Notes on how my family and I went on a ski tour to Kayseri, stayed at the Holiday Inn 4 hotel and met perhaps the most terrible, in our opinion, tour operator “Coral travel”

1. Good day, dear fellow travelers and all those who are going to visit Kayseri, a new resort for “Russian-speaking” tourists, and thus use the services of the Coral Travel tour operator. Why this particular tour operator? Yes, because for January 2019 no one else offers tours there. We planned a trip with my wife for 11.01. 2019 to 18.01. 2019 in the month of October. Tour for two cost us 960€. We were planning to go together. But as it turned out three days before departure, our circumstances changed and we had no one to leave our son at home, who at that time was 1.5 years old. I called on 09.01. 19 at 10.00 am to the tour company through which I bought the tour and asked to add the child to the tour. I was told that the surcharge is 80€ for an infanta. I agreed.

A couple of hours later they called me back and said that it would not be possible to take the child with me, because there was no way to pay extra for it. The money will not be transferred to the tour operator (Coral Travel). We are residents of Moldova and bought a tour in Moldova, respectively, and the money had to be transferred from Md to Ukr. I said that today is only 09.01 and the money will reach 11.01 anyway, that this is absolutely not a problem, or at worst, you can make the transfer as an urgent payment. To which I was told that this is not possible, and if it is possible, then it will cost about plus 100€, that is, the amount that I had to pay initially 80€ and + 100€ for urgency : )) total 180€ for a one and a half year old child. As a result, they called me back and said that it was generally impossible to add a child for no money. For a long time I tried to get through to someone to resolve this issue.
I called directly to Koral and to Kyiv and Odessa on all the numbers that I just found, but no one wanted to talk to me. Refer to the tour. the agent from whom I bought the tour. He, in turn, also shrugged. Nobody wanted to deal with my issue. As a result, 16 hours before departure, they called me back and said that the leadership of Coral took pity and went to meet me and for 130 € instead of the prescribed 80 € they are ready to add a child to the tour) Moral of the first paragraph: it means that almost 3 days before departure they could not add for the required 80€, and after long clarifications, only 16 hours before departure, 130€ were already able to transfer this money. And that was just the beginning of our journey.
When we arrived in Kayseri, we were taken to the hotel at 08.00. We asked the hotel guide, if possible, to check us into the room earlier, because we have a small child and after a long journey he needs to be put to bed. in general, if in short.

3. The hotel guide said that there are no exchangers in Kayseri, and only he can change money for everyone. As it turned out later, at a rate of 542 lire for $ 100, the guide changed everyone for 510 lire for $ 100. Hotel guides are men of 40 years old, or even more in ordinary everyday, personal things, and not in company uniform, as is customary to see in other travel companies.

4. On the same day we arrived, we realized that our hotel is very far from the mountains (25 km to the mountain) and with a small child it will be very difficult for us to go to the ski lifts. I asked to change the hotel to one of those hotels that is closer to the ski lifts. I said that if necessary, I was ready to pay the difference for hotels. I gave request 11.

In general, only on Monday the 14th at 13.00 they gave an answer. They said that the surcharge for 4 nights in one hotel would be $ 900)), and in another hotel 750 €)), despite the fact that our entire tour package cost 960 € for two (this includes flights and transfers and accommodation and meals Hb and Skibus and ski passes for lifts and even the transport of ski equipment on the plane). A hotel near the ski lift Mirada del Lago cost about 1100€ or 1200€ for the whole tour for two. And for 4 nights I was offered to pay either $900 or €750.
This is despite the fact that we spent almost the whole day as a family in hotels near the phone, waiting for at least some information about the possibility or impossibility of moving. I was promised an answer from the very morning and it lasted until lunch. I called the operator on duty several times until she gave at least some answer at 13.00. I realized that it was unlikely that something would work out and decided to go to the mountains for at least two hours. But since the bass shuttle only runs in the morning, I had to pay $20 for a taxi myself to get to the ski lifts. And no matter how much after that I tried to get through to someone at the head office in Coral and discuss the situation, no one wanted to talk to me and listen to me.
And he called the head office in Kyiv, asked them to call back to discuss and wrote an email to them and left voice messages on the Facebook page and wrote in a personal message and in response only received a letter with an offer to contact the manager of the agency from whom he purchased the tour in order to "formulate" his complaint and he will redirect it to them. That is, the moral of the fable is such that no one even wanted to talk to me for any of the reasons, never talk to me and listen to me. All the time, everyone was “footballing” such a disregard for attitude, I have not seen anyone else and anywhere. Although we travel with my family a lot and very often, I also travel a lot and fly around the world for work. That is, there is little experience.

I have stayed at the Holiday Inn hotel chain several times and in different countries, because it is a global network. The last places of stay in this hotel are Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Andorra, etc. Everywhere and always the food was on the level.
But in Kaiser, the food was very, very poor. There was really nothing to eat for breakfast, for dinner there was always only one dish of chicken and one of lamb. Moreover, dinner began at 19.00 and at 21.00 nothing was replenished. The food is unrealistically weak in this hotel. But in general, the hotel is good, beautiful, new. For about that kind of money, you could take the Radisson Blu. It cost about 100-150 € more, but it is much better. recommend. We specifically went into it when we were walking around the city in order to understand if there was a difference between these hotels.
In general, this is what we had the first and last acquaintance with Coral Travel. Here we saw such a disregard for the attitude towards tourists. And they concluded for themselves that it is not worth traveling with them if they do not value customers and do not even want to listen to customers when there are questions and comments. I decided that our notes and my review could be useful for tourists, because there is very little information about this direction on the Internet.
