We rested in Club Mersin Beach as a family (daughter 11 years old) from 05.06. 2010 to 19.06. 2010.
We flew from Minsk, from Capital Tour, hosted by Alba Travel, also known as Peninsula Tour, met without any problems and after 2 hours (because we were the last on the route), arrived safely at the hotel. There, at the reception, we were “ringed” with branded wristbands, and since check-in was from 14-00, we were sent for a walk. It should be noted that from that moment it was already possible to use food and other benefits of the hotel. The territory is very pretty, albeit small, and the embankment is just a fairy tale, well, we love that there is an empty beach to the right and left for kilometers, but at the same time ennobled, with wonderful paths, paved with tiles, decorated with palm trees and other plants, and in the dark also illuminated. In short, they were very satisfied with the territory - our option.
During the walk, we met the local massage therapist Almas, he was the only one of the staff who spoke Russian, as well as compatriots, they had been resting for a week and showed us “where is that” (at the reception they don’t explain and don’t show anything, they just give a leaflet with the work schedule restaurant and standard daily activities).

After dinner in the restaurant at 14-00 we go to the reception, they say another 15 minutes, just prepare the room, then again 20 minutes, etc. , but they didn’t ask for the first floor, they shrug their hands - there are no rooms (at the same time, the hotel is filled with a maximum of 2/3, the beginning of June, there are still no people), we take things and go to the room. What we saw there was beyond words: terrible dirt, old bed with sand on the sheets, left after vacationers, etc. (see photo).
We go to swear at the reception: “one moment, we’ll fix everything now, ” and again no one, and this is ad infinitum. Honestly, if it were not abroad, I would have given the manager in the face. As it turned out later, everyone had problems with settling.
Russian-speaking vacationers. Our guide Zhenya said that many simply cry from resentment, like children, it is understandable: "you, but for your own money. " Thanks to Zhenya that in the end we got a good room on the 3rd floor overlooking the garden on one side and the goose with goslings on the other. True, with 2 beds. I had to pile up the remnants of English and explain that there are three of us, then fight off a smelly folding bed as a 3rd bed. We look at the clock, wow, 17-30, we quickly settled. In fact, we have no complaints about the work of the hotel's junior staff (maids, waiters, bartenders, porters), but the managers at the reception deserve a fat Kol from us.
After settlement.
we go to the beach, it’s really good, it reminds me a lot of my native Gulf of Finland in St. Petersburg: a long shallow sandy entrance, however, it’s unclear near the shore, but if there is a wave, and it happens there often in the evening, then it’s a pleasure to ride the waves, children just trudge, on the beach there is a kind of two kayaks and a pedalo catamaran, they are free. It is impossible to say that the beach is very clean, vacationers greatly contribute to this, although the trash cans are every two meters.
Now let's talk about nutrition.

At lunch and dinner, the restaurant has a bar, and you pour yourself wine from barrels. The waiters - the guys are very smart, they are quite satisfied with their work. If you are leaving on an excursion, or somewhere else, ask at the reception for a lunch box (packed rations according to ours), only you need to do this in advance, a day in advance. Good natural coffee can be drunk only for money, in a bar it costs 2 Euros, and on the waterfront in the nearest cafes 2 liras, you catch the difference.
The animation is all in French, and in general everything in the hotel is for the French, even purely French games are cultivated, Fr 80 percent, a terrible audience. But you can work out various aerobics, play table tennis, volleyball (albeit with a soccer ball), surprisingly everything is strictly on schedule, volleyball lasts exactly 1 hour, then the animator thanks everyone and takes the ball away, he was very sorry that he didn’t take his gym so and did not find, the daughter claimed that there is.
They practically don’t take care of children, only in the evening there is a children’s disco for the smallest, I didn’t see an adult at all, although one bartender invited my wife, sometimes artists perform (dance group, circus, belly dance), but mostly animators give performances, in general they are good guys but not a word in Russian. The wife and daughter spent the evenings mainly in the Turkish bath, the sauna was also okay, I liked it (the bath and sauna in Mersin are free, massage is paid, foam massage is free for children).
Remark: in order to receive beach towels, demand (themselves, bastards, they won’t even offer) special cards at the reception upon arrival. Get towels in the bath, and change them there for clean ones, from the reception to the left and down. Loss of a card - 10 euros, and loss of a room key - 30 dollars (bargaining is appropriate, people knocked down to 10), they will also require money from the reception to call the guide (calling the guide is free !! ! ! ). Tip - bargain until you're hoarse.

Excursions and attractions: for this it is worth going to Kusadasi, because everything is very close, of course, this is the ancient city of Ephesus, there is probably no such large, perfectly preserved ancient city anywhere, we highly recommend it. Pamukalle - indeed, nature can create something that a person would not even think of. By the way, you can usefully travel to Turkey in the winter, too, in Pamukalle to the thermal springs, we were there during the tour, smeared with mud, etc. etc. , they also saw what a restaurant in a 4-star hotel is, frankly, Mersin has faded in our eyes, the difference is too great.
Aquapark (Adaland) is the largest water park in Turkey. Children are in heaven there. But we must constantly remember about safety precautions, the risk of injury from a simple abrasion to dislocation and fracture is very high (especially on tube slides). Ours badly skinned her thigh, and in the first-aid post there is only iodine and peroxide.
Food and drinks in Adaland are quite expensive.
Mili Park, or national park-reserve, with a huge 12-kilometer canyon and wonderful beaches, a youth bath and ecological trails, etc. I think that this journey of ours is worth telling in more detail: on the last day of rest, we finally decided our dream to get to Mili Park. We traveled by shuttle minibuses (dolmush) through Davutlar and Guzelchamly. We are running out of time, because we are leaving tomorrow morning, so we get off at the stop of the second beach, we still won’t have time to do anything before lunch. God, what the purest water is there, there are no people, but at the same time everything is civilized, wooden sunbeds with umbrellas, there are even tables with benches, showers and toilets, and there are giants around the pines, because there is a paradise on earth! Order in the park is guarded by mounted gendarmes, well, they look very nice, I don’t even know who is more beautiful, guys or horses.

And now the horrors from Mili Park: there are A LOT of wild boars and THEY ATTACK PEOPLE. These animals are so accustomed to the appearance of a person that they are not afraid of him at all, moreover, they behave extremely arrogantly. We arrived at the beach early enough, put things on the table. The first appearance of a pig with piglets made us tender, the children threw them a bun, the adults took pictures. When the gruntels ran away, everyone went for a swim, then the adults got mad on the sunbeds, the children played nearby, nothing foreshadowed danger. The idyll was blown up by the cry of the daughter. Turning around, we saw how the leader of the pack, standing on the table, was wielding his snout in our things. Being the first near the boar, the daughter tried to drive him away. The beast, jumping off the table, grabbed the child's hand with his teeth. The wife launched a stone at the boar, followed by the others, after which he retreated into the thicket.
It cannot be said that the wounds on the hand were large, but still to the point of blood, the girl was very frightened, crying, probably from pain and resentment that she did not get even, because she scolded the boar with all the nasty words that she knew. The wound was washed and upon arrival at the hotel, through a guide, they consulted a doctor. A Russian-speaking doctor arrived, took us to the clinic, they did an X-ray of the hand, and saying that it was okay, they issued an insured event, after which they made vaccinations in the hospital, the course of which we continued to do at home.
Everything was done promptly, respect to the doctors, to the insurers too.

About shopping: of course, when guides take you to shops on excursions, everything is exorbitant there. Example: in a shop for tourists a box of sweets is 5 dollars, in the market in Guzelcamli 2.5 lira (1.7 $), and in a cheap sweet shop for locals already 1 lira (0.7 $).
They said that on Wednesdays a large clothing market operates in Kusadasi, and on Fridays there is a food market, alas, we were not there. At the bazaar in Guzelchamly (one hour walk along the embankment from the hotel - I recommend everyone to take a walk), I was, in principle, decent prices, the cap that I bought there is sold at exorbitant prices in the market in Minsk. The most correct choice for shopping is a trip to the Outlet Center in the city of Soke (5 km of the Soke-Bodrum highway), where, unlike the market, branded items are sold, sewn in industrial factories, and not in basements. Only you need to go not with a tour arranged by guides, but by yourself. In the first case, you will have a maximum of an hour and a half for shopping, while you will have a crowd of three sellers in the store, who 90 percent understand and speak only Turkish and are in no hurry anywhere, as a result, who managed to buy - the rest next time.

In the second case, you can wander around these three hefty centers of branded trade, stretching for 2 km, for at least a whole day, slowly choosing and trying on, but how will you explain yourself without a Turkish guide? We went there on our own, I tried to explain myself in Turkish, my wife says that I even succeeded, it seems to me that the main thing here is to ask the right question, and after the dialogue starts (even at the level of gestures), you will definitely get the necessary information and get where you need to. In general, based on the results of independent travels around the area, so to speak, “going to the people”, I conclude that the Turkish subjects turned out to be very responsive, friendly people, ready to help if they are asked for it (this does not apply to managers at the Mersin reception).
Conclusions and assessments: Turkey itself - 5, Kusadasi - 4+. Hotel Mersin: location and beach - 5, service -3, food -3+, animation - 0.
