First of all, I would like to say about the merits of the hotel. Of course, this is the location of the hotel, the Sultenahmet area. If in a straight line, then 200 meters to the Blue Mosque and the Hippodrome, 400 meters to Hagia Sophia and the Cistern and 800 meters to the Topkapi Palace. A wonderful terrace with an excellent view of Sofia, the Blue Mosque and the Bosphorus. Clean, not shabby rooms, good housekeeping, in general, quite friendly staff. Mediocre food can be assessed, a very modest breakfast. The rooms are tiny, it is even problematic for a large man to get around the bed. There is no ottoman or chair in the room; you can only sit on the bed. True, after contacting the administrator, a chair from the hall was brought into our room. As for the view from the room, I would not advise you to count on it especially. Of course, there are rooms that offer a view, but there are not as many of them as indicated in the description, from the rest of the rooms the view will open either through a tiny window, or you will have to very much roll over the balcony to enjoy it. Therefore, I would advise you not to bother with species numbers, because. The terrace is much more suitable for both contemplation and photography. Moreover, they will still try to settle you in the wilderness. It seems to me that regular proceedings in connection with incorrect placement have already become an integral part of staying in Turkey, regardless of the city, the star rating of the hotel and the method of booking it. And it's upsetting.
One more detail, I would not call it a disadvantage, rather a feature - these are the muezzins.
Due to the proximity of the Blue Mosque (with sufficiently powerful speakers), you will have to wake up at night from his calls to prayer. But in the daytime, their calls, which echo and intertwine with each other, sound amazing. I would even call it a song.

On the day of arrival we had lunch at the hotel, we did not like it. The soup turned out to be a concentrate, and in the seasonal salad there were greens, carrots and beets. So we didn't eat at the hotel anymore. But I really liked the restaurant in the Topkapi Palace and the Pasha 'restaurant chain, one of them is located a hundred meters from the hotel on a street leading to the tram line.
And yet, in Istanbul there are several hotels with the name Golden Horn, in the Sultanahmet area there are two of them. Incl. be careful when choosing a hotel and if you are in Istanbul on your own, then have the address of your hotel with you for a taxi.
There will be questions about the hotel or independent excursions - write.
Read reviews, draw conclusions. And happy travels to this beautiful city.
