We went to Thailand, Phuket from April 9 to April 22, lived at the Peach Hill Hotel in Kata. A 4-star hotel (but not particularly 4-star), we had a double room on the 4th floor, in a building on the mountain. We had 13 days, we went through Coral Travel, it came out 92 thousand for two with breakfast. We have no special complaints about the work "Coral", we met and placed. Then we were on our own.
The hotel consists of several buildings. The one on the mountain is the “delux” category, and the one under the mountain, by the road, is the “Superior” category. It is better to immediately take a room in a building on the mountain, because if you live in the second building, you may encounter inconvenience. This is the proximity of the roadway and the location of two night bars literally 50 meters away. In them, life begins at 10 pm and continues until 4 am, and so every day, and the entire musical repertoire will be heard very well in the room. We met a couple who were unhappy and changed their room for this reason, although it was not so easy (there were no places in the building on the mountain for two days, as soon as there were places, the number was changed). We lived in a building on a mountain and did not experience any particular inconvenience. It was calm. The minus of this hotel is in a very high location on the mountain, walking up and down is not very convenient, but in general it is good for health. Yes, and in case of a tsunami threat, it is safe. We were just here on that day, April 11, when the tsunami threat was announced. It was terrible! The alarm went off and everyone ran, who, where!! ! The whole Kata was packed with bikes and people running! We called Denis (an employee of the Treasure Islands travel agency, about him below), asked what to do. He said, sit on the mountain, in your hotel, you have it high up, there is no danger. So, I would like to write that it is “highly uncomfortable”, but after that incident, it personally pleased us J). There is also a significant plus in such an arrangement on the "mountain" when you relax in Phuket.
The hotel rooms themselves are clean, new, no complaints about this. Cleaning is not bad, it is better, however, to leave a small tip (we left 40 baht). This hotel has practically no territory, there is another hotel nearby, and together they form a common territory. We liked the pool with jacuzzi, it's nice to have sex there in the evening. You can buy cheap drinks at the pool bar. The breakfasts were good, they gave omelettes, fruits, rice....Breakfast is like breakfast.

The beaches are very close. The closest, five minutes walk, is Kata. To get there, you need to go down the mountain on which the hotel is located and turn right. If you go left and walk for about 15 minutes, you get to Karon Beach. Both beaches are picturesque, with clear water. The peculiarity of Karon Beach is the sand singing under your feet! Very unusual! Many are delighted with this beach, but I personally did not like the sharp entry into the water (immediately deep) and very strong waves. Kata beach is somehow calmer, there are almost no waves, the entrance to the water is more gentle. The prices for sun loungers on all beaches are 100 baht per seat. A couple of times on the beach caught a tropical downpour! It was cool! We swam right in the rain, it was not cold at all! An hour later, there is no trace of the downpour.
In general, we liked the location of the hotel. Lots of cafes, restaurants, shops! True, the somewhat obsessive Indians are annoying... Somehow, having seen them, we did not want to go to India.
Very close to Kata Road, there is a market with Thai things-Kata Expo, there is also an exchanger and a pharmacy. Right next to it is a very worthy sea food restaurant called Kata Karon sea food. We ate here almost every day for lunch and dinner - tasty and inexpensive. Rice with seafood - 80 baht. In the evenings, near this restaurant, right in front of the exchange office and the market (all this is in one space), small elephants perform. For 50 baht you can buy bananas, feed them and take pictures with them. It's worth it!! ! Elephants are a miracle! They also play the harmonica and dance. Such funny kids!! ! Here, by the way, is the office of the company selling tour packages - Treasure Island. We are here at the same time and bought tickets from the manager Denis. Denis showed us everything, told us, helped us make the right choice. He is a real pro and just a good person. He told everything as it is, and this bribed, did not hide possible difficulties, voiced not only the pros, but also the cons. He showed photos of all the excursions from the personal archive, and not stolen from the Internet. He was everywhere, shared his personal impressions. We will always contact him now, we exchanged phone numbers and Skype.
We took a tour of 11 islands from Denis for 2 days. We immediately visited Krabi, and James Bond, and Pi Pi....And many other beautiful, picturesque islands. We spent the night on Phi Phi Island, had dinner in a restaurant in the evening, then watched a fire show, Thai boxing, went to a disco....The food was excellent The next day we went to a very beautiful island, with clear water, snorkeled (we even saw a small shark)... Mass of impressions! There was a wonderful guide - Sasha. He entertained us well and promptly resolved all issues. The same was with Tanya on Khao Sok. A wonderful girl, she told a lot of interesting facts about Thailand in general and about her experience of living here. It's nice that the guides work so well, with a soul... There are wonderful memories of this trip! We saw unusual places, real jungle! We visited the monkey cave, the temple, dined on the Pu Sok river, floated on bamboo rafts along the river in the jungle, rode elephants... We also visited the gallery of caves with bats....Next time we will take a two-day excursion to feel everything better. One day was not enough.

As for shopping, we went on a sightseeing tour, were in different stores, where we bought a souvenir and so on. We bought ourselves summer clothes at the Central Festival. Latex pillows and a single mattress were taken from Denis in the office (when they flew away, they carried everything in a bag with hand luggage, which was not weighed)))). And the rest of the time we went on excursions and just enjoyed the usual beach vacation! We will definitely come again!
