Good afternoon! I decided to leave my review about the Phuket Orchid Resort & Spa. I think it will be short and to the point. Purpose - family vacation. Rooms - the hotel is not new. The rooms are standard - beds, table, chairs, TV, bathroom. knot, etc. The territory is gorgeous. Very large, beautiful, well-groomed and well-planned territory.

The highlight is a large concrete head in the middle of one of the pools and a bar underneath.
Food - we ate.
The hotel has 2 restaurants, one big and the other not so much. Drinks bar in the pool (you can swim up and freshen up without leaving the water), a snack bar by the pool and an open-air cafe.
The food options are different from "without it" to full board, but we chose to eat only breakfast in order to try how they cook in other restaurants and "macashnitsa" of which there are a dime a dozen in the area.
Breakfast starts at 6 in the morning and ends at 10:00, since we have small children, we got up early and had time to go to breakfast 2 times))) On weekdays, buffets with different cuisines are held in the large restaurant "LE BAYON". We were at an evening of steaks and royal Thai food. We barely crawled away from there))) I highly recommend it. In addition, the entrance ticket also includes a light drink: wine, beer or soda.
Animation - present.
Very unobtrusive, practically only for children, with the exception of "aqua aerobics". In German)))
Children's mini club - yes.
Draw, applique, cartoons, constructors and various types of applied art.
Water slides - yes.
2 large and 2 in the children's pool. They work by the hour. Lifeguards are constantly on duty.
Pools - a lot on the territory, did not count))) There are rooms with access to the pool through the balcony.
In one of the pools, there is a smooth entrance with a handrail equipped for people with disabilities. Service of issue and exchange of towels. I note that towels can be changed an infinite number of times during the day. (Which compares favorably with Turkish hotels, where towels are exchanged once a day)
The children's pool is very good.
Water slide for children 2 pcs. Wall for climbers. Dolphins, etc. I was pleased with the smooth entry into the water. A 2-year-old child himself entered the water. And a big awning stretched over it.
Services: Miscellaneous
On the territory there is a Spa salon, a massage parlor and a gym.
Children are braided (by the way, it turned out to be cheaper in the hotel than in hairdressers outside the hotel).
In the gym, the girl is a professional fitness instructor, she has all sorts of awards hanging on the wall.
An artist sits in the lobby next to the reception, he paints very beautiful pictures.
The area around the hotel is densely built up.
Cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, beauty salons and massage parlors, souvenir shops, kitchens on wheels and fruit stalls and again cafes, restaurants, bars ....
In general, a lot of things, here you can eat, junk, massage, etc.
The sea is exciting
To the sea 2 minutes walk, municipal beach. Very clean and the sand is pleasant, the entrance to the sea is not very smooth, so be vigilant about the waves, the WAVES and the current. There are also lifeguards on the sea and a system of signs to determine if it is safe to swim. Right here you can get a Thai massage, of course, for a modest fee)))
In the end, I want to say that I liked the hotel very much and the family vacation copes with its function 100%.
He is not ashamed to recommend.

PS Lean more on fruits, here they are tastier and cheaper than on our shelves.

The large territory of the hotel is conveniently located - 2 minutes walk to the sea. Near the hotel - the best restaurant in Phuket. We stayed at this hotel from 01/01/13 to 01/08/13. I read a lot of reviews about him, mostly good ones. That's why they chose it. The hotel positions itself as a 3 *, and where 4 *, although, in all honesty, it is a solid 2 *. The hotel is old. Rooms (which standard) are not cramped in size, but everything is done in dark brown.

The hotel positions itself as a 3 *, and where 4 *, although, in all honesty, it is a solid 2 *. The hotel is old. Rooms (which standard) are not cramped in size, but everything is done in dark brown. Gloomy. They gave me a room with a view to nowhere, either to the backyard, or to some kind of construction site. They wanted to replace it, but then they appreciated the advantage of such accommodation - there was no music from the restaurant until the night. Killed the "coating" on the floor in the room - a rather slippery tile! Bathroom: sink, toilet.
Shower-watering can from the wall behind the curtain. Hot water in the truest sense of the word - no. It runs barely warm - you wash and freeze... Cleaning leaves much to be desired - they smeared dirt on the floor. People said that they leave a tip - we never basically left it.
You have to pay for everything. For a safe, for Wi-Fi 100 baht / 30 min, 200 baht / 1 hour... The hotel is located on a rather dirty, crooked, smelly street. To the sea-150 meters. Sun loungers are paid - 100 baht. (Sell 2 at a time). The sand, however, "creaks" underfoot.
The sea was disgusting - the waves resembled small tsunamis. The bottom is sandy, but in some holes, you go and fall through.
When leaving the beach there is not even a tap in order to rinse your feet, you had to carry bottled water with you. Darkness. Food, in my opinion, is very expensive. Mainly seafood. Crabs, sea crayfish, etc. at a price of 800-1200 per piece. Eat pasta or pizza, approximately 500-600 rubles per person. We didn't like the taste.
The breakfasts at the hotel are quite good. We had lunch and dinner in the room, we bought groceries in the store on 7/11. The hotel pool is for kids. Depth-125 cm. Perhaps this hotel will be good as an economical one. But don't go there during the high season. The price during this period corresponds to the price of a 5 * hotel in November or February. We did not think that for a price of 80 thousand per person we would live in such terrible conditions.
It's up to you, of course.

For us personally, the hotel seemed to be a pretty good place to spend a vacation based on the price-quality ratio. The hotel is located on Karon Beach - conditionally on the first coastline - there is a highway between the hotel and the beach. For us personally, the hotel seemed to be a pretty good place to spend a vacation based on the price-quality ratio. The hotel is located on Karon Beach - conditionally on the first coastline - there is a highway between the hotel and the beach. However, on Karon, almost all hotels are located like this, with the exception of one or two hotels. The hotel area is not particularly large but green and well-groomed. There are 4 swimming pools including 1 for children with 2 water slides for children. There were always enough sunbeds, but I think when the hotel is fully occupied, they may not be enough - although they can put additional ones. The room was a pleasant surprise - they took the usual superior. Against the description, it turned out that the room is quite large, much more than 30 squares, a large terrace, a decent LCD TV, tea accessories. The room has 2 full beds - one double for us and the second one and a half for the child. Linen and towels were changed every day. It was changed and not remade and neatly folded. Shower supplies were added every day. The room was given in building 4.3rd floor, garden view - quiet, calm, not sunny and you can hear the sea roaring. Walk to the beach from the hotel 100-150 meters. We managed to swim for the first few days - then the sea stormed and it became impossible and very dangerous to enter the sea. Sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach are naturally paid 150 baht. We never took lying on the sand and on towels. The beach is large, the sea is clean, although without living creatures. Kata beach seems to be quite good - walk for about 20 minutes. It seemed that the sea is much calmer there - people swam without problems. Compared to Karon, Kata is much busier and more comfortable. We took a tour with breakfast only - we did not regret it. Breakfast is the usual - scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, potatoes, noodles, soup. From sweet baked donuts, nuts. From fruits - watermelon, pineapple, papaya. Almost always had a hearty breakfast and did not want to eat until dinner. Toward evening we ate in cafes. We tried several and settled on what we ate for the first time - called Robinson House. It is located in the same lane where the hotel comes out closer to the intersection with Patak Rod. Decent selection of food and reasonable prices. Dinner cost an average of 400-500 baht for three people. At the same time, everyone ate very paid. They usually took 3 dishes and ate each a little of each dish, since it is unrealistic to eat 2 dishes for one person - the portions are very large. Away from the hotel streets, they ate quite decently for 150 baht for three people. The Thais themselves usually ate there, but there were also English-speaking tourists. The choice of dishes is not great - a couple of soups, 2-3 types of noodles and rice, but everything is very tasty. We didn’t eat there all the time just because we always wanted to try something new. Small products - water, milk, pastries for tea were bought in seven ileven - the prices are very reasonable. Fruits are a separate topic - you need to try everything because I have not seen almost all of them in Russia. Prices - on the tray and the hotel are overpriced by 6-7 times, on the streets 3-4 times from the real price. We found a store where 99% of the Thais themselves bought goods - the prices there were lower than in 7 ileven. So, for example, a watermelon at the entrance to the hotel cost 120 baht, and in the store we took large sizes but for 30 baht. Everything that is sold is very tasty, but when you buy, carefully read the information about the product - you can take sweet pastries with pork or some kind of spicy-sweet product and it will be impossible for us to eat. And the Thais eat. Excursions. We went with our native Pegasus only on a sightseeing tour - more like a shop tour - a snake farm, a latex factory, a jewelry factory, an observation deck. You can go for general development. The rest of the excursions were taken in the Matryoshka tour. Prices compared to Pegasus are significantly lower. There are no complaints about the quality of the excursions - everything is as stated - transfer by good transport, meals, Russian guides. We took 2 excursions - in nat. park to the mainland to Khao Lak park and a boat trip to Phang Nga (James Bond) I liked everything very much, especially James Bond. In general, the impressions of the trip are only positive - compared to Egypt and Turkey, Thailand is a cut above.

Without exaggerating, I will say that the hotel is worthy of 4 *, I have rested more than once in Pattaya in 4-ke, but Orchid is the best hotel in every respect. Just a beautiful green area, which is a pleasure to walk around, a lot of flowers, palm trees, 3 pools, one of which is for children with slides, and which for me was a big plus - you can swim in the pool even until late at night.

Wonderful smiling staff, cozy rooms where they clean and change towels every day. The breakfasts are delicious and very satisfying, I can’t say that they are varied every day, but you definitely won’t stay hungry there, I have never seen any dishes run out and the cups were empty, everything is replenished immediately. For me, it was good news that breakfasts are until 10.30, because. I like to sleep in the morning. Perhaps I can only note two minuses: there are no entertainments nearby, except for massage, but for some it will only be a plus, and also the fact that a lot of Chinese rest in the hotel, they love to gather in the evening near the pool and lead noisy conversations until late, which makes it very difficult to sleep, but fortunately it was not every day.

Hello everyone who reads this review! I can only say good things about the hotel, wonderful service, insanely beautiful area (though not big), a huge swimming pool throughout, room cleaning and linen change every day! From the beach 3 minutes walk, the beach is clean only on Karon waves, but we were with a 7 year old son, they did not interfere with us! In general, Thailand is a paradise! Ask questions, I will be happy to answer fedorenko_n_v@mail.

We rested in the so-called off-season from July 4 to July 18.2009. Maybe we were lucky with the weather, but it rained only 3 times in 2 weeks, one day immediately upon arrival was weak with clearings, and 2 days in a row, of course, a real tropical downpour, these the days we used for massage, trips to a supermarket in Patong, though there was a rafting + trekking tour on elephants, which was not canceled, of the whole tour we were in a temple with monkeys (interesting) and rode elephants in the pouring rain, it would be better if we didn’t do this , it’s terrible how scary it is when an elephant steps into a stormy river from under a stick, and the drovers beat the elephants mercilessly, for animal lovers it’s unbearable.

The money for the cancellation of rafting was returned. By the way, excursions were taken at a street agency, cheaper, as many wrote, 2 times than h-s operators, and everything is very clear and organized. Everything about the hotel is wonderful, they didn’t pay attention to the little things (for example, they cleaned it badly despite the tip), the breakfasts are excellent, although they are exactly the same for 14 days, I don’t advise taking lunches and dinners. cafes/restaurants are much cheaper to eat. The general conclusion from a trip in the off-season is the pros-inexpensive (in restaurants even the price tags are re-glued to cheaper ones), not so hot, few tourists, no crowds. Of the minuses, it will not be possible to swim in the sea because of the waves, only jump in the waves, excursions to the islands can be canceled or rescheduled if there is a storm. There is no animation in the hotel. By the way, officially in Thailand, the rainy season begins after a religious holiday (I forgot the name), and this is somewhere after July 10th. We were satisfied (we are 2 couples 30-40 years old without children), I will definitely return to Tai !!!!!! !
