I want to say right away that I am satisfied with my vacation on Djerba, there are many impressions, many pleasant moments, but there is something that spoiled the mood.
Hotel Diar Yassin is quite clean, suitable for an overnight stay. There is not much else to do in the hotel, although there is a pool with chlorinated water. For some reason, tour companies show photos of a one-story hotel building, now there is a two-story building, which improves the appearance (if possible, I will post a photo). I must warn you that there is a stable next to the hotel.
But the most painful place of the hotel is the road to the beach and the beach itself!! ! The road takes 10-15 minutes on foot. Unfortunately, camels and horses are driven along the same road. Therefore, you have to go, as if through a "minefield", to look around, you won't be able to admire nature. The smell is appropriate.
Travel companies promise a cart from the hotel that will take you to the beach - do not believe it! The wagon is broken all the time, 1 time in 10 days we miraculously managed to drive it, but this wagon takes it to the most dangerous section of the "minefield".
Now about the beach: very dirty, up to fragments from broken bottles, it’s not even pleasant to enter the territory (and ashamed).
The peak of disappointment is the entrance to the sea: sand comes across in places, but the main bottom is sharp, bumpy stones. Given that the sea is very shallow, swimming on the beach of the Diar Yassin hotel is simply dangerous.
The beaches of neighboring hotels (20-30 meters along the coast) are different, they clean them there, and the bottom is sandy, and the depth is greater (they swam there, though with adventures: the beach guards can drive it away).
A few more words about the way from the airport in Monastir to the island - 7 hours, no less. Of course, we looked at the whole country, but it was very tiring. It is better to get to St. Petersburg, from there there are direct flights to Djerba.
There were a lot of good things in my trip: Sahara with visits to Berber villages and mountains with unearthly landscapes, Medun with bazaars and shops, warm sea, friendly people who do not speak Russian at all.
I think I will go to Djerba again, but to another hotel. Although the number of stars does not play any role, the neighboring beach was no different from ours, although it belongs to the Azurea 4 * hotel, and they go to the beach by the same road...
