was taken directly from the safe, directly from the purse. The amount was over $3.000
since it was all inclusive, especially money was not spent only on souvenirs and Spa treatments.
The safe was not broken into, there was no external damage, it was just opened.
Of course, we came to the reception, reported everything, forced to call the local police and draw up an act. The next day, we also discovered that the women's expensive watches also disappeared, apparently on the day of the theft they forgot about them. But the most interesting thing is that when before dinner we once again came to the reception to talk to the “chief” and said that the watch was also stolen, then upon returning to the room, our stolen watch was placed in the open safe, without money, respectively!
This 100 percent indicates that all the staff, in collusion with their chief managers, get everything in their share. As it turned out later, the wife of the general manager is responsible for the hotel rooms and all the keys to the rooms and safes are also with her. In the course of communication, we were told more than once that they were not sure that we had this amount in the safe.
In general, on the day of departure, we were promised that they would write about the progress of the investigation. but we received an answer a week later, and then only after threats from our side that we would post all our impressions on the Internet. As a result, the fact of theft was confirmed to us by letter, 2 options were provided:
The first is they offer us a room for 2 weeks with an all-inclusive package
and the second is to wait for the money for 6 months.
We wrote that we choose the second option and that we are waiting for them to confirm the official confirmation of the refund in 6 months on their letterhead, but they refused us this, therefore, the trust in them completely dried up.
So be extremely careful when choosing a hotel in this wonderful country, especially with My Blue Hotel, as I was later told: “The meaning of life of the Zanzibar aborigines is only to rip off tourists with a smile”
