Having repeatedly visited the wonderful coasts of Turkey, I wanted to visit Istanbul. After reading various reviews of our Turovites, this idea has become stronger! It was not possible to find fellow travelers in this direction, therefore, she went to conquer Istanbul alone.
Booked tickets for a month, flight by Aeroflot 8081 rubles. (+ this is 23 kg luggage and 10 kg hand luggage! ) Departure on time, the plane Il 96 is decent, fed normally.
The Yasmak Sultan 4 * hotel was booked on the hotel website, because the site gave a good discount and a free transfer to the hotel! The weekly package came out to me 370 euros. , at breakfast. The price is VERY nice! Booked a month before the trip, a week after looking at the site, I found that the price had risen to 1380 euros, how ! ! !
It was my first time in Istanbul, so after ordering a transfer, I calmly went through passport control at the airport, got my luggage and went out to meet people. I once walked along those who met with posters, I don’t see my last name!
I go a second time, already looking more carefully at the cardboard boxes - again I'm not there! So I guess what should I do? I stand sad, trying to call the hotel, find out there when they will meet me. Then the guys from the meeting people come up to me from two sides, they are interested in my problem. When they found out that they didn’t meet me and I couldn’t get through to the hotel, they themselves call, find out everything and escort me to a taxi. It turns out that there was an overlay with the transfer and I was offered to take a taxi to the hotel. Ok, I get into a taxi, show the name of the hotel and with a breeze in 20 minutes I am at the hotel. The doorman runs out, apologizes, pays for the taxi himself and escorts me to the reception.
Check-in takes 5 minutes, I booked the room Comfort. It's in the next building, across the path. There are 3 floors in the Comfort building, the 1st floor is a lobby where you can sit and drink tea and coffee. 2nd and 3rd floor - rooms, entrance to the building and the elevator with a coded key, outsiders cannot enter!
My room is on the 2nd floor.
The building was renovated two years ago, so everything is brand new. The room, of course, is small, 18 meters. There is no balcony. The room is very comfortable, I was quite comfortable alone! Double bed very comfortable! ! !
Bathroom with shower, good new plumbing. Super white and fluffy towels, 6 pcs. 2 bathrobes and slippers. Cosmetic set in the bathroom replenished daily. 2 Russian channels, flat TV, safe (free of charge), minibar for a fee, tea set and water replenished daily (free of charge).
The room has good soundproofing, tinted windows. There is carpet on the floor. Cleaning was very good, no tip was taken. A couple of times I ran into a cleaner, treated Alyonka with chocolates.
The condo works for cooling and heating. In the first two days it was cool, +12, having come to the room in the evening, I found the window ajar and cold in the room. Having rebuilt the condo for heating, the room quickly became warm!
Breakfasts at the hotel are held on the top floor of the main building, with a panoramic view of the beauties of Istanbul. It is nice to have breakfast and enjoy the views of the Bosphorus, the domes of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Breakfasts are EXCELLENT!! ! . Cold and hot appetizers, vegetables and herbs, eggs in various preparations, yogurt, pastries, cereals and muesli, a large selection of fruits, jams, honey combs, fresh juices and a selection of teas and coffees. Turkish bagels with sesame. You can take it to your room! The breakfasts were very satisfying! ! ! In the evening, the Oliva restaurant sets tables here.
The hotel has a gym and swimming pool. (free), spa salon and hammam. (inexpensive! )
The hotel is located in the Sultanahmet area, 100 meters from Gulhane Tram Stop. A 5-minute walk from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern and the Hippodrome. Near Gulhane Park, Topkapi Palace.
The Galata Bridge and the Egyptian Bazaar are 2 stops by tram or 8-10 minutes. on foot.
Around the hotel there are a huge number of cafes, locant, restaurants with varied cuisine and for every budget. In all catering places, the menu is in three languages (except Russian), with pictures of dishes. Very comfortably! ! !
If you take the tram tracks as a landmark, it is impossible to get lost in the Sultanahmet area! After a couple of days in Istanbul, you are already free to navigate, And when you buy Akbil, you save a lot on travel in transport!
I booked a transfer to the airport at the hotel - 6 euros. Picks up a minibus at the appointed hour and after 30 minutes. you are already at the airport. You can get there by tram and metro, but without luggage. (UNCONVENIENT with suitcases! )))
When leaving, I simply handed over the keys, did not check anything, did not pay anything extra.
I liked the hotel very much, comfortable, inexpensive, conveniently located. Recommend! ! !
The breakfasts are good, I liked it, there are various fried sausages and sausages, and vegetables. Good selection of teas. The restaurant is located on the roof, there is also a summer restaurant - in general, the view is wonderful, because. on the one hand, the Sultan's Palace and the Blue Mosque are visible, and on the other, the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn, as in the palm of your hand.
The hotel is located in the historical center of the city - a 10-15 minute walk from the Grand Bazaar, the Mosque, the Sultan's Palace. Also, a 15-minute walk (or 2 tram stops) to the pier, from where you can get on a boat to any coastal area of Istanbul, as well as cross the Bosphorus to the Asian side. Tram stop 20 meters from the hotel. Also 20 meters away is a purely European Pub, in which they constantly play football and pour beer. Of the visitors, only Europeans, the service there is top class, but the prices are appropriate - a 0.5 beer costs 6.5 dollars.
There are many cafes and restaurants nearby, you can eat everywhere.
My verdict is this - if you are traveling on business, and you do not need a very noisy life, but you need a quiet, calm hotel in the center, but from where you can get everywhere - then Yashmak Sultan is exactly that.
