According to the all-alcohol system, beer and wine. But even here the problems begin. Either they don’t have glasses, or the wine is over. They don’t give wine and beer in one hand at once (I didn’t get impudent, I always took no more than 2 glasses for myself and my wife), and then I start asking why you need two glasses, only one. The feeling is that you owe them and beg them for a drink. Cleaning is so-so in the rooms, you have to beg for towels and then they bring either dirty or torn ones.
I strongly do not advise the hotel, especially for those who fly to Tunisia for the first time.
Completely spoil the mood about this country. Better (add, borrow, take a loan) and buy a tour to another hotel. I don’t understand how operators have the conscience to sell tours here.
I'll start in order:
rested in August-September 2013 (one of those whose Egyptian 5 broke off and, almost without looking, quickly picked up a Tunisian hotel in a hurry).
We flew from MSC to Enfidha (airport) (flight about 4-4.5 hours), we were at the airport for no more than an hour before transfer to the hotel - you can have time to look around =)
transfer - the hotel is far away and other tourists are transported first - you look at their hotels and hope to see yourself not much worse. transfer to the hotel takes about 1.5-2 hours - you can see the country a little. Only rubbish around. Well, it's just impossible not to notice! otherwise, as a curiosity you can see!
we arrived at the hotel at 10 am - breakfast was over, so you can only drink tea (we settled in for lunch. but for now you can stay in the bar for a while. I say right away: wine (red and white) is NOT VERY!
the beer seems to be better, but either it is heavily diluted or it is non-alcoholic. from other drinks, a cooler with cola, sprite and water. no one really cares about serving you. all by yourself.
The pool is very small - in 9 days I only took a dip (mostly occupied by Arabs and Arab women in their robes). The people were mostly Arabs (Algeria and Tunisia). The pool is dirty. in the evenings they clean it by throwing a bucket of bleach into it. so think!
The room is a room, to put it mildly, not a fountain. you can sleep and nothing more. the bathroom is on the verge of fantasy (a big cockroach came to visit on the 2nd day)). soap or other bath accessories do not expect to see! the view from the room - who's lucky! there are 3 options: on the sea, in the yard (from 22 to 24 animation and music) or on the street (I had - beautiful trees and that's enough).
The sea is 200 meters away, but the road has 2 turns - check the route in advance! not immediately found.
the sea is cool clear, warm, pleasant.
The beach is terrible! dirty (garbage, stones in the sand, camel-like... ).
Take a sun lounger and everything is fine.
I was not lucky with the weather - it often rained (there was only 2 days of sunshine) - so choose a resort in advance according to the weather!
don't wait for your entertainment on the beach! better on other people's sunbeds to other beaches of neighboring hotels (for an extra charge). there is a volleyball court at 10 m. I was lucky - I played (for free).
Nothing to do in the hotel during the day. and also in the evening. so there is nothing to do there. and together you will always find something to do!
animation - the guys really tried! Especially Mario! special respect! He is the only one who speaks Russian and tries to talk to all the tourists! pay attention to everyone! only all this is a Soviet pioneer camp in terms of level. no offense. the bar for All Inclusive closes at 10, at the same time the animation starts. So on to the money. Beer 8 dinars (160 rubles - not worth it! )
SOOO MANY sticky traders with their offers on the territory of the hotel - excursions, shops, walks ...
Coral travel guide comes 2 times a week.
For entertainment, I recommend:
travel in sahara (2 days 160 USD) - normal bus, Russian (HALLELUAH!! ) people in it, excursion across the whole country - there is something to see: Amphitheater (colosseum), Bedouin dwelling, sunset in the desert (we had rain - everything is in the clouds) on camels, a normal hotel at a rooming house (getting into this hotel for just a night was like Paradise after the caliph), sunrise (again because of the rain we didn’t see it) on a salt lake, then a Muslim shrine and a museum of carpets. 2 days is a little tiring of course, but compared to Caliph, it's heaven, honestly! and you can see the entire country!
Tunisia-Carthage 70 dollars. - I didn’t go, but they say it’s normal like. Although the ruins of Carthage they are the ruins
The blue city of Albusaid (so it seems) is a beautiful town, but you will see no worse in the hammamet.
Sea trip on a pirate ship (40 USD 4 hours) - that's worth it!
cool, cool, fun, provocatively! very good! you can safely take Mario!
Discos in the city - there are free ones - you will get there by taxi (taxi drivers will wind up the price - check with the guide in advance how to communicate with them). big depraved discos! for club citizens the most it!
in the city you can normally buy clothes - cheap enough! recommend ! just take it in stores!
Food: very monotonous, scarce, but you can eat - you will not stay hungry! although don’t expect much fruit, ice cream and juices too - they simply don’t exist!
The furniture in the rooms and in principle in the hotel is very old - from the 70s ...
Well, and most importantly, the Arabs are very sticky - at first they will do something as a gift, and then they will extort money! they constantly go and ask for "1 dinar! 2 dinars! "
Caliph - just a rooming house! nothing to expect from him. Build and plan your own vacation! and in the caliph you can only sleep sometimes!
WHO authorized the sale of this, literally, smelly bed bug on the Russian tourist market, and at the prices of decent 3-star hotels? ! After all, in addition to Russian tourists, who are brought daily in batches to this viper, the main contingent of guests are Algerian citizens of different age categories, under which this hotel is imprisoned. In this (I don’t dare to say) “hotel” literally FROM THE THRESHOLD, not only did it not smell of any stardom, absolute unsanitary conditions and completely unsuitable conditions for living have reigned in it for 20 years (at least). What kind of REST in this terrible place can we talk about? !
It's hard to find any description for this murdered hostel, kindly offered by the tour operator Pegas Tristik (and by the way, a couple of other famous tour operators) as a "good three-ruble note" ...But I'll still try. So...
I'll start with the fact that at the "hotel" Le Khalife 3 * "- right under its name flaunt 2 stars. But the fact is that this hotel does not even correspond to the declared 2 stars. Then you need to offer it with appropriate reservations and according to And not to break the triple price and not mislead tourists who are focused on a standard economical vacation in 3 *** hotels. rotten ALWAYS have the appropriate marking (or they have the appropriate TYPE).
And if you VERY want to buy cheaper, in this case the buyer CONSCIOUSLY sees a lack of goods and CONSCIOUSLY makes his choice (cheap rotten tomatoes, ZATO for 20 rubles). In the case of Le Khalife, it turns out that they sell it as a respected 3 * club-type hotel (also with ALL INCLUSIVE !! ! ! ), And at the cost of "quality tomatoes". And the stuffing is completely rotten! Not even just rotten, but really dangerous for the health of tourists ! ! !
Dear compatriots! PLEASE REMEMBER THE NAME OF THIS HOTEL AND NEVER CHOOSE IT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! Because you will eventually get a vile fake called "REST". You will lose your money and spend your nerves on the next one.
- The renovation of the building (if it ever was there at all) was made at least 20 years ago. Therefore, we had the honor to contemplate the almost worn-out hotel building (by the way, without air conditioning at the reception, bar and dining room).
Filthy to a disgusting state of the room with gray washed-out linen, a balcony meter by meter, falling apart faucets, lack of toilet brushes and other killed components of the room. There are no TVs in the rooms. Noise isolation is zero - every step or rustle in the corridor is heard from the room. At the reception, they will kindly change your room for 2 dinars per day to a "like a suite", which is a little more spacious, but still pathologically dirty.
- The territory of the hotel is a small, filthy terrace with a small scene, 4 scary, lopsided umbrellas from old age, plastic tables and chairs greasy from dirt. And a pool of water (which was last changed under Tsar Peas, so it has the consistency of syrup), in which noisy companies of Algerian guests constantly bathe.
Since the terrace is not treated with elementary cleaning products, insects of various sizes crawl out on it in the evenings (including huge beetles and cockroaches, which also fly and calmly land on the heads of tourists resting on the terrace - I personally saw 2 cases when a woman was bitten to blood by a healthy cockroach And two more girls this insect scared to a faint when it landed on the head of one, and the second tried to drive it off the head of a friend).
- The complete lack of a range of dishes in the dining room. You can’t even call this monotony - there is simply NO choice. Every day we observed only 2 types of "food": rotten and non-edible (half-cooked rice, half-rotten vegetables, rotten sausage, terrible fish heads instead of fish). As a result, constant indigestion and poisoning, and not only with us alone.
- Service - this word, in principle, is not applicable to this hotel.
Literally from the first day, the reception staff (and later the dining room staff) made it clear to us that HERE the staff lives according to their own laws and their own life independent of tourists. Moreover, the staff WORK, and the task of tourists is to try not to interfere with it and NOT to distract employees from their important affairs with stupid questions, requests, orders, etc. And it is very important that newly arrived tourists do not take it into their heads to violate this clear, well-established chain of command. Otherwise, the staff not only ignores, but sharply points out to the tourist in his place. Example: we are a bartender serving tables on the terrace, bring us mineral water. Since we did not take "all inclusive", we will pay for the water accordingly. The husband in the correct form 3 times in half an hour reminded this bartender serving other tourists that we are still waiting for our order.
Once again, passing by us, the bartender did not hesitate to tell her husband that he remembers our order, but he has a lot of work to do! As a result, we were forced to bring our own mineral water from the room (by the way, the same brand that is sold in the bar). To which, within 2 minutes, the same bartender immediately appeared near our table (without our order! ) And informed us (verbatim! ), that if we do not remove this water under the table, he will call the boss, and he will ask us for it in a cruder way. To which I was even delighted and asked to invite the boss to me for a more detailed conversation regarding the quality of service in this institution. And there are dozens of such examples per day.
- The absence of any infrastructure within a radius of at least 4 kilometers (including shops and restaurants where you can buy food or have a normal lunch). The hotel is located in a private sector on the outskirts of Hammamet.
Taxis need to be constantly waited for or caught, because taxi drivers, apparently, call in THIS part of the city only when delivering tourists, or in great need. Yes, 2 beautiful hotels AZIZA 4 * and Redisson Blue 5 * flaunt nearby - whose guests have beautiful spacious areas with their own beach and service, and do not urgently need an additional promenade area or shopping outside their hotels.
- If you are sure that the sea and the beach can smooth out any disadvantage of a bad hotel, then this is a deep delusion. 400 meters from the sea - this is a blatant FALSE. In fact, the sea is located almost a kilometer away from the hotel, since there is no direct path to it. But it's still half the trouble.
In fact, the "beach" is a completely filthy state of a small area for swimming and sunbathing, with a pack of wild lichen dogs living on it, guarding all this territory littered with slops, broken-down sunbeds, piles of algae and camel feces that cannot be removed, and other unsanitary elements of garbage presented on this "beach" in abundance. On the territory of this site there is a small, the same broken-down shack, such as a "gazebo", from which a local man periodically jumps out, and seeing that you suddenly settled down on a more or less strong sunbed, he immediately informs you that this particular sunbed is "private" . And if you want to sunbathe on it - then you have to pay him for a schislong. All 3 days that we spent in this "wonderful" place - we went to the beaches of the AZIZA 4 * and Redisson Blue 5 * hotels. At least it makes sense to pay for chaise longues and holidays on THESE beaches.
- Animation in Le Khalife is loud and monotonous, ending no earlier than 24 hours. Therefore, you will not have to sleep until the end of the animation program. Even if the windows and the balcony are tightly closed, the loose wooden frames on the windows and the balcony create the effect of the full presence of animation right in the room.
Personally, it was literally painful for me to contemplate the oppressed, haggard faces and wandering, depressed looks of our compatriots who visit this institution every day and do not understand what THEY are doing here. It is sad and disgusting to realize that only thanks to such a "wonderful" hotel as "Le Khalife", any person who once visited Tunisia will erase it from his heart forever, and leave only the most disgusting memories of this wonderful hospitable country as a whole.
It's not even about how I got there...
Thank God, I visit Tunisia regularly, I had the good fortune to live in various kinds of hotels, including, I have been in economical hotels. I perfectly imagine what a (at least economical) three-ruble note should be in Tunisia, as well as I know perfectly well what hotels of 4 * and 5 * categories are in the same Tunisia. But what is sold under the name "Hotel Le Khalife" - does not meet ANY STANDARDS, not to mention INTERNATIONAL REQUIREMENTS. And what we personally saw for 3 days in this disgusting rooming house is called SILENT HORROR!
I want to express special gratitude to the hotel guide Yulia for her responsibility, conscientious performance of duties and replacement of the hotel without additional payments. Julia, I am sincerely grateful to you and deeply grateful for your patience, for your attention and participation in our requests, and for helping to solve our problem!
Meals - breakfast is very light, dinner - just a holiday.
The rooms are in the national style, beautifully decorated, there is a normal air conditioner, a small bath, large beds, a balcony. Everything is good, but there is no refrigerator. For 10 dollars - a room with a sea view.
Cleaning - come 3 times a day, clean well.
Swimming pool - 1 large with a maximum depth of 1.5 meters and a children's pool, in which no one bathes. Shower nearby.
The territory of the hotel is small, well-groomed.
The hotel staff is quite nice, joking with all sorts of traditional jokes that I didn't always understand. Cheerful people in a word.
Evening entertainment - the so-called animation. Music, jokes, dancing, lottery. All this at high volume until 23.00. At first, I didn’t really like it out of habit, but then even very much. Music greatly pleased - and Arabic and Mexican and European. In a word, groovy. Animators are very sociable, so to speak on duty. They offer to buy this and that. Well, this is how it is in everything - an extra dinar from a tourist. You just have to be prepared for such unusual importunity - they have it in the norm.
Beach - it is not clear where the beach of our hotel was. So they didn't figure it out. We went to different places.
Excursions - there were 2 local grandfathers who persuaded on excursions. On two we were, of course, not the highest class, but the main thing is the impressions. Daytime activities - water polo, ping pong, warm-up with music by the pool, music from the speakers. There is always a DJ on site. For a fee - billiards, 2 machines. There was no strong interest in sports, as well as in a kind of existing bathhouse, jacuzzi.
In the end, I can say that for 3 stars everything is very good - it corresponds. All the same, tourists do not go to watch animation or sports. games to play, but to the sea, to palm trees, hot climate, camels and for impressions mainly outside the hotel.
