Despite the fact that the hotel is adapted for children, there is absolutely nothing to do with a stroller in this area, from the word at all. Construction around! You need to go down to the beach on clay stones or on meter-long steps in a cafe Near the beach. You can eat only in 3 places near the hotel... everything....there is nothing nearby, the hotel is cut off from civilization.
The biggest shock for me was that three days later we still hadn't eaten fruit! To which you need to take a taxi and go. There is nothing on the beach, only a few cafes, to which, with a stroller, it’s actually hard to drive on the sand. There is no Family March, no 7 Eleven, not even a pharmacy. I do not advise you to go to such a wilderness with children.
The tour operator Biblio Globus refused to change the hotel without additional payments, so they began to adapt somehow, but the rest was spoiled and very limited.
Hope you don't make that mistake.
Another flaw in the hotel itself is the lack of a bath in the rooms, for living with babies this is a huge minus. You won’t find Russians there either, only a bunch of screaming Chinese. The pool is dirty, adults are sitting in the children's room. All these minuses do not cover the friendly attitude of the staff, thanks to them.
Everything was amazing! Kamala - the best beach - very diverse, in the middle of the bay - lively, to the right edge is more calm, and, what's great - shady! Until noon, the shade from dense pines falls on the beach, and there is where to hide from the very hot Thai sun : -). The waves are average, depending on the weather, there are no stones in the water, entry into the sea is ideal. A huge number of cafes on the beach, prices are reasonable, everything is very tasty. I don’t understand people who come here and eat only European food or fast food, Thai food is very tasty, varied and not spicy, you can also pick it up.
The hotel is located on a small hill, across the road (underpass), the road is completely tireless, it takes about 7 minutes. I can’t say about the hotel that something in it is amazing, no. But the most important thing is that there are no minuses, nothing to complain about, so to speak : -) Clean, beautiful, functional. The staff is very welcoming, friendly and smiling. There is a great massage parlour, right next to the hotel.
I also ordered excursions, found a good local company with a large selection of programs at low prices, much better than operators, where it is expensive and they don’t worry about quality too much. I went to the islands - there is just extraordinary blue clear water, the bottom can be seen even at a depth of three meters! I went to the local theater for the Siam Niramid show, I recommend it, informative and colorful.
The holiday was great, I recommend Phuket!
The first impression of the hotel is a slight dilapidation and fatigue. A concrete spiral staircase with some suspicious stains leads to the room (third floor) (I noticed that Thais do not do wet cleaning, apparently for religious reasons : ).
The mountain view is neutral, slightly rotten in the evenings.
The furniture in the room is also very used, the cabinets creak and wobble, the shower is leaking and ANTS! small and pervasive EVERYWHERE! on the bed in closets, in suitcases, in a standard plastic jar of vitamins... The gecko that scared my wife is not coping in the closet.
You wake up in ants... In general, there is a problem with insects, at night ominous sounds of unknown origin are heard in the room.
Breakfast is good but monotonous. It is not very budgetary to go to a hotel restaurant on your own. Not plentiful and not very tasty lunch (rather a snack) without alcohol for four cost 2500 baht.
Taxi drivers are strained by the inaccessibility of transport with their teeth to hold on to the price of 100 baht per kilometer, hotel transport travels only to Patong with a preliminary appointment two days in advance, twice a day, and time is limited, the driver does not wait for anyone, he leaves at the time of his mobile phone.
I liked the gym and the pool (in the evenings, chlorination is a bit too much).
The beach is relatively close (400-500 meters), the passage under the road is scary and cramped, the beach is common, full of sunbeds for 50 baht. The water, depending on the time of day, was either cloudy or relatively transparent at first, jellyfish stung (somewhere before the end of January). Annoying bunch of foreign pensioners who are constantly making a promenade back and forth along the beach. On the other hand, there are not many other entertainments.
In general, the hotel does not justify the declared 4 stars (except for prices), it is suitable for beach lovers and insect lovers.
Until 9 pm, pleasant live music in the restaurant created an unforgettable atmosphere, which is pleasant to enjoy sitting at a table by the pool ...The pool is not bad, I swam in the evening. The Russian guy Tikhon works at the reception, which helped a lot. The rest of the staff do not speak Russian. And there are still few Russian tourists in the hotel. But there are plenty of families with children, the hotel is considered a family hotel: a children's pool, a water slide, a children's room, rooms with two bedrooms and a living room, why not a family vacation? In general, the hotel is very calm, not stressful with a special atmosphere, where you want to return
To the beach 4 minutes at a leisurely pace along a quiet street. There is even a plus that the hotel is a little away from the sea. On the same beach there are hotels right by the sea - so it’s not very pleasant when passers-by stare at your microlife.
Nearby you can eat in 2 places: the Frenchman is quite decent and the Indians did not like it. But on the beach there is a choice of restaurants.
I recommend eating at Pound, located to the left along the beach.
Near the hotel there is a good shop: T-shirts, shorts, slippers. The prices are even cheaper than in the shops on Kamala, so it's better to buy here, it's checked. Excursions are also cheaper here, do not be afraid to take it. In general, everything is slightly more expensive on Kamala, even than on Bang Tao. Bargain! Twice a week, an evening market comes to Kamala on Wednesdays and Saturdays, where there is a large selection of fruits and things. True, the quality of things was not impressive. All local food is there. We ate without problems, the main thing is not to interfere with fruits and seafood. Shrimps in batter are very tasty! Gradually I fell in love with the local chili sauce, sweet with pepper seeds like that. It is given separately in small pouches. As a result, I bought the sauce to take home.
Traveled most of the beaches of Phuket on a motorbike. Rented: Honda Click, 200 baht per day and as a deposit a photocopy of the passport. Rides well - two people up the hill without question.
The traffic is intense, especially in Patong, the Roads are constantly through passes, descents and ascents, but if you drive carefully keeping to the left side, then there are no problems. Thais observe traffic rules every other time, but I have not seen rudeness and arrogance like ours. The camera in the wheel burst, replacement 160 baht. Gasoline 32 baht at a gas station and 40 baht in bottles by the road. I do not recommend taking bottles - it ends quickly.
If you will be in the Jangceylon shopping center in Patong, be sure to go to a Japanese restaurant, which is right next to the ship. Entrance 320 baht per person for 1 hour 15 minutes. During this time, eat whatever you want: sushi, rolls, fruits, juices, ice cream, and the coolest thing is making your own soup! Around you is a conveyor with plates on which all kinds of food: squid shrimp, chicken, bacon, beef, greens, mushrooms, crabs and much more. All this you boil and eat. At 7 and 9 pm laser show. Do not forget to bargain everywhere, except for cafe-restaurants.
There is also a good supermarket Carefor. Of the useful things in it, you can buy sliced fruits, T-shirts for 99 baht, a large selection of suitcases.
I join the general opinion: Similans are something! More than pay off 3 hours of travel. Didn't like Bond Island. Pee-pee is normal, but very crowded, and the Similans will be better. Where to take excursions already wrote.
The beaches of Phuket are varied and all different from each other. The best are Nai Harn and Surin. By the way, the last one is not far from the hotel on foot. Also visit Karon Beach with its cool crispy sand.
Unfortunately, in 11 days I didn’t manage to do everything I wanted, but now there is a reason to return ...
Ready to answer questions, and even wrote so much.
