Friendly hotel staff.
The food is excellent, the chefs know their stuff!
The room is spacious, there is a kettle, tea and coffee.
Cleaning unimportant cobwebs on the ceiling and a layer of dust under the bed.
Due to the flight delay, we were late for lunch by literally 10 minutes. (we read reviews about this hotel and someone wrote that they fed us even when people were late, and they also prepared a side trip for excursions, and made breakfast early in the morning... ) No one fed us, although 10 minutes passed after dinner, obviously They didn't even clean up their buffet. Later, at dinners, we saw how people stay longer than the allotted time and it’s okay, but here they are 10 minutes late, but everyone shrugged, they say we have rules and you can’t eat anymore)) I’ll say more, a family arrived with a small child, so even the child was not fed, and they arrived in the evening and the next meal will be only in the morning. So get ready, if you are late, they will smile at you and say that you are late, and we don’t feed latecomers) Later we learned that when you check into a hotel, it’s customary to put about $ 10 in your passport and then they will feed you, and they will warm you and snuggle up, maybe even shake your knees)) True, on the street, outside the hotel, there is a huge number of small cafes where you can go and eat together for about $ 5-10. True, the portions expect much to be desired, and in principle, the food in Marmaris is so-so, I’ll tell you why a little lower; )
After we were broken off with dinner, very friendly and kind Turks picked up our suitcases to take them to the room) Naturally, everything was not just like that, but for a tip, which we didn’t have with us on the first day)
While still on the bus from the airport, we were told that we must definitely go to meet the guide, otherwise we would have to write some kind of statement that we were refusing his help and something else... In short, they carried all sorts of nonsense to scare an inexperienced tourist. I didn't go to the meeting. The wife went. The guide didn't tell us anything other than the tour. All excursions are UNIQUE, you need to visit everything! )) My wife also asked again: "Is there something important besides excursions? No? Goodbye then")) In short, get ready for the fact that your guide will try to take you warm so that you quickly agree to give a tidy sum for excursions. We organized our vacation ourselves. so, do not listen to anyone, it is not necessary to go to a meeting with a guide. Just a day before departure, look at the reception of your tour operator and find out the transfer time to the airport. By the way, the duties of the hotel guide include a full story about the hotel, so that tourists understand clearly what is free and what to pay for, they must ALWAYS warn their tourists about the time of the return transfer, which our guide naturally did not, but how many times he wrote "Good morning, what excursions did you choose to go on? "))) Then we often saw other guides who treated their clients in the same way, and the most interesting thing is that many agreed, although it is enough to leave the hotel and walk 200 meters, how can you take excursions much cheaper ) And the fact that they say that everything is official there, that you are insured on excursions, This is all nonsense. They put a "seal" (an ordinary type-setting stamp that you can buy at any stall) and supposedly you are officially going on an excursion with a receipt))) laughter)) By the way, we were driving back to the airport with our guide, and he tried us several times as something to scold that we didn’t choose his excursions and that he knows where and with whom we were... and all sorts of nonsense, why did we, to put it mildly, oh * off)) So be prepared))
So, we settled in. The hotel is declared as 4 stars, everything seems to be clean at first sight in the room, but we had a mirror with traces of dirty fingers and a chipped corner. There was a hole in the bed. There were small gels, soaps, shampoos in the bathroom, but they didn’t put additional shampoo gels after use, although they usually bring every cleaning in 4 rooms. The hood in the bathroom is full of dust, so dirty that it seems that it was removed just before the opening of the season)) There is a huge layer of dust under the beds)) the room does not pull at all for 4) Two bottles of water 0.5 upon check-in are in
refrigerator) Do not throw away these bottles, as we did, because no one will bring water to the refrigerator for you anymore)) When the water runs out, you need to go downstairs and draw water from the cooler. When we went through this topic, we asked for a bottle of water at the reception, to which they answered: "go to the store, buy yourself some water, and when you drink, you can dial here again")
Reception.
no one from the staff knows Russian, except for the guide, about whom I wrote above) Therefore, the main communication is in English. For the first 5 days, everyone is running around you, smiling, saying hello, quickly removing the plates, and when they see that you don’t leave a tip, no one greets you in the morning, they pretend that you are not here, and they don’t smile anymore )) Although there were definitely three people who were very friendly and sincere until our last day)
Here, in principle, everything is fine. The description of the hotel says that there is a separate area for smokers. So, there is no area, just everyone at the tables and by the pool smokes. My wife and I are non-smokers and were very surprised. And in the play part, where there is an old billiards table, a tennis table and a children's corner, in general, there is always stale air and everything smokes, like a hood, it pulls into the play part, and it is the stuffiest of all.
People.
Everything is very fast here: mostly British and Germans, 40-70 years old. Very friendly, they sit around the pool or at tables all day long, smoke, drink and chat)
Food.
On the first day, it seems that there is so much food there that you won’t even try it for the whole rest, and at the end you don’t even know what to take, because in fact there are many variations of the same products) For example, we noticed and installed very suspicious salads : pasta + red sausage + mayonnaise, sausage + cheese + mayonnaise, sausage + boiled eggs + mayonnaise. Here are three big dishes for you. There is nothing special to take for breakfast, every day the same thing. They rarely give fish, only twice... They make some kind of hamburger cutlets, so they are not tasty at all, with a bitter aftertaste and the feeling that there is no meat in them at all. But french fries every day) Delicious chicken, also in different variations) A lot of greens and vegetables. Fruit, much to our dismay, is very scarce. For two weeks we saw only pears, apples, watermelons and once peaches. Watermelons were not tasty, not sweet. There is no variety, although you can buy very tasty grapes on the market for only $ 1 per kg, and watermelons, melons, peaches, 2 lira for a whole watermelon. Desserts are all made with the same filling every day. There are desserts with semolina, in all its cooking options)) As for alcohol, beer, three types of wine were included (although they tasted like one, just a different color), my wife says that pink was better than the others), more gin tonic (also not very good). About beer. In general, good beer, although one day at the reception the beer stank of either a corpse or manure, and on the same day I tried the same beer in a restaurant, and it did not smell of anything. Juices diluted, look like Yuppies. Cocktails for a fee at the reception bought once and were disappointed. My wife and I drink very rarely, but if we take a cocktail in Belarus, then usually everything is very tasty. By the way, a funny story happened at the reception. The wife came up to buy a cocktail (completely sober), asked the bartender if he could make a mojito, and he tells her that there is no lemon. She (in English) is already asking about another cocktail, and he keeps talking to her about lemon. And so, probably, the Turkish bartender doesn’t understand for a minute and continues to say that there is no lemon)) In short, they agreed on something, and the bartender said to the German woman who came up “Russian”, like “what to take from them”, they say, stupid Russians... So that in this and other examples we looked at the attitude towards Russians in Turkey)) although we are from Belarus))
wifi
he is not in the room. Only in the reception area. if you stretch out your hand from the balcony, you can send a message) The most interesting thing is how the guide told why Wi-Fi is weak in hotels: "you understand, due to the high load of the hotel, Wi-Fi catches worse")) well, you understand, right? ))
game Zone
There are few games, everything is in an ancient state. Table tennis is generally a separate issue) small light torn Chinese
rackets, the ball doesn’t even want to bounce off the table, and the table can be called a table with a stretch)) the net is torn) But you can play billiards if you don’t pay attention to the slightly tilted table and one crooked cue))
Road to the sea. Beach.
The hotel does not have its own beach. To take a sunbed you need to pay money. They don’t stand on ceremony with Russians there and don’t make discounts for a sunbed) the sunbeds are close to each other, i / e you can quite feel how the neighbor’s sweat is already flowing over you) The price for a sunbed was 60 lire, i / e somewhere around 10 $. We first went to see the free beach, which is closer to the hotel, and what can I say... dirty, very dirty... a lot of cigarette butts, glass from broken bottles, caps, etc. . . shells, algae, stones in the water, the entry is uncomfortable. As a result, every day we walked 40 minutes to Icmeler beach, where at least there was already beautiful water, a pleasant entry) although the beach is also dirty)) and we don’t know why they gave him a blue flag) so much garbage... but for free))
Pros:
Housekeeping (generally clean, but no one cleaned under the beds during our stay)
good location, generally quiet and safe around (if you want a free and more or less beautiful clean beach, then it’s better to choose a hotel in Icmeler)
air conditioning in the room
soundproofing
view from the window
some of the guys from the staff were nice and sincere.
Bottom line: if you don’t find fault, then the rest is quite comfortable, but we would not stay at this hotel for the second time.
