Thailand in the summer is a great vacation!
My husband and I decided to go to Asia for the first time and chose Thailand. And since they have a rainy season there and sometimes strong waves, we were advised to Pattaya. This resort town is quite peculiar and you should not judge the whole of Thailand by it. We looked at the map in advance, lived in the Ambassador, which is 15 km from the center, and also booked excursions in advance so as not to run anywhere and not fall under the influence of the guides : ) They tried so hard this time (and we went from Anex) .
The first thing to visit in Pattaya is the night markets. Interesting, unusual, rather dirty, sometimes tasty and cheap even for a 1 to 2 course.
The second is different excursions. We were advised the River Kwai, but we never went. In vain. Reviews from friends who went were cool. You should definitely visit the islands. We took Samet (there are all state beaches. All beaches, no matter what the hotel guide says). On Samet we found a beach with azure water and white sand. You get very beautiful photos, and don't forget to take masks to arrange free snorkeling : ) But you can also Ko Lan (there were no monkeys there). A gorgeous beach awaits you at Military Beach! I really liked it.
We independently visited the Temple of Truth, the one in the north. It's far, of course, but it's worth it. 500 baht entrance and watch as much as you want, the Russian-speaking staff will give you a free tour.
We also visited the Khao Kheo Zoo, Si Rachi Zoo and the Nong Nooch Tropical Garden. All these places are very beautiful. Plants are unusual. Animals can be touched and they are very close. Giraffes, ostriches, antelopes, deer, sloths, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, elephants and many other animals are waiting for you there.
We also went to CartoonNetwork water park. Gorges are interesting! Some are scary, some are very scary. For every taste. From 12 to 17 we had plenty of fun on all the slides we had : )
We went to Walkin Street only during the day, as the hotel was far from the center. I expected this street to be prettier.
It is worth going to the mountain to the Golden Buddha, as there is a beautiful view of Pattaya and the Buddha is huge.
We did not take an excursion to Bangkok, since it takes 2 hours to go to it and it is very tiring. Better island or Kwai.
The third is food. It was difficult for us to find really something very tasty, since I don’t like spicy food in general. But there is a lot of seafood. Shakes, fruits - it's all cheap and affordable. Here they will cut everything and give it to you. We went to restaurants a couple of times, where after 18:00 a buffet for 250 baht, for example. There we tried all the seafood and Thai dishes. By the way, we looked for places to eat on the map, which we took from the nearest currency exchange.
Currency exchange in the center is always more profitable. We changed in some black and yellow bank.
Fourth - transport. Since the traffic there is left-handed and without rules, we did not take the bike so as not to get into an accident. Therefore, tuk-tuks were our main mode of transport. Quite convenient.
It is worth going to Pattaya at least once in your life to understand what kind of city it is, but I would not return a second time. Phuket will be the next stop : )
