After sitting in the cold "Indian summer", at the end of September, I just wanted to bask in the sun. And then suddenly a burning weekly tour to Tunisia, the city of Sousse, the Tergi Club hotel was formed. A little more than a day to collect.
Having already bought the tour, they began to read reviews on the Internet... I asked my wife: “Are you scared already? ” It was a little scary. But an irresistible desire to bask in the African sun and a positive attitude prevailed over doubts.
So, on the road! Tunisia met us with a cloudless blue sky and hot sun, temperature +34 after Kiev +4. Enfidha Airport (Monastir) is spacious, modern, without fuss we quickly passed through passport control and got our luggage, immediately at the exit we were expected by a representative of the meeting party Express tour. Our hotel is the first from the airport, and after 25 minutes we were already there.

The hotel is located in the first line, right on the shore, it forms, as it were, a "square" of buildings, inside a small beautiful garden that gives shade in hot weather.
In the courtyard there is a large swimming pool with slides and water polo gates, sun loungers by the pool are free. The main building is 4-storey, next to the SPA is a 3-storey building. The rest of the buildings (for some reason they are called bungalows on the Internet) are 2-storey, each building is built in a square with its own green courtyard. The entrance is from the courtyard, and the windows and balconies face the outside. From any building to go to the sea no more than two minutes.
All buildings after a recent renovation, nice design, rooms are equipped with air conditioning, a comfortable bathroom with a full bath, mattresses are new and comfortable, which pleases. Single glazing.
But there are also disadvantages. There are no outlets in the rooms (I don't know if all of them). It seems that during the repair, the guys plastered so hard that they covered the sockets tightly and then they were not found. But a solution has been found! Removed the socket from the lamp in the bathroom. The socket is located high, above the mirror, and works only when the lamp is on.
Also disappointing is the lack of a refrigerator. There is no curtain in the bathroom, although there is a curtain rod with hooks.
Beds and towels are really grey. Not surprising, since many vacationers sunbathe on the sand on hotel sheets, towels and blankets.
The first night, wrapped in a hotel blanket, I soon found myself with a full bed of sand…
By the way, we did not give any money for the room at the reception. We decided to see what we got first. The room turned out to be quite decent, they immediately checked: the light is on, there is hot water, the drain is not clogged, the air conditioner is working. Room on the 1st floor of a 2-storey building, right next to the sea, the terrace overlooks the shady garden. We decided not to change anything.
An extension cord, a bathroom curtain, a bedding and beach towels were brought with them.
But the flashlight was not useful, the area is beautifully lit.

Hotel beach: The beach is large, clean, spacious, sandy, cleaned daily. Equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas. A sunbed costs about $1 a day, but you can sunbathe right on the sand on the mats, which everyone does. The sea is very clean, entry into the water is shallow. At the end of September, the water temperature was +26, there were no jellyfish, no algae either.
There is entertainment on the beach - banana, parachute, scooters, camel for riding, beach volleyball. At the entrance there is a beach bar with a full kitchen and drinks, free toilets.
In my opinion, at the exit from the beach there is a lack of foot washing. The sand on the beach is very fine and sticky, when you try to shake off your feet, it also sticks to your hands. Vacationers who wash off this sand in their room clog the drain and then complain.
We washed off the sand in the shower near the pool, and then went to the room.
The Tergi Club Hotel is located not in a resort area, but in an ordinary residential area of Sousse.
There are no other hotels near it, so the usual municipal beach stretches to the right and left of the hotel beach, where local residents relax.
The municipal beach is dirty, a lot of garbage. The locals do not sunbathe on the beach, they only fish and relax with their families. Women bathe fully clothed. It is impossible to look at them, let alone photograph them. If you sit on such a beach, be prepared for the locals to stare, especially at white women in swimsuits. However, they behave very friendly, already on the second day they begin to greet you and smile.
Meals: We had half board. For breakfast, several types of salads are served unseasoned. Extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salt. You have to make your own to your liking. Sausage or processed cheese. We really liked the cheeses. Stewed vegetables, tasteless rice in milk, scrambled eggs boiled in milk, buns, jam of two kinds, butter, coffee juices, tea, cocoa. It was enough.
For dinner, the same salads, turkey or chicken, some minced meat dish, fried fish (local small sardines, quite edible). Two types of garnish.
Tasteless cakes and custard, always watermelons. The reviews wrote that watermelons are very sweet, I would say that they are not very sweet. Either the party got caught, or the authors have never tried sweet watermelons.

Entertainment: despite the fact that the hotel is a three-star, animation works in it. Maybe because the hotel is French. Near the reception there is a schedule of events: from 10 am stretching on the beach, volleyball, water polo, darts, games for children, at 21-00 evening program for adults, dancing, competitions, disco.
In the SPA building there is a massage room, a beauty parlor, a hammam, thalassotherapy, and another pool under a canopy.
Hotel guide: we would like to express special gratitude to the hotel guide Olga (express tour company). Olga every day seven days a week from 8 am at the hotel, answers all the questions of tourists, holds meetings and briefings with newcomers, distributes a map of the city with stops, shops and banks, writes down excursions. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly.
Olga immediately warned us that the hotel is not responsible for the valuables left in the room. Therefore, it is better to rent a safe at the reception.
When we bought gifts, souvenirs and left them in the room, a couple of times we left the maid 1 dinar on the table. We haven't lost anything.
Excursions:
To go on an excursion somewhere on your own, you need to know French, since few of the locals speak English. The schedule of trains and buses in Arabic and French, sometimes completely absent or does not correspond to reality. In addition, the hotel is located on the outskirts, and you still need to get to the center of Sousse. And it gets dark early in Tunisia.
It is better to go on excursions directly from the hotel as part of a group, with a Russian-speaking guide.
Everyone is very pleased with the excursions to the Sahara and Tunis-Carthage - Sidi Bou Said.
The cost of excursions already includes meals and entrance tickets to museums.
General impression: Despite some shortcomings, the hotel for 3 * is very good.
Well-groomed green territory, renovation in buildings, cleanliness, beautiful beach and pool,
good food, animation, spa treatments and thalassotherapy.
Very satisfied with the rest. Only a week is not enough.
Would happily return to this hotel.
