I would like to inform you right away, so as not to mislead the reader, the hotel is 3 star (it does not pull on 3, but it is 3 according to all documents, it is not clear why it is positioned as 4 here). We knew where we were going and, in principle, thought that it would be worse for that kind of money. The most important plus in this hotel are large rooms, separate toilet and bath (surprising for such a hotel), large balcony and no insects. In general, the hotel itself is very nice, but it can’t be run down by lazy staff, who, under the guidance of the manager Mukhamed, hangs out at the reception from morning till night, plays billiards and gives excursions to visiting tourists before the guide arrives, which the guide is not particularly happy about. The pool is nice and everything is beautiful around it, but nobody cleans it at all!! ! Bottles of beer accumulated for five days, cigarettes, papers, etc. No repairs are done, no matter how big or small. The gym is broken all over. The beach is squalor (fortunate that we prefer outdoor activities). Dirty no less than the pool. The bar that was once there was turned half into a public toilet, and the other half into a warehouse for the bar of a neighboring hotel, which functions normally (Most likely, he rented the premises, all the same cunning Mukhamed). There was an impression that the manager wants to squeeze everything out of the hotel and get out of there. To be honest, I felt sorry for this hotel. On the positive side of the staff, I would like to note only the cleaning lady, who, to our surprise, cleaned the room every day and changed the bed, and the watchman who always smiled and did not ask stupid questions about the food and alcohol we constantly brought with us. About food: You won't find anything for gourmet breakfast. But if you are not picky, then eat normally. Dinner is much better, but all drinks including water and tea are PAYED 2 dinars, so think for yourself.
In general, we really liked the country and the Yasmine region in Hammamet. And the attitude towards Russians is good there. I spoke with many Tunisians in English, although I read from the reviews that no one knows him. Everyone is friendly and willing to help. And not all of them are beggars, as indicated in many reviews.

So, I rested in this hotel - a 16-year-old girl, a 14-year-old sister and our mother. We were there for a week - from 07/04/10 to 07/11/10. In fact, the hotel is 3 *, as it says on it. Further details.
SETTLEMENT. Arrived in Tunisia (Monastir airport) at about five local time. We flew from Transaero, arrived almost on schedule - no complaints. We were met by the Leptis Tours company, we will try not to travel with it anymore. Our bus went to Hammamet via Sousse, settling people along the way (very slowly) in hotels. Of the entire bus, we arrived the very last - about de-vya-ti according to the local! Where is "15 minutes from the international airport of Tunis Carthage" I did not understand. We did not expect this. With all this, it was about +16 degrees in the bus, and we were in tops, even without jackets! I'll tell you right away about the guide - he lured us on excursions with the words "you have a bad hotel, very boring, take more excursions. " For some reason, I personally felt uncomfortable. We did not go on excursions. but next time we will definitely go to the Sahara) Upon arrival at the hotel, we were settled in 10 minutes, served soft drinks (I was touched), the room was given the best one at my smiling request - overlooking the pool, on the third floor. Usually we paid extra 20 dollars for a room (Egypt, Turkey)
CONTENT. THE MOST IMPORTANT! One of the worst things about the hotel. 90% of vacationers are Arab women with children and a local PIONEER CAMP! Person 50 Arab children without parents, living by 6 people in rooms designed for a maximum of three. If anyone suddenly wants to go to this hotel, get ready for loud Arabic speech around the clock, just as loud MUSIC from eight in the morning until four at night, always screaming babies, their mothers, bathing in all attire, including a headscarf and other joys. The hotel walls are like cardboard, you can hear EVERYTHING. It was terrible.
FOOD. The food amazed me. Of course, I'm spoiled for 5* hotels with ultra-all inclusive meals. But I didn't expect this at all. On the first day we came to the closing of the restaurant. Okay, the same Arab crowd. But there was almost no food left, there were no tables left. Spat and went to the store (2 minutes walk). Breakfast is a song. From edible - 2 types of rolls, which have never changed in a week (! ), eggs (both hard-boiled and soft-boiled in one place - guess where), fresh white baguettes, chopped butter in a bowl. The rest is only conditionally edible - 3 types of terrible flakes (and I thought you couldn’t spoil them), potatoes or rice in terrible fluorescent oil, some kind of sour sour cream, a couple of different varieties of jam, terrible sausage (1 kind), cheese. About drinks - 2 types of yuppies (I haven’t tried it), coffee (very strong, not bad in principle, but if you come late, there will be one cake left), cold and hot milk, black and green tea bags (terrible), cocoa (they interrupted ). That's all. The range for the week has not undergone any changes. Better with dinner. There was different meat - chicken, meatballs, meat in sauce. Most often, they succeeded in meat, advice from me personally - if you take something, try a small piece first, it can be very spicy or nasty. Various side dishes - pasta, terrible potatoes, good couscous, terrible salads. Oh yes, there was also some kind of fish (sardines? ), sometimes a tasteless meat and potato casserole, something else, I don’t remember now. In general, there is a lot of food, but most of it is tasteless. But the desserts are gone. Delicious pies (it seems nutty), tiramisu, ice cream (! ) often, 2-3 different varieties, very tasty). Separately - FRUITS AND VEGETABLES! ! That's horrible. The guide on the bus tempted us with the fact that "now is the season of all frts". We got only watermelon, less often melon, and only for dinner. Dreams of cucumbers and tomatoes were also in vain. Darkness. The restaurant itself is cramped, stuffy and noisy, but once all the tables were suddenly taken out to the pool and covered in the fresh air. It was wonderful. The music was turned on quietly, and not "clever-witted-witted", but something gentle and pleasant. True, it was dark (even the pool was not illuminated oO), but still liked it. Drinks at dinner - for an additional fee, and only water, beer and cola - tea and juice from them will not be interrogated for any money. Oh yes, there was also lunch, we didn't take it. I advise everyone to come for breakfast and dinner by the opening, breakfast goes from 7 to 9, dinner is also from 7 to 9)) I have never seen such a short time anywhere.
SERVICE. The hotel touchingly tries to seem better than it is. We left a little tip to the cleaning lady - in exchange we received swans from towels, everything was decorated with beautiful flowers for us. Cleaned up well, washed everything. But the hotel itself is brr. Everywhere dust, dirt, plaster flies around. Everywhere there are plates with the remnants of food, on the stairs, sorry, someone vomited - everything was just like that. Speaking of plates. We were told the rules of the hotel - as everywhere else, do not bring food into the territory, do not take out food from the restaurant, do not take towels from the room. So, the rules exist only in words. In fact, everything is possible. She left the restaurant (what the hell is a restaurant? canteen! ), waving a baguette and with a glass in her hand. Passed by the cleaners in a towel from the room. They brought a whole pizza to the hotel. Zero emotion. And yet, no one was there. Their problems.
ROOM. I repeat - the room we got one of the best. But that doesn't mean he's good. The first day I was close to fainting. Dirty paint stains everywhere! Didn't wash anything! The toilet looked like a horror - the whole seat was covered with paint (blood? ), the bedspread on the bed was covered in blood in some places, everything was burned with cigarettes. The pressure in the shower is one name, a thin trickle of indefinite temperature. That is, not in the shower, but in the bathroom - there is a full bathroom. By the way, the bathroom and toilet are separate - I was glad. The toilet is flushed 3 times. But there are also pluses. The room is large with a large balcony. Furnishing - like everywhere else. There is a safe - not used. The trouble with towels - there were always not enough of them, either large or small. TV shows 5 channels, French and Arabic, English, and even more so there are no Russian channels. The minibar is not filled, it is free. There are not enough outlets, the TV outlet must be turned on like a light!
BEACH AND POOL. The beach is amazing. I have never seen such sand before. The sea is good, the sunset is normal. Sometimes it was dirty, especially in the sea. There is no bar at the hotel on the beach, well, we didn’t need it. BEWARE jellyfish! Mom was bitten by a jellyfish on the very first day, if it bites you, rub the bite with sand! Helps. No one will tell you where the beach is, we found it only on the 3rd day. I’ll explain where it is - exit the hotel gate, go left, past the Mehari hotel, cross the road there and see the hotel’s sign. The separation of the beaches is very conditional, we used both sunbeds and hmm mattresses for sunbeds of the Zodiac hotel, for free, no one told us anything. There are no towels at the pool or on the beach. I do not advise you to buy anything on the beach, especially fruits, but they wear something there all the time. The pool is good, especially when the pioneer camp has a quiet hour - from one to two) There is a shadow where you can hide from the sun, and a depth where you can swim. They were satisfied.
INFRASTRUCTURE. There are many things around the hotel. And shops and restaurants. Everything is very inexpensive, a huge dinner for three - panini, pancake and scrambled eggs, fresh orange juice for everyone - about 300 rubles) Water - about 10 rubles for 2 liters. Alcohol is sold in the Generale's store, there are also fruits. The store is called Bravo. A taxi costs less than 100 rubles, but we went not far. Medina liked it.
CONCLUSIONS. We really liked Tunisia, we will definitely return. The hotel is disgusting, we will not go there again for anything. Too bad Hammamet is so far from the airport. I hope my review is useful to you)

Well, first things first. … More ▾ You can call my story just a detailed review of the impressions received during my vacation in Tunisia. Looking ahead, I will say that everything that is written here is a subjective and objective assessment of what is happening and what you see, and it is not necessary that it will be the same for you. Well, first things first.

The beginning of the way. Tunisia is a country of contrasts. Next to absolute poverty, luxury and wealth coexist, next to the severity of religious beliefs, depravity, legalized by the state, coexists.
Flight. It all started with the fact that we flew with Tunisian Airlines. By themselves, they are nothing, we didn’t have to go to the plane, we went straight through the “gut” into the cabin. This makes me happy. On the plane they were fed local hedgehog, honestly it is not clear what it was, but I noticed scrambled eggs, pickled mushrooms and something else that looked like potatoes.
meeting party. Upon arrival at the airport itself, no one with a One2Go sign (this is our operator) met us at the exit.
I had to look for a Russian-speaking operator who would meet another operator and ask him “Where is Amen Voyages actually? (this is the directly meeting side of One2Go). ” To which they answered us, they say, here is a man with a piece of paper in his hands without identification marks, and ask him. Yes, we were lucky, it was our man who marked us on his paper and directed us to the bus stop to look for a man in a One2Go T-shirt. This was our guide Kais.
Guide. I can't say anything bad about the guide. He speaks Russian normally. Answered all questions. The only thing is that he cannot be trusted unconditionally. He still works for himself and for his country, so when he says that the only means of transportation in Tunisia is a taxi, do not believe it. It is so, but not entirely. When he says that from Yasmine Hammamet (tourist area) you can take a taxi to Hammamet itself for 10 dinars (approximately $ 8. The exchange rate is 1 US dollar - 1.
24 dinars as of 20.09. 08), taking a taxi for 4 people - this is not entirely true. There is a bus every half hour in Yasmine Hammamet that will take you all the way to Nabeul if needed. To Hammamet, it costs only 0.54 dinars. So real savings.
Travel to the hotel. I won't go into detail about the trip to the hotel, because, thank God, everything went well. Already during the trip to the hotel, I added up my impression of Tunisia itself. Everywhere garbage and dirt, one-story houses and poverty. People live, it would be in unfinished or dilapidated houses. The roads are full of yellow taxis - this is the only accepted color of taxis in Tunisia. The main surprise awaited us at the entrance to Yasmine Hammamet.
Money exchange. Don't worry about exchanging money. They can always be changed directly at the reception in the hotel or anywhere else. The exchange rate at the hotel is the same as everywhere else.
I don’t understand why they don’t put a satellite dish. Our room overlooked the pool. By the way, this was also a kind of disadvantage. There is no sea view, because the hotel is located 500 meters from the beach. And I understand that the entire hotel does not have a sea view. But I can be wrong. The only thing that is not clear is that you have to pay for a safe of 2.5 dinars per day, which is in your room, and that the receptionists can open the safe without even knowing the code. Based on this, it is not clear what the money is actually paid for? So that another hotel visitor does not climb into the room and take something?
Service. The main thing that excites many is, of course, the cleaning in the room. So, cleaning is carried out every day, but only in this way, wash the floor and change towels if necessary. As for the bed, we got the impression that in 2 weeks it did not change, or if it did, it was changed once. By the way, if you leave the cleaner 0.
5 dinars, then during the cleaning she is more diligent. In English or Russian, the cleaning lady does not understand, so we did not console ourselves with the hopes of learning something from her or saying something to her, only French or if you know Italian and Arabic. Moreover, the language barrier was felt only with the service. At the reception or in shops they understood English.
Nutrition. There are no complaints about nutrition. We had the HB type of food, i. e. breakfast, dinner. I must warn you right away that having lunch for two on the embankment will cost you 14-18 dinars, this is modest. The choice of menu in cafes on the embankments is not great, mostly pizzas, pastas (pasta with meat or cheese and sauce), salads, coffee, cola, fanta, etc. etc. Pizza costs an average of 7-9 dinars, coffee for 1.5-2 dinars and salads for 5-6 dinars. Consider that it doesn't come cheap. On average, lunches will cost you more than $150 for 2 weeks. But again, I repeat, the food is monotonous, you get bored quickly.
Breakfast at the hotel as in Turkey, eggs, cottage cheese, jams, buns, coffee, tea, and sometimes some mixture of stewed vegetables and sausages. By the way, sausage or, as they call it salami, is a rare muck. But this is an amateur. At least she didn't hurt her stomach. But for dinner already expanse. As for salads, of course they have a complete fantasy. There was a feeling that they were doing them only because they had to feed a lot of people. As for meat, everything was good, there was a choice for every taste, and chicken and turkey, and lamb. The most interesting part was in the desserts. What's dinner without dessert, that's what their chef thinks. Here walk the soul. Firstly, a large cake is always placed in the center, and sliced \u200b\u200bpieces of other cakes, fruits, eclairs, rolls, puddings, well, in short, everything to get up after dinner and take a horizontal position, because the first 30 minutes walking is difficult. The stomach presses down  . At dinner, a complimentary bottle of water, cola or fanta is served.
All other drinks, such as beer or wine for money. Beer 2.5 dinars, and wine 0.3 liters. in my opinion, 3 dinars, in short, not cheap.
Animation. This part of leisure in the hotel deserves special attention. Because it's not animation, it's not clear what. I'm telling. Animation starts every day at 21-30. Before dinner, the animator invites everyone to the hotel lobby, where it is actually held, right next to the lobby bar. In short, a group of guys and girls is selected from the people who have come, and dancing begins to some of their local music. Better to keep silent about them. This must be seen. And this continues for hours until 23-00, or even later. So that lovers go to bed early, they will have to put up with loud music, or close the door to the balcony and turn on the air conditioning, because something needs to breathe. Yes, I almost forgot, every Saturday at the same time a fakir performs, a beautiful sight, but nothing more. This is the entertainment program at the hotel.
Hotel guests.
The hotel mostly stays Poles, French, Germans and a little bit of our brother. Regarding the first, we were not very lucky, because, as they occupied, almost the whole hotel. It would be nothing, only when two Poles are talking, for some reason you can hear them at any end of the restaurant or the beach. And if they escort their people home or what good they leave themselves, then half of the hotel does not sleep for hours until 2 am. So we had to calm them down with a rich, Russian obscenity in a "slightly" raised voice. You know, it helped, they calmed down, but the next day they moved to another wing of the hotel, and the other half did not sleep. Considering that many people come on vacation with small children, what kind of behavior deserves special attention. Maybe we just got “lucky” with them, but the fact is the fact. Other visitors were more relaxed.

Beach. As I already mentioned, 500 meters to the beach, a little and not a little. In principle, they did not feel any discomfort.
The beach is clean and sandy. On the first day, there was one difficulty to find the actual beach of our hotel, because it was difficult to find a sign with an index. But these are trifles, they found it, and then everything was fine. On the beach, as usual, they carry whole blocks of cigarettes, sell small palm trees, beads, cacti, fruits, scarves, and offer to get a henna tattoo. It's honestly a bit annoying, but tolerable. There are many things from entertainment, and a scooter and a parachute, and water skiing and much more. The prices are acceptable within 30 dinars for each. On the neighboring beaches of other hotels, warm-ups are carried out in the water and on land. Everyone is invited. So every day you can keep fit by warming up on the beach. The sea water is clean. Sometimes if in the morning the wind is from the sea, then algae are washed ashore, but they do not interfere, because you can move away from the coast 5-10 and you can swim.
By the way, due to the fact that the sea is shallow, about 30 meters from the shore, you can swim even for those who cannot swim. I'll tell you well. There are not enough sunbeds for everyone, so it is advisable to come to the sea early, at least by 9-00 hours, that is, immediately after breakfast. Then you are guaranteed to be with a sunbed.

Embankment. The waterfront is beautiful and clean. Along the entire embankment, on one side, there are cafes, on the other hand, souvenir shops, cafes and hotels. There is a yacht club, near which there is a very beautiful and cozy park. Horse-drawn carriages drive along the embankment. This is both good and bad at the same time. Because of the horses, in some places along the embankment one can feel the characteristic pungent smell of their (horses) liquid excrement evaporating on hot asphalt, associated with other excrement. Can you imagine this smell? Although they are nowhere to be seen on the road, the smell is such that one gets the impression that they are everywhere.
As for the shops on the waterfront. I’ll note right away that if you don’t plan to buy anything, then it’s better not to go on the other side. Because all the sellers will pull and it's annoying. It is better to cross to the other side of the road and you can safely walk. True, boys will find you everywhere - jasmine sellers. They will offer you to buy a small bouquet of jasmine for 1 dinar. There are practically no supermarkets. The only more or less normal supermarket in the usual sense for us is located near the Green Golf Hotel on the opposite side of the Marina cottage complex. Moreover, it is necessary to stock up on medicines, because there are no pharmacies on the embankment. There is really one, but it is at night, it works from 19-30 - 09-30. But there is not much choice there either. Medicines for the stomach and intestines are especially important. I know for myself. The nearest day pharmacy from our hotel is 40 minutes on foot or by taxi for 3 dinar.
Pharmacies also only understand Arabic or French. Unless, of course, you call them a medicine that sounds the same all over the world, you are lucky, otherwise it will take a long time to explain what exactly you need.

Souvenir market Throughout Tunisia, the souvenir market is known as Medina, it is in Yasmine Hammamet - Medina, and in Hammamet - Medina, and in the capital - Medina. So in the Medina there is a lot of everything, that's only 2, or even more times cheaper than on the waterfront. I immediately draw attention to the fact that sellers name the prices that come to their mind. Immediately you can safely divide this price by 2 and only from this price start bargaining. They will never sell you for less than they can afford, so feel free to name your prices. Sellers are arrogant, too intrusive, but you need to be prepared for this.

Tours. The choice of excursions is not great.
Some of the main ones are: safari for 2 days (145-205 dinars, depending on whether you ride jeeps and camels), Tunis-Carthage for 1 day (75 dinars) and sailing on a pirate ship for half a day (35 dinars) . The most memorable of course safari. In two days you travel around half the country with a visit to the main attractions. I like it. But a lot depends on the guide. I did not like the guide in Tunis-Carthage, he spoke Russian poorly, and did not follow the group at all.

Airport in Monastir. Arrival, in fact, as well as departure, is carried out through the airport located in the city of Monastir. The main thing that I should note in this part is that you do not spend all the dinars, leave at least 10 dinars for packing luggage, unless of course there is a need for this. Packing medium-sized luggage costs 5 dinars, and large 10. In the memo to the tourist, it was indicated that the package costs 2.5 dinars. We thought so too.

That's actually all.
I wish you a pleasant stay! I hope my story will be useful to you.

But late at night, I saw how bleach was scattered in large glasses. And now imagine how much it was thrown there for a whole week.

Pros: Large rooms. The biggest disadvantages are the remoteness of the beach and the food system (a very meager selection of dishes, plus constant queues and a large number of flies). Moreover, meals (full board) - does not include the inclusion of alcoholic beverages, only ½ glass of wine for lunch and dinner. Therefore, if living conditions and quality food with the inclusion of alcoholic beverages are important to you, the beach is on site - do not choose this hotel for anything!

Supermarket 15 minutes on foot, the city of Hammamet - on a regular bus - 30 minutes, but rarely runs. Taxi approx. 120-150 rubles.
All Tunisians are very friendly, the mood was spoiled only by a bored, middle-aged Muscovite, who pestered all Russian vacationers with her comments and advice, they laughed at her, but it turned out to be a kliptomaniac, one had to be careful.
