Second time in Phuket. The first time was in January of this year, but at the Natural Hotel. I did not like the hotel, so I decided to take a newer hotel this time. I will not write about the difficult flight through Moscow with Anex Tour. I’ll go straight to the hotel itself and, in principle, Phuket.
Hotel:
When we were brought to the hotel itself, everyone experienced a slight shock. Since the hotel was located in some kind of incomprehensible, but quite lively wilds. Although the hotel itself is more like a hostel, everything there is brand new, clean, plasma, hot water. Although we had a standard room, we got a deluxe room, which we were incredibly happy about. Check-in 10-15 min. Cleanliness is good and the staff is also nice. The owners of the hotel live there. We were lucky with the location of the room, but if the windows face the street, it is better to stock up on earplugs. Because the street is very busy.
Breakfasts:
In Phuket, in principle, you can not take breakfast. And even more so in this hotel. There is no dining room as such. There are several tables in front of the reception. The girls from the reception every day cook you a scrambled egg from two eggs with one plasticine sausage and a small piece of bacon. They put out coffee, bread, jam and black bananas. Sometimes sluggish watermelon. But in Phuket, you can eat anywhere else and quite inexpensively.
Location:
As soon as we rented bikes and went to look for the coastline, what was our surprise. The hotel is located just around the corner of Banzan Bazaar (or something like that). Close to shopping center Ceylon. And this is the very center of Patong. True, we loved to eat to go to another market. On the main street to the left min 3-5 on the bike. The hotel is really very convenient to get to any beach, market, etc. Don't get lost for sure.
Bikes for rent:
They write a lot about the fact that in no case should you give your passport to anyone when you rent a bike. My advice and my practice in this regard: I always take a bike, because it is the freedom of movement around the island and a huge saving of time and money on a taxi. Taxis in Phuket are really very expensive. But I take a bike only in my hotel for 250 baht per day. And of course, I'm not afraid to give my passport as collateral. It is hidden under a lock at the reception and will not be lost anywhere. If the hotel agrees to a deposit, then the amount will be approximately $300-500. If you suddenly damage your bike, there is a huge workshop along the main street, where they will touch up and repair you for a penny and a scratch. Of course, you can walk a little down the street and find a bike for 130-200 baht per day. And here it is just unknown whether you will get your passport back, because you handed it to some incomprehensible uncle. Do you need it?
Beaches:
It's a matter of taste. Patong is very busy, but also the dirtiest beach. There are waves on Katya. And this time, some slimy crap was biting here, like a double small jellyfish. Sand creaks on Karon (very cool). Personally, I like Surin. To the right along the coastline 15-20 minutes by bike.
Excursions:
If you are in Phuket for the first time, then everything is interesting here! And of course the islands. For lovers of independent trips to the islands and other places, it is still more profitable to buy trips from an orange or any other agency. Because all entrance tickets and tickets at the port are more expensive. It can be seen here on purpose such a position to take tours from agencies. And do not be afraid, bargain with agencies, offer your value. Who is the first time, watch the show XXX.
And in conclusion, I still want to return to the hotel itself. I personally liked the hotel. I will gladly come back here next time.
