Survival at Nahrawess Boujaafar 4*

I'll start my sad story with the fact that I read the comments of people and was simply shocked. Of course, I can admit that in 2008 and 2009 the hotel building looked more promising and presentable, but still I believe my eyes more than the words of my predecessors.
so from the start. . .
On the way from Monastir airport we stopped at several hotels. Sitting with a friend on the bus and laughing from the facades of buildings and hotel lobbies with chairs exposed to the main entrance. Of course, there was confidence that our destination, based on the photo gallery (we must pay tribute to the illusionist photographer - I rate him 5+, he is fluent in Photoshop), will be at least 3 times better than what he saw at the beginning of our "bright path" ".
So the guide announced the name of the hotel and the nightmare began. . .

The first thing that caught my eye was a dilapidated 8-storey building with aluminum doors at the main entrance, a rubbish bin full of rubbish and the complete absence of a concierge. The lobby is very modest, the reception desk resembles old Soviet hotels, the front office staff hardly understands and does not speak English at all. . . We received the room key while waiting. that the long-awaited comfort awaits there, but it was not there.
Opening the treasured door, we were amazed at the condition of the carpet. Everywhere on the floor there was dust, stains and sawdust of dry grass. The noise of the air conditioner was like the sound of an airplane on the runway. Wall sconces with suspicious stains on the shades. . . A bathroom with broken tiles in places, long hair stuck to the glasses, a clogged sink and a rusty bathroom with a moldy curtain. . . Trying to turn on the TV, pressing the button at the bottom, the panel fell off. The table in front of the mirror looked like an ancient structure made of tiles and inexpensive stone, the windows of the balcony were stained and imprinted, on the balcony itself there was a plastic table with a thick layer of dust and two similar chairs. . . The view from our balcony overlooking the city looked like total chaos.
Around 23-00 local time, we decided to go out to inspect the area. There was a feeling of hopelessness and emptiness, as if no one else lived in this hotel except us. Deaf silence, not a soul around, even the staff, the pool is not visible, as it is completely without lighting, and the complete lack of entertainment, which was written in the description of the hotel.
I would not like to judge by the Nahrawess Boujaafar 4 * hotel about the service in Tunisia, but without prejudice I will say that the hotel does not cost even $ 200. For the whole week of stay, the carpet was not vacuumed either in the rooms or on the territory of the hotel, the beaches were not cleaned, there were no guards or fences on the territory of the hotel, so the beach was teeming with local residents... the pool was not cleaned, towels were changed every 3 days, and after the replacement there was an unbearable smell of vinegar, there was not even a question about the sheets. In a word - HELL!! ! The food has never pleased - stingy breakfasts, poor dinners and a complete lack of water. as if for them it is a canopy of gold. To go on half board means to survive in harsh conditions, you have to pay for everything (0.5 of water cost 2.5 dinars in their canteen). Indifferent staff who do not understand English. It’s scary to go out into the street - wild, clinging Arabs are everywhere with obscene offers, indescribable dirt and the stench of garbage that surrounds everywhere...

Every day we woke up with the thought "what will happen today? " - On the last day, they were ready to kiss the Ukrainian land upon arrival at home.
Conclusion - in Tunisia, we no longer have a foot !! ! The country is not surprised by anything. What they call cafes is hardly a beer eatery. The words "hygiene", "service" and "respect" are empty sounds in this country. The hotel absolutely does not deserve a star rating, it would be more honest to call it a poor hostel!! !
