We immediately warned the guide from the Biblio-Globus that we had been to Phuket more than once, did not take offense at all, wrote down our numbers, and subsequently sent SMS messages about leaving for an excursion and home. Asked for only one tour - James Bond. My family went there eight years ago, and my friends haven't been there yet, so we decided to "refresh memories". To be honest, the adorable guide Bogdan greatly brightened up the impression! Of course, over the years, the people on the islands have increased, memorable places have been “trampled”, but friends liked it, the landscapes remained the same.
The hotel has two (! ) stars, so it would be foolish to count on super comfort. True, the confidence that things could not be bad in Thailand gave hope. And so it turned out. Yes, the rooms in the bungalows are small, the standard is just small, but all this is located in the middle of the botanical garden, where even the signs on especially interesting plants are pinned. The rooms are a little dark, but how could it be otherwise if you live in a one-story building among, consider, forests? There is also a more comfortable building, three floors, but the balconies overlook the road. But, sitting at dawn near the room, but almost in the jungle, you can watch whole flocks of squirrels, birds, and sometimes even bats, but these are piece ones : ) If there were more of them, you see, and there would be no mosquitoes.
The bungalows are built in an arc around the pool, paths diverge radially from the pool, so it is not necessary to go along all the rooms to get to yours.
The pool is good, there is a fenced paddling pool for the cubs, and then the depth gradually reaches 9 feet (almost 3m). There is a small hill, which, in theory, is supplied with water through a tube. Every day, in the fight against the valve, different guys tried to demonstrate the talents of a plumber, sometimes successfully. It was enough for small children to simply splash water on the hill, be healthy! The pool is cleaned around six in the morning, and is open from 7 am to 12 at night.
Of course, the merry audience hangs around in the pool in the evenings, of course, on the first evening my husband swelled: "Again, the compatriots will not let me sleep! " But they passed out instantly, and after that they fell asleep just like that, they got tired much during the day. And it turned out that ours are just quiet angels in comparison with young Finns, it’s hard to survive these...
The room is modestly equipped, you should bring a kettle with you, but the air conditioner is quite new, it blew, as it should be, at the set temperature. The First Channel of Russia was seen on the TV, if anyone is interested. Perhaps there was not enough space in the bathroom where you can dump all sorts of junk, a shower without a curtain. The bed linen is good, I won’t say how often it was changed, probably once every two or three days, towels daily, white for the shower, blue - to the pool and to the beach, changed in the morning. Safe at the reception, we were quite satisfied. Clothes were dried on a dryer near the entrance to the room.
Wi-Fi is free around the pool and in the lobby, does not reach the rooms.
Breakfasts. When I saw fried eggs and scrambled eggs on the first morning, I sighed, but read the reviews, I guessed that I didn’t have to wait for anything special. Our uncles happily noted that eating bacon means that breakfasts are normal! And then it turned out that the saying: "Early bird worm! " does not work here, the "worm" in the form of fried rice, noodles is ready half an hour after opening, at the same time hot seasonings, so beloved by us, such as pepper with soy sauce, appear. There are vegetables for breakfast, excellent watermelons and pineapples, papaya is also available. Suddenly, pancakes (or donuts? ) turned out to be very tasty, I hadn’t eaten them before, but here, “out of hunger”, apparently, they went very well! : ) As for hunger, it’s a joke, of course, yes, there’s not much variety, but for those who, like us, prefer to eat quickly and reliably in the morning, and then spit on all sorts of “expeditions” (Winnie the Pooh), it’s quite suitable.
Once we had lunch in our restaurant, alas, not the most delicious option, if you walk along the nearby street towards the temple, there are enough places where it is both tastier and cheaper.
The location of the hotel is excellent: Karon beach - just cross the road, the city bus route passes nearby, and the fact that Karon Park is located near the hotel helped to communicate with taxi drivers, they are good, but they are somehow badly oriented in their maps. But because of the presence of a reservoir nearby in the Park, that weighty, in our opinion, minus is mosquitoes. You just have to be prepared for this, fumigators do not work, only repellents (which are splashed on clothes).
Perhaps due to the fact that smiles are spreading on our faces an hour before arriving in Thailand, we never had any friction with the staff and problems in the room. Cleaned decently, the guys in the lobby were very friendly, helped if necessary.
I was amused by the announcement in Russian, warning that swimming is prohibited. I didn't find anything like it in English. Everyone swam, of course, big waves rolled in portions of five pieces, then again small excitement.
The street towards the temple is full of fruit markets, bars with beer, bad girls and very good music, pharmacies and other things, but the nearby store "7-11" is located on a parallel street that runs just between the hotel and Karon Park.
On the territory of the temple on Tuesday there is a big market, friends went there, were very pleased, and they were especially impressed by the way the monks sang, perhaps there was some kind of holiday.
I suspect the bazaar happens there on some other day of the week (Thursday? ), but we washed off to Phi Phi, and found only one Tuesday.
Upon arrival, we were settled in a bungalow (I don’t remember the category, the most common), as far as I understand, there are bungalows of a better class, but we didn’t see them. Horror! A small house, divided into two parts (2 separate rooms), the room is so small that it was impossible to move, it fits a bed, one bedside table, a cabinet with a small refrigerator and a TV on it, which, in principle, did not work, only a couple of incomprehensible channels and suitcase. In this room there is a partition (namely a partition) with a door where a washbasin, toilet and shower tap. There is no pallet, no curtains, everything is on the floor, while flooding everything that is + interruptions in hot water. The walls are so thin that it feels like people passing by or living nearby are right next to you. We decided to move to the main building, with an additional payment for two people for 10 days, only 1200 baht (the same as in rubles). The room on the 3rd floor is chic, large, with a balcony (the view is true of the neighboring restaurant and a piece of the sea, but this did not overshadow the impression). Bed one double and one poltorashka (saw the same rooms with two beds). The bathroom is combined, but also a large room with a bath and hot water, there were no problems. There was a problem with the refrigerator, it was leaking, but it was quickly resolved (in our absence). The staff practically does not know English, but they managed with gestures, somehow understood each other, the main thing is to be friendly, the country is like that. Cleaning 1 time per day, towels and bed linen are changed, while we did not leave a tip. The ticket included only breakfast, heard not very good reviews, but I was satisfied. Tea, coffee, dishes of about 7 items, jams, yoghurts, bananas, pineapples, watermelons and, it seems, papaya. I read about yogurts that they are very tasty - this is true, but they are better to eat chilled, they are really very tasty. I can’t say anything about the dishes themselves, as I constantly took pancakes with jam. The beach is not from the hotel, but not bad, it is located right across the road (be careful, there is an unusual right-hand traffic for us - they don’t give way, because there are no traffic rules there). Sun loungers under umbrellas cost 100 baht, you pay in bars (each has its own territory), which are located right on the beach. If you leave the beach, then you will have to pay again, no one will remember you and save your place - this is a business. Cafes, shops, beauty salons are located near the hotel, you don’t need to go far - literally the next street. And most importantly, we took with us a bunch of medicines for poisoning, but we never used it, everything was in order.
The overall impression is very positive, we had a wonderful rest!
A week ago we returned from Phuket, lived in this hotel. We flew with two married couples, 23-28 years old.
The overall impression is good. Beautiful large garden, well-groomed territory.
Rooms....we lived in a bungalow, the first impression was not very good, very old furniture, a lot of mosquitoes, dark rooms. But in 2 weeks they got used to living, and did not want to leave at all. Cleaning is weak, bedding changed every day, towels too. The bathroom could have been better cleaned. They don't really care about cleanliness. And what we want is a 3-star hotel! Which fully justifies it! For a solid three. The rooms in the hotel building are chic, we looked, they have them as De-suites.
The staff is very friendly, always smiling and saying hello wherever they meet you.
The food is standard, we had breakfast. This - scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, fried bacon, spaghetti or rice, fruit, tea . coffee and something like juice, quite edible.
Sea across the road, 2 minutes walk, very nice Karon beach. Sunbeds for 100 baht 1 piece. there are no towels. we took from the room. By the way, even if you lost towels. no one counts them there, we constantly left them on the pool, and the next day they brought us clean ones again.
There are few sunbeds on the beach, that on the pool, going for breakfast, always occupied sunbeds, because later there are no more free ones.
Tourists are mostly Germans - 80%. predominantly pensioners. Due to this, the area is very quiet and peaceful.
We went to cafes for lunch and dinner, the most delicious cafe with a signboard with a picture of something like onions or garlic - it’s really tastier and cheaper there. In the evening they always have a queue for dinner. Schedule of work from 15-23 like. It's up to the left of the roundabout.
In general, the rest was very pleasant! I recommend this hotel for a budget stay. who wants to save money on a hotel, because there is money to spend
Have a nice rest!
