Excellent family hotel
We rested in Onur from July 1 to July 10.2011 as part of a married couple and a small child (one and a half years old). The selection of the hotel was approached very carefully. We read a lot of reviews, both about Bodrum itself and about local hotels. In the end, almost everyone was satisfied.
Flight and road to the hotel went smoothly. At the airport we were met by Rudolf, a Turtessian guide, who accompanied us all the way to Onura. On the way, this friend advertised all kinds of sightseeing tours and for some reason praised the neighboring 5-star hotels. At the same time, he warned that if there was something wrong in Onur, then, I quote, “you can always agree. ”

By the way, to close the topic of Rudolf, I’ll say right away that his excursions cost at least twice as much as those of travel agencies in Bodrum itself. With me, he sold a couple a two-day excursion to Ephesus and Pamukkale at a price of $ 165 per person. At the same time, in Bodrum, a similar tour can be purchased for $ 85 per person. A full day trip to Rudolph's water park cost $50, Bodrum $22, and a trip around the islands $50 and $15 respectively. The difference, you see, is more than significant. At the same time, a visit to Rudolf's hammam can be bought for $ 30, and in Bodrum it is free with the purchase of any excursion. As for us, this time with a small child we decided not to take excursions at all.
But back to the hotel. Despite Rudolph's warnings that something might not be right, it actually went very well. Settled us literally ten minutes after arrival at the hotel. And an hour later we turned on the safe. We lived on the penultimate line. In general, mainly couples with children settle there. It's close to the road, but cars don't drive there very often. But far from animation and music. The room was quite bearable. Everything worked, the air conditioner tuned itself the next day, nothing leaked in the toilet. Here some wrote about the flow of water in the showers. Dear vacationers, do not sit in the shower for half an hour and at the same time pour water on the shower wall. If you do not do this, then you will definitely avoid the flood. Checked it personally
Room service worked well. Changed linen several times. Cleaning was every day. Only once the maid did not come, but the next day, as compensation, she beautifully decorated the bed with flowers. We left her a dollar every other day.
Already on the first day they walked around the entire territory of Onura and its friendly Ora and were very pleased with what they saw. The territory is quite large, green and well-groomed (this is especially true for Onura). Everywhere is cleaned and everything is watered several times a day. Palm trees interspersed with pines and olive trees - beauty!! ! The air is just wonderful!

As for the food, the food was good. You certainly won't leave hungry in Onur. For breakfast, we usually took yogurt, muesli, freshly baked pancakes, and the kid drank fresh milk and ate local bread. And what kind of pastries are here - it's just yummy!! ! Turks bake buns and bread in the hotel itself throughout the day. Lunches and dinners were very varied and satisfying. Here some are outraged about the constant presence of chicken on the menu. So I'll tell you that at Onur I ate chicken at least once a day, but each time it was cooked differently. And in combination with different side dishes, it went with a bang! Also meat was regularly turkey, lamb, once or twice beef. Fish - the usual mackerel in different versions, but quite edible.
Every evening they cook wonderful grilled meat here, and each time it is different. But be prepared to stand in a long line. As for drinking, we regularly used Efes draft beer (very good) and red wine (the quality depends on the barrel). We did not take hard alcohol. A couple of times we went to dinner at the Ory restaurant. The cuisine there is the same, but it offers a beautiful view of the sea and amazing sunsets.
Waiters in restaurants are mostly young and handsome guys. They work quickly and accurately. No sidelong glances, everyone is friendly and smiling. Communicate with vacationers mainly in broken English. Our child has become a real idol for them. It was a little stressful at first. But then we realized that they had nothing bad in their thoughts. For the most part, Turks are very fond of children and treat them just fine.
Before lunch, we usually splashed in one of the four pools of two hotels (in "Onur" two and a half meters each with a slide, and in "Ora" one deep - up to 2.10 meters, and one with sea water). And when the heat subsided a little, we went to the sea. By the way, in the afternoon a pleasant breeze blows here almost every day.
The sea in Bodrum is simply amazing - very clean and moderately warm. Entry into the sea is mainly from the piers, where there are convenient steps with handrails. You can also enter the sea from the shore, but stones are problematic. In order not to hurt your feet, it is better to immediately buy special slippers. There was a problem with sunbeds on the beach. There were clearly not enough of them. But you could always sit on the grass or on one of the piers. Don't mess with the local sun. There is nothing to do here without special creams - burn out in half an hour and suffer the rest of your vacation.

As for the contingent of vacationers, there were many Poles, French, Italians. There were also English-speaking vacationers, sort of like Americans. There were also Turks, but not many. In our race, Russians and Ukrainians were somewhere around 25-30% of the total. Mostly married couples and grandparents with their grandchildren. Everyone was well-mannered and cultured. For the whole holiday, only once they saw a drunk of Slavic appearance on the territory of the hotel, and even he behaved quietly, having reached the nearest table in the restaurant.
Animation made itself felt closer to noon. After dinner, my wife ran to step aerobics and aqua aerobics - she really liked it. The class was conducted by a girl Sasha from Russia. At nine o'clock, a disco for kids started in the local amphitheater. And from ten in the evening - show programs for adults began. But we have never been to them, because we had to take care of the child.
For a change, we went to Bodrum - minibuses from Onura regularly travel to the city almost around the clock. We walked along the streets to the embankment with an old castle and back. In the shops bought souvenirs and local sweets. Don't forget to bargain with the Turks and never buy everything in the first shop you see. As practice has shown, the farther from the bus station, the lower the prices.
In general, the rest was very satisfied. We recommend Bodrum in general and Onuru in particular to everyone. I will gladly answer all your questions.
